Comments made on articles are being reassigned to events. It tends to favor one event for no reason. If the event is removed or “allow comments” are disabled the comment is assigned to a different event. There is no rhyme or reason to why it selects the event. The post IDs are different. How is this even possible??

I should also mention that we have never been able to get the comment box to appear in events. Even with these events showing up in the admin, they do not show in the event itself. Not that they are supposed to in the first place but FYI.

Site goes live in a day. Need your help urgently. Can you please provide insight as to what may be causing this?

    Thanks,

As far as behavior goes. It will sometimes allow you to post one comment but then the rest go to an event.

In trying to solve this it seams that the upcoming event widget is the cause. Any post with the widget makes the comment issue appear.

Hi Marc (or Marc’s dev as it may be). This is an odd issue that we haven’t much experience with; I can get a dev to take a look, but can you confirm whether you have any comment-related plugins active that could be conflicting here?

Right off the bat, I know that depending on your theme, using the different templating options available under Settings -> The Events Calendar might get the comment box to appear/hide.

Lastly: I saw you had some templating issues in a separate thread, which you seemed to be able to figure out on your end. Any chance this was resolved by one of those fixes?
