Hi Conwin,

Thanks for summarizing your finding. Are you all set now that the functionality is clear in your head? How about the other issue of the number of events not changing despite what you set on the back end? If this is still an issue, it might be good to log it as a separate thread so that we can tackle it individually, that way it’ll be available for other users that might have a similar issue.

Hi Isgdesserts,

I think I see the issue. It looks like on your particular site you do not have the Map View turned on. This example was showing how you could change the title for upcoming events and for the mapview so the function was calling “tribe_is_map()” which you are nit using right now.

Try removing the “or tribe_is_map()” part of the if statement, check for any syntax errors and then see if that helps.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, you aren’t really looking for a “auto publish” solution. What you were hoping for was to publish the button in a location that was a little more user friendly then just sticking it in the event description? I think this should be possible via some customization. Take a look at the WP codex and see if this might help: http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields – you may be able to utilize the custom field to help with this.

Another option is to stick with the additional field option and see it vendini can generate a straight URL for an event for you rather the a button? That way you could add a link in the Meta for your event.

I just took a look at your site and it looks like your sidebars are sizing correctly now. Is this to your satisfaction or would you still like some help. Also let us know if there are any other areas that the upgrade has failed you. We really do want to make the transition to 3.0 as seamless as possible.

Are you all set here? Was that last comment asking for clarification on where to add the code for a button (or whatever you decided to implement) ?

If so I would look through: /views/month/content.php. With the comments you should be able to decipher what code controls what part of the calendar page. If you run into any specific roadblock let us know.

So at first I could not get your code that you sent over to replicate this, but just a while ago I got this to replicate just like you have on your site. I’m still not exactly sure what did it but all of a sudden I have two post displaying and three comment boxes, I beat you by one ;). I’m going to loop a developer in on this and see what’s going on here as its a little over my head. Bare with me and I’ll get them to take a look at this ASAP. It does indeed seem like its something in the theme files, but one of the devs should be able to pinpoint it faster then I can.

Thanks for the clarification. As this is a little bit more of a customization I woulds say its a outside of the scope of our support on this forum. Have you tried reading up on the themers guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/. I’d also have a read through the documentation: http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/

I think the short answer would be that this isn’t just a shortcode that can be added to the page. You would more then likely have to write a query to handle this efficiently.

Hope that gets you started, and you find a solution that works well for your site.

Can you tell me if you have made any changes to any of the event view templates? Maybe even commented anything out? I can see this happening on your end but not able to reproduce it on my set up so I’m wondering if there is something in your settings that could be causing this. If you have made any changes, maybe send us a copy of the file via snippi.com and we’ll see if we can get to bottom of this.
