    Hi Leann,

    Was there more to your comment or did we get the most important part above?

    Hi Leann,

    Thanks for you message. Just a few questions so as to understand you issue a little better.

    When you say that you have created a custom sidebar for the events page, can you tell me if you have created a template for one (i.e. coded) ? Or that you have done so via the backend of WP by selecting specific widgets to display on the events page. If the latter is the case can you tell me if you are making use of any other plugins to do that?

    Once we get that info we’ll be able to dig a little deeper and follow up with some more specific information.
    Thanks

    Hi Alain,

    Thanks for your question and I hope you’re liking the 3.0 so far!

    I just chatted to a few team members about this and here’s what we recommend to begin with.
    In the file single-event.php is a function called:
    tribe_event_featured_image()
    In this function you can pass the image a specific size:
    tribe_event_featured_image('my_image_size')
    Remember that you will have to override the template for this to work. If you haven’t already seen it, the new documentation page might help as look up for some of these functions: http://docs.tri.be/. Specifically the function you are looking for is here: http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/function-tribe_event_featured_image.html

    Hope that helps and let me know if that was the method you were already using.

    Hi Ali,

    Was there an area in particular of that thread, that’s a roadblock to you? Have you modified a plugin like this previously? If not it might be helpful to have a read through some of the info here in the new documents: http://docs.tri.be/ – You may have already seen this, but its new to 3.0.

    Alternatively, if its something specifically about the arguments in that previous thread thats causing an issue, let us know and we can try and point you in the right direction.

    Hi again Ali,

    I just found this thread that might help you out:

    Show only today's events

    However for this to work in 3.0 you will need to add this code to the solution above, as this solution was originally prepared in the 2.0 lifecycle :
    'eventDisplay'=>'custom'

    If this isn’t what you were looking for, try giving us a few examples or scenarios and we’ll see if we can point you in the right direction.

    Hi Ali,

    Thanks for your question. Just so I can confirm are you looking to only show a particular days events in that list view? For example, today is the 11th of July, so you just want events for the 11th to display today? But tomorrow the 12th will display everything for the 12th?

    Hi Genesis,

    I can see the issue now in the link you provided. Have you made any changes to the plugin since the 3.0 update? Also it might be a good idea to try switching to a default theme like twenty twelve to test and see if there is a conflict with the theme you are currently using and the plugin. I’d also disable each of you plugins one by one and see if any of those are causing an issue. Once you’ve done that and ruled out that none of those things are causing the problem we can dig a little deeper.

    Just incase you didn’t see all of that code block (it scrolls left to right):

    remove_action(‘tribe_events_single_event_after_the_content’, array(‘TribeiCal’, ‘single_event_links’));

    Hi englandrm

    Thanks for getting in contact with us. Those are great questions.

    I have a link for you for one of those items:

    First the heading at the top of the calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/alter-or-remove-heading/

    For the iCal and Google Calendar buttons you can add a line of code in your functions.php file which removes it for you:

    remove_action('tribe_events_single_event_after_the_content', array('TribeiCal', 'single_event_links'));

    For the venues in the event details I would first like to ask the what your goal is with this, just to make sure I’m giving you the best answer. Are you planning on re-formatting it or maybe getting rid of the venue displaying all together? If so there maybe a way to do this without removing that code from the file, therefore protecting the functionality for future use, just in case you’d like to use it again later.

    Hope that helps for now, and feel free to get back to me regarding the venues and I can get that sorted out for you too.

    Hi Opcfw,

    As promised I’m Just giving you an update on this from the team. There is still plans to include this importer in a later release of the 3.0 lifecycle. This would include a general importer for different aspects of the events plugin, not just for venues. There is a lot of interest in this feature so we are hopping to include it very soon.

    As I mentioned before please let us know if there is any more we can do for you and feel free to open another ticket with any other issues. I’ll mark this thread as closed in the mean time. Thanks for your support and getting in touch with us.

    Hi Cynthia,

    Thanks for spotting this one. The help file does have images from 2.0 but this is still a relevant fix in 3.0. You may not be seeing the upsell info as its now formatted a little different. Its now on the General tab of Events -> Settings. Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like: http://d.pr/i/rImT

    We checked all those solutions before the 3.0 release and on checking again today that fix will still work.

    Let us know if that clears this all up for you.

    Hi Opcfw,

    I’m very sorry that we didn’t get back to you sooner. With the release of 3.0 and the holiday weekend in the US we had a very limited support team available over the last few days. We are now back to our normal 24 hour window of support.

    As I see from your last comment, it looks like you may have this out. I will pass your comments along regarding having this as a feature in future updates. I will also just check with the team and also see if there are any solutions in the works at the moment. You are quite right that there has been talk about similar functionality in the past, but I’d like to check in with a few team members who may have dealt specifically with that before I give you any details, especially since we are now just after releasing 3.0

    Thanks again for your comments, and please let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Hi Swissvegan.

    Thanks for splitting all your issues up into separate threads like this. Its very helpful for us so that we can get you the right support. I see this issue with the “continue reading” link in the calendar tooltip in the link you provided

    I have checked with our developers and it looks like a language file update it is on the books for an early fix which we will be trying to release ASAP. If you can just bear with us a little longer we should be able to get a fix for this. In the mean time I will work with the team and specifically take a look at the German translations.

    Thanks for your patience and your info when reporting this.

    Hi Swissvegan

    Thanks for getting in contact with us. I see this issue on the link you have provided. Before we delve any deeper I’d like to know if there is anything specifically conflicting with the plugin. Therefore, would you be able to revert to a default template such as twenty-twelve and see if the issue is still occurring then. If that doesn’t seem to do anything, then try deactivating your plugins, one by one and see if any of them help with the issue. Once we’ve narrowed this down or isolated the issue, we’ll be able to give you a better idea on how to fix it.

    Let us know when you do that and what the outcome was. This will guy us a clearer picture.

    Thanks

    Cynthia,

    Thats great to hear! Thanks for your patience and detailed info! It really does help us on our end. We are going to mark the specific portion of this thread as the correct answer for any future user looking for this solution. As such I will close this thread out, but feel free to start any new threads with any other issues you might be having.

    elizas729, I will also include you on this comment. If there is anything we can do to help you also feel free to start a new thread and we can give you the support you need too. Otherwise the solution that we have marked above should be all you need for your situation too.

    Thanks again for your support!
    Sincerely
    Neill
