Thanks for jumping in here Bizzalmedia, its always great to hear about other peoples experience and what they learned.

One other thing I failed to link to in my original post was our Customization Resource: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/ – this might help if you do go the route of customizing the plugin to fit your needs.

    Hi Willy!

Sorry for the delay. We’ve had a very busy helpdesk the last few days.

Our Events Calendar Pro has a Mini Calendar grid view, Advanced Upcoming Events List, Featured Venue and even a countdown widget to your next event. These are all managed as a widget.

What you may be looking for might be slightly more customized, but there’s a chance the divi theme might have that area that you are trying to get these events to display in, set up as a widget area.

We unfortunately do not have a demo of the plugin working in this particular way, but bear in mind that although we can’t help you with customizations, if you do purchase a Pro subscription, we offer premium support and may be able to point you in the right direction to get that working the way you need.

You can also read our Refund Policy which gives you some time to play with the plugin and reach out for support if you need it.

    Hi Tobias,

I’m sorry for the delayed reply, we’ve been experiencing higher then usual support volume this week.

The functionality you are explaining above, does not come with The Events Calendar or the premium version of Events Calendar Pro.

We have seen some success with some customers using this plugin for events that are split between public facing events and private/account/subscription based events, but these were customizations that the individual customers have developed on their own. These can be further filtered via categories and tags that you might be able to achieve what you are looking for in the application of a training program.

While we do offer support for the plugin both via the wp.org forum and via our own helpdesk if you purchase a subscription for Events Calendar Pro, we do not assist with customizations. We can at time point you in the right direction e.g. we have a Customizations Page that has a few resources to get you started.

    Hope this gets you started.

    Hi Martin

Sorry for the delay in response time. We have had unusually high support volume this week.

We are unfortunately unable to provide support through our Pre-Sales forum channel, but you can head over to The Events Calendar WordPress.org support forums for assistance and answers.

If you have a PRO license, you can log into your account and get assistance through the PRO forums. If you need to reset your password, you can do so here. This will send an email to the account used when you initially registered for the support forums.

If on the other hand you are not sure about all of that your first step will be to confirm if you are indeed running the Pro version of the plugin. You can do that by looking at your list of plugins. If you see the-events-calendar-pro in there then head over to Events > Settings in the side bar, navigate to the license tab and check to see if you have a license key filled in, in that field. From there it should tell you if its is expired, or if you need to purchase a subscription.

Thanks for understanding and good luck resolving your issue. Have a good day

    Hi Suzi,

Sorry for the delay in responding, we’ve had an unusually busy week.

Out of the box, Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro does not do what you requested above. The functionality you are looking for is part of “Events Aggregator” – you can read more about that product here: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/event-aggregator/

That page states, towards the end under “Facebook” tab, that Event Aggregator supports “event imports from Facebook pages, groups, and individuals. Imports can be run on an automatic schedule or processed manually to pull in new events and keep your calendar synced with the most up-to-date information from the event organizer.”

The only other plugin that is required to run this is the community version of The Events Calendar which you can download for free here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/

Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any others

    Hi Jayesh,

Firstly sorry for the delay in response we are experiencing high support volumes at present. Please bear with us as we get back on top of the load.

Sorry to hear about your recurring events difficulties. Would you be able to confirm a few things for me?

Firstly – can you confirm that you have no other plugins running when you see this issue? You can do this by deactivating everything other then Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, and Community Events. It would be wise to also confirm the same with the theme you are running, try reverting to a default theme and see what the result is then.

Another useful piece of information is if this is occurring when you are creating events from the admin. the community events front end, or both?

Lastly – would you be able to include your system info in the ticket too? Here’s an article explaining why thats important and how to do that: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Once you have tried those few things, let us know the result and we can dig deeper. If you do have any links, screenshots or additional info that you think will be useful don’t hesitate to include those also.

    Thanks Neill

    Hi Chris,

My Name is Neill and as the PM here for support I just wanted to follow up and let you know that we are going to keep this thread open. We wanted to be clear here that there is indeed some room in our code for improvement, and as soon as we review this a little more with some dev and QA time we will work on a fix that may be included in an upcoming maintenance release.

Leaving this ticket opens means we can keep the conversation open if we have any more specific questions while troubleshooting, and allows us to notify you as soon as a fix becomes available.

To be clear, where you pinpointed the exact code, are you referring to the query in your first forum post, or have you opened a pull request or added a note via Github?

Thank you again for you initial report and for taking the extra steps here to help us dig deeper.

    Hi Kindra,

Are you using the Additional Field Options from the Settings Page?

i.e. in the WordPress admin side bar go to: Events > Settings and click on the “Additional Fields” tab.

From here you can set up an additional field to be displayed as part of the ticket set up when you add a new event. For example – I just set up a T-Shirt Size option and when I save that – it now shows up on the event creation page: https://cloudup.com/cYzokyYowIE

At times some users confuse this feature and how it works with the general WordPress function on each Custom Post Type page: “Custom Fields”

If I got this wrong again, my apologies, but hopefully this is where the confusion is. If I am misunderstanding and you have indeed set this up the right way – maybe you can give us a little more details with how you set this particular scenario up – with steps to try and recreate on our end. Look out for any errors that might be displaying on the front end which could be exposed via the code inspector. Also making use of screenshots and screencasts can help us get to the bottom of this issue quickly.

Let me know if this works

    Hi Erica!

Sorry to hear about your display woes. Ans as far as where to start the support team here is a good start 😉

It looks like you clicked the box in the forum that says you did try using a default theme. Are you still seeing an issue when that happens? If not – what theme are you using?

Also – to be clear on some of the issues, I see the following from your screenshot:

    – Filter bar category drop town options are cut off
    – Submit button text looks like its not aligned correctly

Is there anything else that the screenshot isn’t showing? Additionally this blog post talks a little about theme conflicts: https://theeventscalendar.com/compatible-themes-the-events-calendar/ – this might help you pick out some specific issues you might be seeing and help point those out to us.

Let me know what you find and we’ll see if we can dig a little deeper for you.

    Hi Kindra

Thanks for getting in contact with us. I noticed that you had another ticket that George was helping you with, and from the context it looks like you may have got past this road block.

If not, and you still have the issue, could you give me a few more details about what you are trying to achieve? Maybe some steps that you can confirm you have already taken and what you are expecting the results to be. If you have a way to use screenshots or screencasts to explain the issue that can help us to.

Look forward to digging deeper on this issue if its still causing a problem for you.

    Hi Alix

Sorry to hear you were having some troubles with this.

This particular issue has come up a few times and our team has done some thinking around this issue. Unfortunately there is no fix for it in the works at the moment – but we do have a blog post that explains the situation and offers a work around for this issue:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/the-trouble-with-excerpts/

Let me know if this helps in your particular instance?
