MemberHello robinsonjas,
There is a planned fix for this bug and will be coming in one of our upcoming releases. We are working on it as we speak and usually we try to notify users who originally notified us of bugs when the fix will be included in an upcoming release. So keep an eye out for it here in this thread (or more then likely you’ll be auto notified of updated to this thread)
I’ll be closing this thread for now – but feel free to open a new thread if you have any other issues.

MemberHello Mike,
Sorry for the delay here mike – your reply seemed to slip through the cracks. You should be able to change the widget titles in the widgets option in the admin. Here’s a screenshot: https://cloudup.com/cTqXYw6yD3R
If that doesn’t answer your question – maybe send me a screenshot of what exactly you’d like changed and we’ll see if we can point you in the right direction.

MemberHi Patrick,
Thank you for providing this info – it helped to dig a little deeper into your issue.
From what we now see from your snippet and site there may also be a JS error involved. Your symptoms pointed be to what i though was the body class issue – but now I can see the snippet you provided, the theme is actually treating that correctly.
A step that I forgot to get you to take at the start, which I should have done right off the bat, was to get you to check if there is anything else on your install causing a conflict. I would start with all your plugins by disabling them and switching them back on one at a time. If none of that works then I’d try to switch to a default theme too and see how the calendar works.
If you find anything here then I think we may be able to narrow it down to the offending issue.

MemberHello Snyder,
I just want to check in here to see if you are all set or if you want anymore help? As far as I’m aware we did not receive a copy of your theme to test this out yet. Just want to make sure thats the case.
@phatwp widget-list.class.php is located in the event plugins /lib folder. If you need any help please feel free to start a new forum post.– Neill

MemberSnyder,
Apologies about this thread it seems like it fell through the cracks – I’ll make sure you get timely responses to get this resolved from here on out.
As far as getting us the theme a zip would be great. You can either send it to the same email as before or use a service like dropbox and send the link via [email protected]
Being able to change the message should be in widget-list.class.php. Line 131 of that file should be what you are looking for.
Does that help? Let us know if we can still help on the theme issue to. Apologies once more for letting this slip. I’ll keep a very close eye on this thread and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

MemberHi Snyder –
So as you may have seen from your other thread I made an error and replied to both of your current tickets in this thread. Sorry about that. That being the case I have updated the other thread here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/event-category-titles-showing-up-incorrect/ – and you should ignore the last comment above as its unrelated to this current thread.
So with all that confusion out of the way – did you make any headway with the suggestion above? Need any further assistance?

MemberHello Snyder,
It looks like this reply got posted on your other thread – sorry about that. I’ll confirm it here again just so there’s no confusion.
This is in fact a bug as I mentioned before and we are working on getting this fixed as fast as we can. We usually try and alert users that have specifically reported the issue when it will be included in an upcoming release. I’ll add your ticket to the issue so that you get that notice.
In the mean time can you work without using that feature? Maybe switch the widget to “all events” for now? Not ideal I know, but we are working hard on getting a solution to this.

MemberHi there,
Thanks for your questions and I’ll do my best to get you the info you need to help make your decisions.
Firstly, at the moment the plugin does not automatically sort events based on a views zip or IP. However we do have the “Map View” which would give you a graphic representation based on location. You can see this in action over here: http://wpshindig.com/events/map/ – The location field does support zip codes – and produces a result based on miles from your location – see my example here of a zip code in Montana: https://cloudup.com/ccdBKs7mLTH – but this does not do so automatically based on the users IP – it will require user input. You can also make this view the default view that the user will see on loading the page initially.
Secondly, we strive to have our plugin compatible with as many plugins as possible. I can say I’ve seen many issues crop up with those plugins on our support forums – so thats always a good sign 😉 We do offer support on issues like this if they do crop up – and if there’s something we can do on our end to help within the scope of our support we will. However if you are worried about a specific scenario – my best advise is to maybe highlight that to us first, before purchasing, and see if we can give you a more accurate answer based on reviewing that scenarios details.
As to your third question: You don’t technically need to have a license key on each site, as long as you have one on the main site. That will give you access to support and updates. However, without a license key on the other sites you will likely need to manually download and install updates for those sites. If that is problematic for you, then you’d want to purchase the developer license.
Does that answer everything for you? Anything else I can clarify?

MemberHello elleeyeedesign,
Thanks for your patience here over the weekend.
So I think we’ve narrowed your issue down. Unfortunately it seems to be the way your theme deals with page titles. The page title it seems is set in header.php file which is outside of the loop for the event contents.
So a quick solution – which isn’t ideal in your case, but would highlight if we’ve hit the problem on the head is to move the call for the page title within the page template itself. I don’t think this would be a very good long term solution but it would at least show you if the events pages now have the correct titles.
I could test this for you if you do not feel comfortable doing so if you could send us a copy of your theme. If it is the issues I think it is we could then point you in the right direction for a long term solution.
