MemberHi Cynthia,
Sorry you are having such a bumpy ride this go around on the plugin.
So I just want to confirm a few things. According to what you say in your last comment You are getting a 404 on this link: http://events.stcwdc.org/event/stc-wdcb-summer-vision-day-meeting/?
Also you mentioned you are not seeing the event show in the widget and the calendar after the update to 3.0.2, is that correct? If so I’m not seeing those issues on my end. I’m seeing the specific event correctly at the above link and I’m seeing the event show in the sidebar for the upcoming events widget and the widget calendar and the full calendar.
However I am seeing the event show up twice in the list view, which I guess is the original issue. Can you confirm what you are now seeing on your end and we’ll use that as a starting point. Also if there is a difference in the results you are getting see if you can screenshot it and it will be good for us to compare results.

MemberHi goodlooknout
Thanks for the question. Just a quick question back to confirm I understand your question.
Are you talking about the featured image that shows up in the list view? Like I have in this screenshot of your site: http://d.pr/i/ZxoyNeill
MemberHi Cynthia,
So yes the behavior of the plugin is that it will use the style of the theme for elements like this. With your case you’ll want a little more detail so that you can isolate the style in question. To override this, try this:
.tribe-events-adv-list-widget .entry-title {
font-size: 14px;
}Obviously, feel free to change the value of the font size. Let me know if that helps.

MemberHi ompointyoga
Thanks for your question and I hope you like the plugin so far.
Just a quick question to help us point you in the right direction. Are you using a theme that has customization settings on the backend? If so you might find a way to style the element there. You should be able to change the way that is displayed in that setting. If not let us know and I can dig a little deeper.

MemberHi Duvaldemocrats
Sorry for the issues you are having with this. Just a couple of questions for us to get a little deeper. Did you have all your events set up before the upgrade to 3.0? Or are these events that have been created since the upgrade?
Kristy, did you upgrade to 3.0 too? Or is this a fresh install? Also it looks like this event has been created after you upgraded/set up the 3.0 plugin? If you can confirm, that would be really helpful.
Thank you both for your comments and hopefully we can get this resolved quickly for you.

MemberHi Cynthia
It looks like you have a class named .entry-title with a font-size of 26px set. This is on line 740 of your themes style sheet.
Try editing that class and see if that helps.

MemberHi Mike,
Thanks for your question.
For you to get that functionality I believe you would have to work with the events template. I wouldn’t be able to give you specifics on this type of customization as it would require getting into the finer details of the theme that you are working with. If you have experience with theme design and development I’d suggest taking a look at the themer guide here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/ This has all the information you’ll need to get started.I hope this points you in the right direction and feel free to start a new thread with any specific areas you come across.

MemberHi Swissvegan,
After looking into this a little further it look like the “continue reading” link is not actually part of the plugin translation files. This is a WordPress function that appears when there’s not enough room to fit all the text. It look like its also occurring on your blog as I see in this screen shot here: http://d.pr/i/PZGv.
If you take a look at the wordpress codex you should be able to get a little help from their articles. Here’s one to get you going in the right direction: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
Hope that helps for now.

MemberHi Englandrm,
Yes that is a unique little application for this plugin. I can see how the “venue” label would be better changed to a slightly different label
I spoke to a few teammates about this one and came up with a little bit of code here for your functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/neillmcshea/d13ff6c0b77ecf32c8ff#file-gistfile1-php
This little snippet should give you what you need, and in this example we have replaced the venue with “Place” so feel free to change it to what ever you thing would be more appropriate.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with, and thanks again for bearing with us.

MemberAh yes. I thought I had the gist of your comment but just wanted to be sure.
In that case then I’ll refer you to our docs for creating your own templates and specifically all the information you’ll need to get started with hooks and filters. This file has all the info you need to get started and to point you in the right direction.
Let me know if there are any specific roadblocks you come across.
