MemberHey Cynthia,
Ok Well lets try to get to the bottom of this today, I’m sure you’d be happy to get this resolved asap.
Can you tell me what template you are using for the Events Calendar? I’m sure you know where to check this, but just in case: Events > Settings > Display and check what drop down is selected in the Events Template field.
If you are using something other then the Default Events Template then let us know what is selected. Then maybe you can send us a snippet of the page.php of the template you are using. One step further then that, if possible, would be to send us a .zip of the whole template, that we we can install it on our end and get an idea whats going on. If you .zip the template then maybe drop us a private link to it via dropbox or another service.
I’ll be around most of the day and should be able to get some help working through this, I’d love to get to the bottom of this before the end of the day for you, so you have it fixed for the weekend.
Thanks Cynthia

ParticipantThat sounds great and I’d love to send you a zip but there is something wrong with the file server today and I can’t get to the file list. The server keeps timing out. I guess this will have to wait until Monday.

MemberWell if you can let us know what Event Template option is being used and maybe even copy and paste the page.php of that template via http://snippi.com/ then we may be able to look through that to begin with and make a few suggestions.

MemberThanks Cynthia,
I’m downloading those zips right now and will plug them in to my test environment to see if I can get to the bottom of this. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Sorry it has been a little bit back and forth. I’ll let you know if I find anything or if I have any question.s

MemberHey Cynthia,
So I got your zip installed and running on my side, but I guess I should have been a little clearer. We’d would need a copy of the “Events” template files also. What you have sent is great, and it runs on my end, but I’m not able to see the customization you’ve made to the events templates and check to see if there is anything in there that is causing the issue.

ParticipantNeil,
The only customized Events file I am using is the single-day.php override file that Barry created to answer the post https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/webmaster-tools-flooded-with-404s/ (see the checked Answer in that post). It is in the tribe-events folder in the first zip I sent you along with the tribe-events.css file.July 30, 2013 at 2:27 am #57721Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantAdditional info.: I noticed a new post at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/fullwidth-template-problem-2/ that talks about two different problems. The second part is that he also has a second comment form on his event description page.

MemberCynthia,
So at first I could not get your code that you sent over to replicate this, but just a while ago I got this to replicate just like you have on your site. I’m still not exactly sure what did it but all of a sudden I have two post displaying and three comment boxes, I beat you by one ;). I’m going to loop a developer in on this and see what’s going on here as its a little over my head. Bare with me and I’ll get them to take a look at this ASAP. It does indeed seem like its something in the theme files, but one of the devs should be able to pinpoint it faster then I can.
Thanks for baring with us and getting that code over to me.

ParticipantWell, you did beat me! Did you notice my earlier post above about finding someone else who has the same problem–he has two comment forms on his page at the bottom of http://www.synergia3.com/evento/presentacion-wideo/ It doesn’t look like he is using the same theme that I am. Maybe others do also–they just need to scroll further down to the bottom of their page?

MemberHi Cynthia,
thanks for your update and your willingness to help in the other post too. I am just about to jump on that post too and see if there is anything similar to your two situations. I have passed this on to a developer who is taking a look at it at the moment. Stay tuned we’ll be back shortly.

MemberHi Cynthia,
Just a quick update for you. We found the issue. One of our developers worked with your theme and files you provided and we were able to reproduce the issue. It is in fact a bug, but one that we should be able to fix in a release very soon here.
It looks like when the “Enable Comments” gets selected on the Settings of events, it gets called twice if your theme settings allow comment also.
In the mean time here’s a quick fix: https://gist.github.com/jazbek/6136353
Let me know how you are fixed after trying this. Thanks again with your patience, and help!

MemberGlad to hear it. I close this out for now and you should see a fix for this in a coming release.
Thanks again for your help Cynthia
