ParticipantHad this one sorted a few months ago, but suddenly not working again-
I searched (+searched) and couldn’t find much in the way of answers, but can’t for the life of me figure out why the calendar widget is blowing out of the sidebar.
In looking at the CSS, the problem seems to creep in with the “table.tribe-mini-calendar” class as something in there is expanding the table way beyond the 267px allotted for it. I see a couple of theme classes that appear to add a few pixels, but nothing to account for the huge (relative term I realize!) increase. Also, what happend to Sunday on the calendar?
Thanks for your help and for getting the fix up for PRO this AM so quickly!

MemberHi Zeke,
Thanks for your message. Sorry you are having this issue. I just checked your URL and can see the issue on my end also.
You mentioned above that you reverted to the 2011 default theme. What was the result of that? Just from looking through the code available to me through the inspector I’m guessing there is a conflict from the theme you are using. If you reverted back to the default theme and the issue didn’t show up there, then that would confirm that.
I don’t have a way of testing this specifically on my end other then playing with the CSS in the inspector but it looks like you might have a conflict within your custom CSS file. I noticed specifically on line 488 of this file you have some custom css to deal with the sidebar styling. I tried removing that and the calendar reverted back to the correct size and within the boundaries of the widget area. Where you trying to give the sidebar widget any specific customization when you added this in? If so let us know and we’ll see if we can point you in the right direction of customizing without causing a conflict.

ParticipantI appreciate the effort – just not seeing it though. (It’s a bit frustrating, because this has been working fine for several months, but suddenly reverted to this and I can’t for the life of me remember how we dealt with it)
I actually found an older (working version) on a different server, so we’ll take a close look at that and see what modifications we’d made.
Thanks for your help on this –

Glad to hear you’re getting closer. Let us know if you isolate the issue and need any pointers in the right direction.

ParticipantThank Neill,
I can see the issues now – it appears that all the underlying classes and structure have changed – so our fixes don’t work anymore.
Back to the drawing board 🙂July 23, 2013 at 11:59 am #56599Neill
MemberHi Zeke,
We actually have some new info in the support documentations that might help:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/
Scroll down to: “Customizing Styles”. This was just published yesterday so let us know if it helps.

ParticipantThanks Neill,
Didn’t help as much as I would have hoped – I guess what I’d really like is a “how to make your calendar look and work as it did before the upgrade” document 🙂
All the changes with the new calendar have really wreaked havoc on our site and we’re not much closer to getting things sorted. Among other things, there really appears to be something in the calendar that’s driving the width out beyond the allocated area for our sidebar. Nothing to do with our theme beyond the fact that the sidebar area is a bit smaller than most of the “traditional” themes.July 31, 2013 at 2:49 pm #58140Neill
MemberHi Zeke,
I’m very sorry for the late reply, this thread seemed to slip through the cracks. Apologies for that.
I just took a look at your site and it looks like your sidebars are sizing correctly now. Is this to your satisfaction or would you still like some help. Also let us know if there are any other areas that the upgrade has failed you. We really do want to make the transition to 3.0 as seamless as possible.

ParticipantNo worries Neill.
No, I never was able to get 3.0 working properly on this site we scrapped it and downgraded to the older (working) version. The sidebar widget just changed too much with this upgrade, and even if the sizing could be worked out we still couldn’t use it.
Appreciate the willingness the help out thoughAugust 2, 2013 at 3:46 pm #58587Neill
MemberHi Zeke,
Sorry to hear this. When you decide to run with the latest version please let us know. Maybe try implementing it on a test site first and we may be able to help you iron out any issues there first.
I’ll close this thread out but feel free to open a new one if and when you want to tackle those issues.
