    Hi Dylan,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂

Just to be sure it’s the same bug as the one on the thread you’re referring to, could you confirm you see a JavaScript error stating that “tribe_js_config is not defined”?

Meanwhile, you can always downgrade our plugin to a previous version so that your users can still use your website: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/

    Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the clarification. So it seems like there’s a conflict between our plugin and your theme.

Did it work normally before you contacted us? Could you make sure your theme is up-to-date?

If your website was working properly before the latest update of our plugin, you may downgrade our plugin to a previous version: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/ (until we figure out where the problem comes from exactly and how to fix it).

Also, I don’t understand why you have 2 calendar pages, which behave in 2 different ways:

What do you mean by “all the links in the calendar are now linking to the calendar itself and not to the page on the website”? Could you send me a screenshot or give me more details?

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi Sandy,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂

The correct way to override the single-venue template is to put the file in your theme under [your-theme]/tribe-events/pro/single-venue.php, like you did.

Which changes did you make to this template? Could you send me your theme in a zip file so that I could have a look at it?

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi Stephan,

It’s likely it’s a bug we have recently identified. Could you just confirm that you see, on the submission page, you see a JavaScript error stating that “tribe_js_config is not defined”?

    Cheers,

    Hi Kellsey,

    Thank you for the clarification.

To display the tax as a “fee” instead of “tax”, you can use a plugin such as Say What. Once the plugin is activated, add a new “Text change”. For “Original string”, you will enter “tax”. For “Text domain”, “event-tickets-plus”. And for “Replacement string”, “fee”.

Regarding your main issue, there might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

Then, please re-share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Let us know what you find out.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi Kellsey,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂

Do you mean taxes are charged when you buy a ticket from a desktop, but not from a mobile?

And what do you mean by display the tax as a ‘fee’ instead of ‘tax’?

Also, you might find some useful resources in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/woocommerce-and-vat-taxes/

    Hi,

Could you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG? This will create a debug.log file inside the /wp-content directory.

After that, try loading the page a few times, so potential errors will be saved into the debug.log file. Please share that log file with us so we can see if any problem from there.

I know you followed our article on Performance Considerations, but maybe it would help to implement a caching system. You’ll find useful resources in these articles: Caching: What, when and how and Caching month view HTML in transients

Finally, I would recommend this good article where George writes about our favorite developer plugins. It’s a bit more technical than the others but will definitely be of help if you are into development.

Let me know how that goes.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi,

I can confirm it’s a bug and several other users have recently reported this issue as well.

I added this thread to the bug report, and I’m going to change the status of this thread as “Pending fix”, so that we could warn you as soon as the bug fix is released (for now, I can’t give you a release date).

Thank you for your patience and understanding 🙂

    Hi Sandra,

Thanks for sharing your System Information 🙂

However I can’t see any obvious cause to your problem. So we need to keep investigating. You said your calendar seemed to work when you deactivated all the plugins and reverted to Twenty Seventeen: does it work with all other plugins deactivated and your normal theme? Does it work with all plugins activated and Twenty Seventeen?

Once you know for sure the problem comes from a plugin and not your theme, you might deactivate all your plugins and activate them one by one until you find out which one is in conflict with our plugin.

Ideally, you would do those tests on a staging environment. If you can’t use a staging site, then you may consider using a plugin like Plugin Detective and/or Health Check, each of which provide a troubleshooting mode that aims to ensure your site will continue to operate as normal for regular visitors.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for doing those tests. I had a look at the Noo iVent theme page, and it’s written it’s compatible with our plugin. Apparently, this theme offers a full integration with our plugin: therefore, they must have customized some of our templates files, and this might have cause some unwanted side-effects.

When did you noticed that problem? After a recent update of our plugin? Or after a recent update of your theme? In case the issue happened after you updated your plugin, you can always roll back to a previous version (you’ll find the instructions to downgrade on this page). And I would also recommend you to contact the support of Noo iVent, as they might be better placed than us to solve this issue.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Hi Zachary,

I don’t know why I couldn’t reach your website yesterday, but now it’s working.

I had a look at your events page, and noticed that abnormal behavior you were referring to. Could you make sure your Events Calendar plugins are updated (TEC 4.6.22 and PRO 4.4.31) and that your other plugins and your themes are up-to-date as well?

Following the instructions on the documentation testing for conflicts, could you deactivate all other plugins to see if that makes a difference? Could you switch to the default theme (Twenty Seventeen)?

Please let me know how it goes.

    Cheers,

    Hi Zindzi,

Thanks for your interest in our plugins!

Well, you wouldn’t find a solution out of the box by getting one of our premium plugins. In order to achieve that feature, you would need to customize our template files.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Zachary,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂

I tried to visit your website but it is inaccessible.

So I’m not sure what the problem is, but as a first step, I would recommend you to follow our instruction about testing for conflicts.

Please let me know what you find out during the process.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
