KeymasterGlad to hear it, you are welcome back in our support forums any time!

KeymasterOkay, sounds good.
You can also add this idea to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

KeymasterHi Ron,
You should leave the plugin code as is, and the code you add to your theme will be used to overwrite it, which is why you saw a loss of functionality there.
You can also try the Javascript code in the same article and add that to your functions.php file instead.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
JaimeJaime Marchwinski
KeymasterHi Alexandra,
Thanks for providing that information.
Can you confirm that you still see this issue with a default WordPress theme, like ‘Twentyseveteen’?
In addition, can you provide me with a link to the page where you are seeing this issue?
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterI apologize if the documentation is confusing. I have tested this functionality out on my own site and Google Calendar, and what I found is that the event will update if the Event Update Authority is set to Overwrite.
It will not update if the Event Update Authority is set to “preserve changes”.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Brandon,
Thanks for trying that.
As a next step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterAs I mentioned, I still haven’t been able to replicate this issue.
In that case, if you’re up for it, can you provide me with a database dump, via a third-party plugin like Duplicator, so that we can try to replicate what you are seeing.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Barbara,
You may be able to alter the pushpin with some CSS or find a different one to suit your needs, however this is beyond the scope of support that we can provide.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Barbara,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Just to let you know, we are limited by our Support Policy in how much we can help with customizations, but I will try to point you in the right direction.
I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.
You can change your Map pushpins by going to your WordPress Customizer < The Events Calendar < Global Elements.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi John,
Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in our products!
With Event Tickets Plus, you can allow your users to register for your courses.
With the addition of a third-party plugin, like WooCommerce Deposits, you may be able to add the functionality that you are describing.
We cannot make any guarantees about plugin compatibility, however we have a great 30-day full refund policy, so if things really don’t work out the way you’d hoped, you can get a full refund.
Also, feel free to check out our demo site here.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterThanks so much for reaching out again!
If an event changes dates, the event should update when the event is re-imported on your site if you have the Event Update Authority set to overwrite changes from the source.
Can you try changing your Event Update Authority and see if that helps?
You can read more about that here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/#update-authority
As for events deleted from your Google Calendar, you will need to delete those events manually from your site, as that feature is not currently available through Event Aggregator.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Michael,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue on your site. As a first step, can you go to Eventbrite.com and visit your Account Settings.
From there go to Developer Links < App Management and see the key that is associated with your site. Can you delete the key there and start over that way?
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterThanks for providing me with that information.
It looks like the notice that you are seeing is related to your theme. Do you have all other theme-related plugins disabled there as well?
In addition, can you try updating all of your Events Calendar related plugins to see if this issue still occurs after doing so?
Let me know what you find!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Frans,
If you go to Settings < General, you can change the New User Default Role to Author. Or you can explore the other roles available and select the role that best matches the capabilities that you’d like:
https://thethemefoundry.com/blog/wordpress-user-roles/
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime
