After reviewing your request this essentially looks like a custom development task and so is outside of our stated scope of support.
With that being said, we’d love to help point you in the right direction.
I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to attempt the results that you are looking for.
If you’d prefer not to tackle this customization on your own, we <i>may</i> be able to assist you further. We do need to prioritize support requests from other customers at this time but I’ll certainly flag this with the team and – although we can’t make any promises – if we have time and space to come back and help, we’ll be happy to do so. Please let us know if you’d like to go this route so that you can be added to this queue.
In the meantime, if there is any more information you can share (including mocks) that will help us to better understand what you are seeking please do feel free to add them to this ticket.
If you urgently need help with this, however, you may instead wish to consider working with a suitably skilled developer or designer who can offer the additional level of support you require.

Okay I understand now. So you’d like the calendar to open on the month with events, rather than the current month?
Are you looking for this functionality on the main calendar or when embedding a calendar view via shortcode?

I’m glad to hear that your new ticket appears to be working correctly! Are you able to re-create one of the tickets that was not working properly and see if that resolves the issue?
You can try moving the ticket, as in the following tutorial:

KeymasterHi Jeff,
You can certainly add RSVPs to each of your events, even if they have the same name. You can also create a recurring event in order to populate the calendar and then break events from the series in order to add individual RSVPs for each event.
You can import events from your Google Calendar and then add RSVPs to those events once they have been imported to your site. If the events have the same name but different dates, they will still be imported and appear on the date that they are listed at.

In other words, if you have a category page without any events within that category in the current month, then the previous and next arrows will not show up? Are you displaying this category page with a shortcode? If so, can you provide me with that shortcode so that I can try to replicate the issue on my end?
