ParticipantHey Josh,
Thanks for clarifying things here – you unfortunately cannot use recurring events to have an event occurring multiple times in one day 🙁
So, let’s so you have an Event that happens every Monday and Wednesday with three sections:
Section A, at 11am on M and W.
Section B, at 1pm on M and W.
Section C, at 3pm on M and W.
You would NOT be able to have on recurring even that satisfies these time parameters 🙁
You would need to make one event for Section A, with a start time at 11am and whatever end time it has. Then, this event can recur every Monday and Wednesday at this start time and end time.
And then for Section B, you’d need to create a new, separate event with start time at 1pm and whatever end time is appropriate. Then, make this event a recurring event of its own, that recurs every Monday and Wednesday…
And so on.
Does this make more sense? I’m sorry if this is a bummer, but at this time this is an inherent limitation of the recurring events features.
Thank you for your patience here!
Sincerely,
GeorgeJanuary 11, 2016 at 11:56 am in reply to: Organizer unable to email attendee list in EC Pro 4.03 #1054061George
ParticipantThis does make sense Ameet, and I appreciate both your patience and your elaboration on things here. I have reached out to get some eyes on this and we are looking into this, though at this time not at much of an expedited pace. Zach, for example, is unfortunately out of office this week, and so this bug ticket is operating at the same pace of other bug tickets.
I’m trying elevate that priority – you’re right about how much valuable feedback you have provided over recent months. I will keep this thread updated if I learn more about this bug.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks for this information – and for your patience with this issue!
When you set WP_DEBUG to true, if there is an error it will display literally at the top of any page on your site.
Is this the case? The “error” reported earlier is claiming to be a FATAL ERROR, which means that your site should literally be a blank white screen with this error on it once you change WP_DEBUG to true.
1. Does this happen?
2. Does the error display anywhere at all, on the actual front-end of your site?
To clarify, what I would recommend is to head to your site’s wp-config.php file and make the following changes:
Find this code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);Change that to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);AND THEN add the following line of code RIGHT BELOW that line:
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true );Save the file, and then see if the error displays on the actual pages of your website itself – not in any logs, not in that plugin, but just literally on the output of the page itself.
Let me know what you find,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThank you for this information!
Your system information reveals The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro are network-activated. However, if you do not “Network activate” them but instead activate them on a subsite-by-subsite basis on your site network, does anything improve?
Just in case you’re not familiar with exactly what I mean here, check out the following WordPress Codex article on this topic: https://codex.wordpress.org/Multisite_Network_Administration#Plugins
Thank you,
GeorgeP.S.
It’s only one version behind, but your WordPress core version is currently at 4.3.1 – the most recent version of WordPress is 4.4.1 – try updating that just to cover all the bases (it’s also more secure than 4.3.1, so it’s a good idea regardless of issues with The Events Calendar).

ParticipantThank you for the update @Laughmasters. By the same token, our own CSS does not cause this spacing issue and nor does the plugin’s default markup. The origin of these problems is specific to your site, and thus solving them would require custom CSS like I have recommended above.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantWow, I am very very sorry that I did not suggest changing private events to public! I was unaware of this detail because I misread your earlier comment where you said the events were private.
Apologies for this, @Barback. But thank you for posting the progress here.
At this time, events will need to be public. Private events are not supported but this is a bug, not by design, so I will make a bug ticket and we can hopefully patch this up over the next few releases.
Stay tuned to plugin releases! If there is a fix in any given release for this bug, it will be noted in the release’s changelog notes and/or at http://theeventscalendar.com/blog, so stay tuned to both things.
Best of luck with your site in the meantime!
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey @Kate,
I’m sorry that this does not help. Since this is a customization, you’ll have to take the reins from here. You can modify the template files according to our themer’s guide here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
Simply do a “search” inside your code editor for any of the HTML classes to find where they’re being generated, and you’ll be able to tinker around and get this looking exactly how you’d like.
Since this is a customization and we cannot provide any help with that, I will close up this thread. Sorry my earlier attempt at doing so was not useful!
Best of luck with your customizations,

ParticipantHey @sitecrafting,
Thanks for all of this information – updating manually via upload and stuff should not normally be a problem. Can you elaborate a bit on exactly what you did to install the plugins that way? Again, this shouldn’t be a problem, but since I still cannot recreate this problem I’m just curious to learn more in any way.
Thanks for your patience with this!
Sincerely,
GeorgeJanuary 11, 2016 at 11:27 am in reply to: Error message on our site regarding the Events Calendar #1054038George
ParticipantThanks for this information!
This information reveals that you are using WooCommerce Tickets, which is a defunct plugin now.
The first order of business here now is to replace WooCommerce Tickets with the two new plugins that replace it: Event Tickets, and Event Tickets Plus.
You can learn more about this process here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/
Once you do that process, you should be able to delete WooCommerce Tickets from your site. Once you do all of this, let me know if issues persist.
Thanks!
GeorgeJanuary 11, 2016 at 11:08 am in reply to: Event Calender Pro causes error in theme customiser #1054033George
ParticipantThank you for this information!
I unfortunately still cannot reproduce the problem, and nothing in your system information looks outright problematic, so I would recommend running through the complete set of troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
After EACH STEP in that process, open your theme customizer and see if this issue persists.
I’m sorry that this is the only available step from here, but as of now this issue is not something we can recreate and so it appears to be a code conflict. The steps I recommended above will reveal if that’s the case.
Let us know what you find!
Thank you,

ParticipantThis is an official GO 🙂 Thanks for confirming Hans! [Sorry for not making that clearer earlier.]
Thank you,

ParticipantThanks for the update @Matthew! I’m glad to hear about this progress on your site.
I will go ahead and close up this issue for now – but if other issues ever arise, come back and open a new thread any time.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey @Barback,
Thanks for elaborating a bit. If you have made code customizations, that may indeed be the culprit here.
If you are not certain you have removed your customizations and want to do a “clean re-install” of these plugins again, then the process is very simple and straightforward for that. Here’s how to do it:
1. Back up your site. The following steps WILL NOT delete any data from your site, bet it’s best to be safe with this. Not sure how to back up your site? If you google “how to backup a wordpress site”, you’ll find that there are many many options for backing up a site. Choose one that works for you and that you can do – please back up your site before doing further steps. If you proceed without a backup, you are doing so at your own risk.
2. Delete – not just “deactivate”, but DELETE – whichever plugins you customized. If that’s just The Events Calendar, then just delete The Events Calendar. If it’s multiple plugins, then delete all of them.
3. Once delete, get fresh files for the respective plugins and then install them on your site and see if issues persist.

For any premium plugins, “latest files” can be found here: http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads
For The Events Calendar and Event Tickets, their files can be found here respectively:

ParticipantThanks for some elaboration here, Laura.
I appreciate your feedback, it will help us make a better product. While there will not be immediate changes based on this, if any improvements to the RSVP layout are made they will be published in upcoming release. So, stay tuned to plugin updates and to http://theeventscalendar.com/blog – if there are RSVP improvements, they will be noted there!
As for your site, if you need to make more customizations that is something you and your developer will have to take the reins on.
So with that in mind, I will close up this thread for now.
If other issues arise, though, come back any time and open a new thread 🙂
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Alex,
Yes, a scanning app is required to scan the codes. We don’t make one ourselves, but there is a litany of options for iOS, Android, and other platforms. Here’s a general overview of the scanning process:
1. Get an App for your phone or tablet that can read QR codes (Scan for IOS is what I use)
2. Setup the Scanner App to open in a browser or in the app itself
3. Sign into your site on the device that you will be using to scan the codes.
4. Scan the QR Codse. You will get a success message such as “This Ticket with ID xxxx was checked in.” for each succesful check-in.
I hope this helps!
