ParticipantHi, newbie alert. Love Events Pro. Added your free tickets. Created an event. Included rsvp. Previewed it. Well, here’s a link. Is the RSVP process supposed to look like this? It’s not at all intuitive. Bizarre actually. http://www.livehannahshope.org/event/the-work-support-group/2016-01-15/ (hope I’m allowed to post this link)

ParticipantHey @Laura,
Thanks for reaching out.
I checked out the link you shared – which is not only fine to share, by the way, but very helpful! You can post any link to the front-end of your site and should, just no links to the admin.
The RSVP section is accurate in terms of being built – you choose how many RSVPs you would like to make, enter your name and email address, and then click “Confirm RSVP”.
1. If you mean that the appearance of this RSVP section is not what you envisioned, then unfortunately the appearance of everything on your site is dictated by your theme. The RSVP section is no exception – so, to tweak the design of it you can reach out to your theme developer or hire a professional developer to tweak the design appearance.
2. If you do NOT mean the literal appearance, but rather the functionality itself, can you clarify specifically what is not intuitive about this? And then how you envision this working instead, specifically?
Thank you!

ParticipantGeorge!!!!!!!!!!! Best experience with support I’ve ever had! You win!
Next stop, my developer. I’m going to leave this open until I hear from him. Why? Because I like you. 🙂

ParticipantHey Laura,
I appreciate the kind words! However, can you clarify exactly what you mean here? It seems like, based on your reply, that you don’t mind the functionality of the RSVP process but just don’t like the literal appearance of it on your page.
Is this the case?
It sounds like you are going to hire a developer to help customize this for you – is this the case, too?
Thank you,

ParticipantI have a web designer already. I sent him a copy of our conversation. HE said he doesn’t see much flexibility but he thought on his iOs platform, it flowed. Translated, he doesn’t know what to do.
To answer your question, i don’t think it’s intuitive. I may be an idiot but it took me a few to under how to send an rsvp. Rather than arrow up to add an attendee, and then the name and email form appears, I’d like a simple RSVP Here with name and email and submit. That way, each rsvp has to submit a name and email. Now i didn’t test the system by putting 2. Does it demand two names be filled out? So, here, how about:
Are You Joining Us?
(name)
(email)
submit RSVP (button)I think something like that is way more friendly. I know it’s free but if you can manage to allow us to write our own invitation line… Come Play With Us, or I’ll Be At the Meeting. Or even give us a list to choose from.
Okay, how’s that? Better? Still love ya.

ParticipantThanks for some elaboration here, Laura.
I appreciate your feedback, it will help us make a better product. While there will not be immediate changes based on this, if any improvements to the RSVP layout are made they will be published in upcoming release. So, stay tuned to plugin updates and to http://theeventscalendar.com/blog – if there are RSVP improvements, they will be noted there!
As for your site, if you need to make more customizations that is something you and your developer will have to take the reins on.
So with that in mind, I will close up this thread for now.
If other issues arise, though, come back any time and open a new thread 🙂
Thank you,
George -
