We are receiving the following error at the top of all pages, login, and backend:

I’m sorry to see these errors, Debora. They seem related to some out-of-date code – can you share your “System Information” with us so we can investigate?

    Here’s how to do that → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thanks!

    Thanks for this information!

This information reveals that you are using WooCommerce Tickets, which is a defunct plugin now.

The first order of business here now is to replace WooCommerce Tickets with the two new plugins that replace it: Event Tickets, and Event Tickets Plus.

You can learn more about this process here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/

Once you do that process, you should be able to delete WooCommerce Tickets from your site. Once you do all of this, let me know if issues persist.

    Thanks!

    Hi George,

I posted a ‘private reply’ yesterday but just wanted to make sure you got that.

    Thanks!

    Hey @Debora,

I unfortunately was not able to get to your followup yesterday – we try to get to them within 24 hours, and yesterday was unfortunately filled with our typical “big Monday surplus”, the big rush of followups after the weekend…nothing personal about not getting to your followup, it was just a matter of limited time and yours and several other followups unfortunately were not gotten to by the end of the day.

    Apologies for that.

Now, as for your issues – I unfortunately had to remove the login information you posted as soon as I saw it, and have not logged into your site. I will not either, nor will anyone else on our team – we have a very strict policy that we cannot log into customer sites for any reason whatsoever.

I’m sorry to bear that news.

Can you share a screenshot of the full “Edit Event” screen for this event, the one whose tickets are not purchasable on the front-end?

To do this, go to the “edit event” screen for this event and screenshot the whole page (google how to do this in your browser of choice if not familiar; it’s simple!) – you can then share the image by uploading it to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.

I’m sorry to recommend this if it’s a bit of a pain – but we cannot log into customer sites for any reason, so I cannot log into your site, but I am curious to see the admin configuration for that event.

Just to be clear, here is a the sort of screen I am talking about when I say “the ‘Edit event’ screen → https://cldup.com/rDZEW4J1j5.png

If you can upload an image like that for the event I linked to, it would be immensely helpful.

    Thank you!
    George

Hi George, no worries. I understand.

Here’s the link to the screen shot for the page event edit:
    http://www.futureboydesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/screen.png

Perhaps I need some additional code? Any thoughts would be a big help, especially since we need our tickets back asap.

As always thanks for the help!

    George quick update!

I notice the functionality seems to work now! Perhaps we’re all set and no more help required? Please give me some time today to be sure but so far so good!

    Hey Debora,

Thanks for posting this – I am note sure exactly why things started working but I suspect it is due to the “Start sale” and “end sale” dates/times you entered for the ticket. It says ‘8am’, but keep in mind that it is “8am” in terms of your site’s timezone. This is set in Settings > General in your wp-admin.

If the start sale date/time has not arrived you will not be able to buy tickets on the front-end, although they will be listed, which sounds like your problem here.

So, I would recommend ensuring the timezone is accurate to your needs.

Thanks, perhaps you are right! I’ll keep an eye on that.

However, we do have one remaining problem. For some reason, the calendar page itself has disappeared:

    Calendar

Any ideas? Is there another plugin I need to download or upgrade?

    Sorry to hear this Justin!

I see the error in the HTML of your page and this is actually a bug that we should’ve fixed in the last release – are you able to access your wp-admin? If so, can you check what version of The Events Calendar is installed on your site? (And versions for any other Modern Tribe plugins, like Event Tickets Plus etc.)

Thanks so much for your patience here!

    Hi again George,

I checked my plugins and anything from Modern Tribe is up to date as far as I can tell on the plugins page. The Events Calendar itself is version 4.0.5.

Are there newer versions on the modern tribe website over the wordpress database?

Just for details, I have Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and The Events Calendar installed on the site. None of them are asking for an update at the moment.

    What do you think?

I’m really sorry about this Deborah! Thanks for confirming your info – the issue here is a bit of weird one, so let me explain:

    • We had an urgent security issue arise, and so we worked hard to get an update out the door in under 48 hours from the original bug report.

    • In that rush, the version of 4.0.5 that first went live on wordpress.org, for updates, had this fatal error in it. Terrible mistake!

    • As soon as we noticed this, we pulled the original 4.0.5 update files.

    • Then we fixed them and reuploaded them.

So basically, the first time we posted 4.0.5 it had this error. But it has now been fixed. When you updated on your site, you got the version with the error in it.

I’m really sorry about this @Debora – it was a terrible mistake but from here, you should be able to basically delete the existing version of The Events Calendar off of your site, and then re-install the version 4.0.5 from here:

Deleting the plugin will not erase event content, although backing up your site before doing this replacement is recommended if possible.

Let me know if you do this re-installation of the plugin and, if so, if it helps at all.

Thank you for your patience with this!
