ParticipantHey Danieb,
This is our “pre-sales questions” forum, so we unfortunately cannot field technical support questions here.
Also, your email address is not associated with a premium license on this site, so you should be posting your technical support questions into our Free forums at http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar
Despite the above things being true, I will still try to help a bit here before closing this thread:
I would recommend heading to your site’s wp-config.php file and changing this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);Once you have made this change, try activating The Events Calendar again.
Does any error text display on the white screen of death? If so, copy and paste the entire text of the error and share it here on this thread.
That might reveal the exact source of the problem which will be very helpful.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Mike,
Thanks for reaching out. What you’re trying to do here is interesting; unfortunately, we will not be able to help with the PHP customizations in any way, including walking you through it 🙁
This is true even if you were to buy a PRO license. Check out the “product support” section of this page for more information → http://theeventscalendar.com/terms
I’m sorry to bear this news! It sounds like you might be able to pull this off with the help of a professional developer, without needing to buy any of our premium add-ons. We have a list of developers with great reputations collected here → http://m.tri.be/18k1, in case that is helpful.
Let me know what you think Mike and if I can help with anything else.
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Sophie!
Thanks for reaching out. We have plugins that address some of the items you have listed here, however there are a few things that none of our plugins can do, unfortunately, neither on their own nor in combination with another plugin.
These are those specific things:
Discount code if users book multiple tickets at different events
Discount codes are available with whichever eCommerce plugin you choose to use, like WooCommerce for example. However, there is no feature at this time that automatically creates discount codes for users based on their ticket-purchasing behavior.
Repeat events (i.e. easy duplication of events for Admin)
Our Events Calendar Pro add-on does come with recurring events, but there is no “duplication” of events like you specify with this. Duplicating events is something not possible with any of our add-ons at this time.
Notification of the dates events are booked (after booking) for Administrator and participants
If you mean automatic emailing of administrators and participants, then this is not something our plugins do at this time. There are emails that administrators get when a ticket is sold, for example; or the user will be emailed the tickets they purchased; but there are no event date reminders or anything similar to that.
The other features you listed are possible with our plugins; but the above things are not.
I hope this information is helpful – let me know if so!
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Jonas,
Thanks for reaching out!
At this time the only way to make physical tickets would be to literally print out the emails that are sent to users.
You can customize the emails themselves quite extensively, as described in detail in this themer’s guide → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/, and this would require custom coding and styling.
I’m sorry that this is the only method available at this time 🙁
Let me know if this information is useful and if there’s anything else I can help with.
Thank you,

ParticipantHey Jennifer,
Sorry to hear about this!
To be clear, do you mean that your problems here happen for you when logged in as a super-admin on the site?
Or do these issues only emerge when you are logged into a specific user role that is not a super-admin? If so, can you please specify what this role is?
Thank you!

ParticipantHey Eelco!
Thanks for reaching out.
For the basic features of making events that users can RSVP to, you can get started with the following two free plugins:
• The Events Calendar http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar
• Event Tickets http://wordpress.org/plugins/event-ticketsThere is no “subscription” feature, but there is RSVP – I would recommend playing around with these plugins firsthand to see if these features meet your needs.
Next, in regards to iDeal, we unfortunately have no integration with them at this time and there are no plans to integrate with them in the near future 🙁 I’m sorry to disappoint!
Let me know if the information I’ve provided here is useful, and if there is anything else I can help with.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Bart,
Thanks for reaching out!
Our translations are entirely community-driven, especially for languages like Dutch which, at this time, nobody on our team speaks 🙁
This can sometimes lead to out-of-date or inconsistent translations. If you are interested in fixing these, our whole translations system is open to the public at http://translations.theeventscalendar.com, where you can make an account and submit edits that, once approved, will become a part of the official plugin translation.
You can learn about the translation process in these articles here:
• Translating The Events Calendar: http://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/translating-the-events-calendar/
• Translating our premium add-ons: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-or-updating-a-translation/
• Changing the language on your site: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/changing-the-language-on-your-calendar/
When it comes to editing the translation errors directly, on your own site, yes, you can open up the plugin code and find the strings you would like to edit, and then edit the strings. The language files are located in the /lang folder in the plugins.
Please note that making edits to core plugin files like this will mean that these edits are over-written when you next update the plugin. So if you make edits this way, be sure to back up your edits so you don’t lose them in a plugin update!
I hope this information helps, let me know if so or if there’s anything else I can help with 🙂

January 27, 2016 at 10:29 am in reply to: Automated e-mails per class type, or e-mail list of people attending class. #1063278George
ParticipantHey Tristan,
Thanks for reaching out, and for the kind words in regards to your previous experiences with our code!
When it comes to the specific things you listed here, there is unfortunately not any automated emailing system like you describe in our plugins.
Now, our ticketing plugins do make it easy to get the email addresses of all event attendees. Each event has an “Attendees List” of the names and email addresses of attendees (and some other info). You can export this list from the “Attendees List” screen as a CSV, for example, which then might be very easy to take and import into a bulk-email application.
But there is not an automatic feature that does this 🙁
Does this information help? Let me know what you think and any other questions you might have here.
Sincerely,
GeorgeJanuary 27, 2016 at 10:24 am in reply to: Donald Trump public meeting in Lexington, South Carolina on January 27, 2016 #1063275George
ParticipantHey J. Lee,
We unfortunately do not sell any tickets to events here on http://theeventscalendar.com – we sell software that is used by others to sell tickets, list events, etc., on their own websites.
Sorry to disappoint! I unfortunately do not know where you can find the tickets you are looking for but am happy to help with any other questions you might have.
Thanks,
GeorgeJanuary 27, 2016 at 10:11 am in reply to: Can I make paid events using Community Events? And some more.. #1063271George
ParticipantHey Leia!
To address your questions in reverse order, yes, Community Tickets requires Community Events, Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and WooCommerce to be installed and activated on the same site. All four plugins are required to use Community Tickets features.
Events Calendar Pro is NOT required.
—
As for charging for the paid submission of events, I’m really sorry that I misunderstood your original question about this. Apologies for the misunderstanding!
This is not possible with Community Tickets.
If all you need is the “normal” features of Community Events, then you do not need any of the following plugins:
• Event Tickets
• Event Tickets Plus
• Community TicketsYou would only need these plugins:
• The Events Calendar
• The Events Calendar: Community EventsNow, unfortunately there is no built-in feature for charging people to submit events. But with The Events Calendar and Community Events installed, you can allow event submissions, and you could then implement a solution to charge for submissions some other way. I do not have a specific recommendation here, unfortunately, but you might be able to find a WooCommerce Extension and use WooCommerce for that task; you might find a similar solution with another eCommerce plugin; or you may just find it easiest to hire someone to custom-build the ability to charge for submissions.
Sorry for the disappointing news on this question, and for my original misunderstanding of it. Please let me know if my post here is helpful, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
Sincerely,
GeorgeJanuary 27, 2016 at 9:59 am in reply to: Moving the Tickets Plus form 'code' crashes the site #1063253George
ParticipantHi Colby,
Thanks for sharing this.
1. You have the same code to move the form in your child-theme functions.php twice. Why is this? Does anything improve if you remove the duplicate block of code?
2. If “No” for #1, then what if you remove the code from your child-theme functions.php and place it back in your parent theme’s functions.php file?
3. If “no” for #2, then what if you remove the code from your parent-theme, place it back into your child theme, and then head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here. Once you’ve made this change, take another look at your site. Instead of just a blank white screen, there should be error text. If so, please copy and paste the entire text of the error here on this thread.
4. If the steps in #3 here do not show error text, then do what you did in step #2 here – take the code out of the child-theme and put it into the parent theme, and then see if error text shows on the site again instead of a blank white screen.
This process here is a thorough one that will hopefully reveal the problem. I could not spot the issue from my overview of the files you shared.
Let us know what you find!
Thank you,
GeorgeJanuary 27, 2016 at 9:48 am in reply to: Trying to activate Community Events plugin takes down website #1063244George
ParticipantHey @bullshoalslakeview,
I’m glad the plugin installed – apologies for my saying it wasn’t, the issue must’ve just been that our own “System information” module didn’t pick it up for some reason.
1. What version of Community Events is installed on your site?
2. Choosing “Activate” does break your site. However, this is valuable – I would recommend clicking “Activate” to break your site. See if any specific Error notices are displayed when your site breaks, and share them verbatim here if so.
3. As for wp-config.php, you would have to edit this file over FTP. The file is in the root directory of your WordPress installation. If this sort of file change is not something you know how to do right now, then no worries – do not make this file change. We can just ignore that step for now.
4. You said in your first post “it was determined that the issue lies with the Community Events plugin itself.” – how specifically was this determined, and what evidence was used to determine this?
Let me know what you find for items #1 and #2, and #4 here. Thank you so much for your patience!

January 27, 2016 at 9:42 am in reply to: Replacing a word/string with filter resets the translation from DE to EN #1063238George
ParticipantHey Michael,
Thanks for sharing this. I have confirmed that I, too, get the same bug here.
I was able to get string replacement working fine with a simpler version of the code as follows:
function tribe_custom_theme_text( $translations, $text, $domain ) {if ( 'RSVP' == $translations ) {
$translations = 'Platz reservieren';
}return $translations;
}add_filter( 'gettext', 'tribe_custom_theme_text', 999, 3 );
This will change all cases of the word ‘RSVP’ to ‘Platz reservieren’.
Try this out and let me know if it helps!

January 27, 2016 at 8:44 am in reply to: Recurring Events on the Same Day & Recurring Events Featured Events #1063206George
ParticipantHey George, apologies for the lack of update on this. This issue has been an odd one, in that we have tried making some improvements in recent updates, but even as recently as this week we have found more bugs affecting these features. So this is still a work in progress, unfortunately 🙁
I would recommend waiting for the 4.1 release of our plugins, which is coming in a short number of weeks. This release will hopefully address the number of these bugs. If it does not seem to fix things, then I would recommend opening a new thread here on the forums with your website’s system information so we can start a new investigation more specific to your own website. This article shows how to share your system information → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
After the 4.1 release we are switching to a new release cycle which will mean bug fixes are released on a faster timetable. Thank you for your patience with these issues!
