    Hi,

    1. I wonder if there is possible to make charge for submitting community events?
    2. I also wonder if it is possible to hire someone to do some formatting on the search filter bar. And change the design so its over the listing instead of in the sidebar?
    3. Is it possible to search for venues/organisers and make them as custom post types?

    Big thanks! All the best.

    Hey Leia!

Thanks for your questions and interest in our plugins. I will address your questions in order here as follows:

    1. I wonder if there is possible to make charge for submitting community events?

YES – This is possible if you use the Community Events add-on and the Community Tickets add-on. You can learn more about this add-on here: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/community-tickets/

It is not possible to charge for community event submissions without that add-on; the only other way to achieve this would be to custom-code a solution.

    2. I also wonder if it is possible to hire someone to do some formatting on the search filter bar. And change the design so its over the listing instead of in the sidebar?

YES – While we ourselves cannot make such customizations, we maintain a list of highly-rated developers and customizers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1. We have no affiliation or financial relationship with these folks, they are just well-respected folks in the community and so we like to share their details with people who are looking for developers to hire.

    3. Is it possible to search for venues/organisers and make them as custom post types?

YES – Venues and Organizers are both already custom post types. They are also searchable inside the wp-admin already with our plugins. If you mean searching them on the front-end, then there are unfortunately only limited searching for these specific things by default. You can get a sense of the available search/filter abilities by playing around with the live demo of the calendar at http://wpshindig.com/events, for example.

I hope all of this information helps! Please let me know any more questions, comments, or concerns you might have 🙂

    Cheers,
    George

Thank you so much. I just read through and watched the video on the Community Tickets and I can’t see any information about charging a fee for submitting events. I don’t want to sell tickets, just charge for anyone to post an event. Is it possible?

And do I need all of these?
Note that Community Tickets requires Community Events, Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and WooCommerce to be installed and activated on the same site.

    Thanks again!

    Hey Leia!

To address your questions in reverse order, yes, Community Tickets requires Community Events, Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and WooCommerce to be installed and activated on the same site. All four plugins are required to use Community Tickets features.

Events Calendar Pro is NOT required.

As for charging for the paid submission of events, I’m really sorry that I misunderstood your original question about this. Apologies for the misunderstanding!

This is not possible with Community Tickets.

If all you need is the “normal” features of Community Events, then you do not need any of the following plugins:
    • Event Tickets
    • Event Tickets Plus
    • Community Tickets

You would only need these plugins:
    • The Events Calendar
    • The Events Calendar: Community Events

Now, unfortunately there is no built-in feature for charging people to submit events. But with The Events Calendar and Community Events installed, you can allow event submissions, and you could then implement a solution to charge for submissions some other way. I do not have a specific recommendation here, unfortunately, but you might be able to find a WooCommerce Extension and use WooCommerce for that task; you might find a similar solution with another eCommerce plugin; or you may just find it easiest to hire someone to custom-build the ability to charge for submissions.

Sorry for the disappointing news on this question, and for my original misunderstanding of it. Please let me know if my post here is helpful, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

    Sincerely,
    George
