ParticipantHey @conor,
Thanks for reaching out!
I see in your account that the license actually is already used on this domain name: http://www.wineacademyitalia.com
Is this an error?
If so, what I would recommend is heading to your “License Keys” management page here → http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys
If you see http://www.wineacademyitalia.com listed there, use the license controls on the page to “Disconnect” that domain name from your license.
Once disconnected, you should then be able to use the license on your development domain without issue 🙂

ParticipantHello,
That does not solve my problem, I thought by reading the description on your site that I could use the plugin in a development site and my live site at the same time, is this not the case? As I said we are developing a new site while the current site is live, I need to make sure the dev site is functioning properly hence I need, one of the major plugins, the Event Calendar to work properly.
You are correct, I am using the plugin now on the live site which is http://www.wineacademyitalia.com
and I need to use it on our Dev site also which is here, http://wai.adessowebs.com/Can I do this?

ParticipantHey Conor,
You can absolutely use the premium plugin on both sites. Sorry for not being clear about this!
The only difference is that you can only enter the license key on one of these sites.
Now, to be clear: the license does not affect plugin functionality in any way. If you have the same version-numbers of the plugins on the dev site and the production site, they will function and behave exactly the same, and the lack of the license on the dev site will make no difference whatsoever in any plugin functionality, appearance, etc.
A license key simply signs up a domain name for support and auto-updates, it does not affect plugin features or functionality or appearance.
So, if you have the license key installed on your production site, then this means that you can do the one-click updates from right within your wp-admin for faster and easier updating on the production site. Meanwhile on the un-licensed dev site, you could just perform a manual update of the files instead, by downloading the newly-updated files from http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads
Does this information help at all? Let me know!
