    Hey Rick,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We unfortunately cannot help with code customizations, so the programmer will still have to make the specific modifications for the most part.

But when it comes to the CSS being overwritten each time, this is something I can definitely try to help with.

Where, specifically, does the programmer put his or her modifications each time? What is the full path of the CSS file where the CSS modifications are placed, and what are the paths of the PHP files where various PHP modifications are made?

    Thank you!

    Hey @wheretogokiddo,

Excerpts can indeed be a bit tricky to work with, so thanks for reaching out. That forum thread you linked to is is from 2014 and so some of the code references and information aren’t up-to-date/accurate any longer.

With that in mind, though, you mention this being a solution you’re interested in:

If it’s possible to have the formatting come through but ALSO have a “find out more” link at the bottom of the excerpt so it’s not too long, I’d be interested in that fix too.

☝️ This is actually possible if you just manually enter the excerpts in the “Excerpt” metabox on event edit screens. For more information on this, check out the “Solutions” section of this blog post → https://theeventscalendar.com/the-trouble-with-excerpts/

If you are still interested in a code-based way of doing this, of having the full content display but still WITH a “Find out more” link, let me know!

    Hey @vlambert,

    Thanks for reaching out!

You may very well be in luck here, because our ticketing plugin Event Tickets Plus has a feature called “Attendee Meta” (it’s also called “Attendee Information”—same feature, two names!).

This feature means that one person can buy a ticket, but then have to enter a field for “How many people will be attending?”

You can then just scan that one ticket, if you’d like.

You can read all about this process here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/

There is a section near the bottom called “Additional Attendee Information” which covers this specific feature, but the whole page covers just about everything else in the ticketing process….

    I hope this helps! 😀

    Hey @wheretogokiddo,

Thanks for reaching out. This should be possible to enforce with a bit of extra custom CSS or JavaScript, which I can help with—however, when I went to check out your site so that I could write that CSS or JS, I could not recreate the issue to begin with. Below is a little screen recording of my findings:

If you watch that, you’ll see that it remains open for me in both cases.

    1. What specific browsers do you see this problem in?
    2. Do you use another theme normally, in which theme the problem persists?

Let me know! Sorry to prolong the process of figuring this out—but without recreating the problem live, I can’t quite testing custom CSS to fix it.

    Thank you!

    Hey John,

Sorry to hear about these issues!

    1. Can you post your site’s complete, un-edited “System Information” to this thread? That will help me investigate this problem a bit. Here is how to do that → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    2. Next, can you confirm how you changed “Photo View” to say “Grid View”? If you are using custom code, what specific custom code? (Paste the code into a Gist at http://gist.github.com and share a link to that Gist)

    Thank you!

    Hey Chris,

    Sorry to hear about this!

First, I would recommend dealing with this from a security level on your own site. Change the person’s password or something, delete the user account, etc., whatever is necessary to prevent this from continuing to happen.

As for deleting events, is this one long series of recurring events? Or just a bunch of individual events? In either case, searching for a “bulk deletion” plugin on WordPress.org (which are all free) is the best recommendation I can make here—there are many options, so head over, search, and pick one that looks/feels right to you. → https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=bulk+delete S

    I hope that helps!

    Hey Thomas,

Really sorry for the trouble here!

This is an odd issue that we don’t have other reports of at this time, so I am wondering if you find any success by doing the EXACT following steps. If these steps still produce errors, then we can definitely refund your order (and if you want a refund anyways, at any time, please follow the steps on this page any time! → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/).

Now, here are the exact steps I recommend:

    • Activate a default theme like Twenty Sixteen, or Twenty Twelve, etc.
    • Deactivate ALL plugins.
    • DELETE The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.
    • Download a fresh copy of The Events Calendar 4.2.2 from here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar
    • Download a fresh copy Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1 from here: http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads

    • Install and activate The Events Calendar 4.2.2
    • Install and activate Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1

☝️ See how things behave when you perform these steps. Be sure to use the correct, most-recent version numbers for both plugins, which are as follows:
    The Events Calendar: 4.2.2
    Events Calendar Pro: 4.2.2.1

Do not use any other versions of either plugin, like 4.1.2, or 4.2.0, etc.

If an error is still produced after those steps, can you share a screenshot of the exact error coming up on your site? Can you share screenshots of the issue? You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.

Thank you for your patience and persistence here! Sorry for all of the trouble!

    Hey Todd,

    Sorry to hear about this!

This morning we published version 4.2.2.1 of Events Calendar Pro—this should fix the issues you describe.

Try updating and let us know if it helps at all!

    Thank you,

I’m sorry to hear about this, Nicolas!

The performance issues may have been related to a bug with recurring event generation within Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.

We published 4.2.2.1 today, and so I would suggest trying to update to Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1 with The Events Calendar at version 4.2.2 and seeing if performance issues persist.

Let us know what you find!

    Hey @Jadzia,

I’m really sorry to hear about this!

    1. I cannot produce that error anywhere on my site. To help us investigate, can you share a screenshot of the place where you are trying to “update a ticket in the WooCommerce product section”? I just want to make sure I know exactly what part of your site you’re referring to.

(You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.)

I will use that information to help our developers find and fix a bug here.

    Next, you say this:

My ticket products show up in the admin but do not display on my /shop page.

    2. Can you share a screenshot of where the tickets show up in the admin?

If you provide both screenshots here, I will take a look and try to offer insight on what is going on. I’m sorry for the trouble with things—to be clear, I cannot recreate your problems so there may be a bug that is arising on your site for a number of reasons. It is not normal, but if you can share the above-requested screenshots it will help us investigate!

    Thank you,
    George

    Hey Johannes,

I totally get how, despite the “printability” of our tickets as-is, a PDF might still be required. Thankfully, it should be relatively simple to do this for any good plugin customizer.

Speaking of recommendations for such folk, we have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and we have no affiliation with any of these folks–they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled).

I hope this list helps and that you’re able to achieve the functionality you need!

    Cheers,

    Hey @Staffan,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I am sorry to hear about these issues. The behavior you describe is odd, and does not sound like it is something our plugins are necessarily causing.

For example, none of our plugins call the wp-mediaelement on their own. So, if there are issues with that script, then the issue seems to be arising more because of your site / server / CloudFlare configuration than because of a specific plugin.

The same seems to be true with that widget-this-week-full.css file. Why do I say this? Well, because this file is only 7KB in size. This is a very small file, and so if it is taking 11 seconds for this file to be loaded, then the issue lays not with the file or the plugin it is from, but again with your site / server / CloudFlare configuration.

I am sorry to bear this news! I am happy to help if I can, but just want to be clear and set your expectations because these are not issues that seem to be caused by our plugins themselves.

I would recommend contacting both CloudFlare’s support team, and the support team of your web host to report these issues.

Perhaps there is a caching issue that either party can identify and help with? Or something related to the CDN configuration? I am not sure—but definitely contact those support teams and report these issues.

I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have further thoughts on this.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey James!

Thanks for opening a new thread. 🙂

I’m sorry to hear about these issue and am happy to try and figure out what’s going on.

You shared a lot of information here, which I appreciate—despite that, I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind also just posting the complete System Information as described on this page? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

It may seem trivial, but there is some extra information in that big block of info that might help illuminate some things here.

In the meantime, can you also confirm with me WHEN these issues started arising?

Did the checkout work fine up until this weekend, then you update a few plugins or something and it stopped working? Or has this issue been happening for many weeks? Or just since this morning? Et cetera—any information on its history that you can provide will be helpful.

    Thank you!
    George
