ParticipantHi
When testing on my site, all plugins inactive, if I then enable only the events calendar plugins I get very slow loading time, + 15 seconds just because of:
wp-includes/js/mediaelement/mediaelementplayer.min.css
when I disable that feature in functions with
wp_deregister_script(‘wp-mediaelement’);
wp_deregister_style(‘wp-mediaelement’);my site loads in about 2 seconds again.
as I said no other plugins except events calendar plugins loaded.
I am now using cloudflare but I dont have the auto minify function active and prior to this the site also loaded very slow if I used EC plugins and if I test directly to pull my content from my original server there is still the “mediaelement/mediaelementplayer.min.css” being slow problem.
Using twenty-sixteen, still slow site, except that this time this is the problem that slows down loading:
wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/resources/css/widget-this-week-full.css
it takes 11 seconds just to load that single file

ParticipantHey @Staffan,
Thanks for reaching out.
I am sorry to hear about these issues. The behavior you describe is odd, and does not sound like it is something our plugins are necessarily causing.
For example, none of our plugins call the wp-mediaelement on their own. So, if there are issues with that script, then the issue seems to be arising more because of your site / server / CloudFlare configuration than because of a specific plugin.
The same seems to be true with that widget-this-week-full.css file. Why do I say this? Well, because this file is only 7KB in size. This is a very small file, and so if it is taking 11 seconds for this file to be loaded, then the issue lays not with the file or the plugin it is from, but again with your site / server / CloudFlare configuration.
I am sorry to bear this news! I am happy to help if I can, but just want to be clear and set your expectations because these are not issues that seem to be caused by our plugins themselves.
I would recommend contacting both CloudFlare’s support team, and the support team of your web host to report these issues.
Perhaps there is a caching issue that either party can identify and help with? Or something related to the CDN configuration? I am not sureābut definitely contact those support teams and report these issues.
I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have further thoughts on this.
Sincerely,
