Good evening Joshua and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I’m fairly new at this but can I do these 2 things with the product I have?

The short answer is yes, you should be able to do exactly the same.
I can assist you with getting the elements in place, and give you a couple of pointer for the look as well.

As a first step, please make sure you go through the following 2 guides step-by-step (every detail is important):

    1. http://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-the-events-calendar-and-events-calendar-pro/
    2. http://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-community-events/

Secondly, it is very important that there are no “real pages” created that share the same URL as our calendar (as defined in Events -> Settings -> General).

The calendar needs absolute exclusivity over that URL (in your case: http://yourgilroy.com/events/)

Finally, please try a couple of different settings for Events Template under Events -> Settings -> Display.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Charles and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear that the upgrade to Pro is not going as smoothly as expected.
I would love to help you with this topic.

when it downloaded, it wasn’t in .zip format

As a first step, I need to confirm if you clicked on the Download link for the Events Calendar Pro on the following page https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ ?

If somehow the plugin is downloaded in un-zipped format, you still have a couple of options available:

    1. Re-zip the plugin folder (using Winzip or any other File compressor). This way you can install the Events Calendar Pro add-on (required to be able to register).
    2. Drag the folder to the the /wp-content/plugins/ folder of your site using an FTP client

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Ken and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the attendee data missing from your tickets.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a side note, I am also noticing that you are using WPML.
I highly recommend reading and using the following guides:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-translations-for-events-using-wpml/

I am also quite impressed that you have successfully been running Event tickets Plus with WPML.
We have yet to offer official support for that compatibility, so kudos!

What might be the issue? We have set all fields as required? Have we seen any such issues before in Event Ticket Plus?

This issue can arise when people modify the quantity amount of the product in the shopping cart.
    <span style=”font-size: 0.875rem;”>This “breaks” the attendee information typically.</span>

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/66bf05df61ee269c60ff20d6f39e2cab#file-functions-php

This will prevent such ticket quantity change in the cart.

You might also be interested in the following extension that lets you edit attendee information: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-can-admin-updatechange-ticket-information-for-anonymous-customer/#post-1357096

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Pete,

I am glad we are making progress here.

Just to set expectations before we continue, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

With that in mind, let me ask our coding ninjas what they recommend for achieving this.

    Hang in there!

Good evening Tina and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Is there a way to change the header above the area where people select their ticket from “Ticket” to something else.

Absolutely, you can tweak just about any string being displayed.
The first approach to try would be: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

If you prefer, you could also customize the ticket section of the single event view.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Lisa and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Our orders are not completing after payment… the transaction stays as pending payment in the system.

I am not exactly sure which payment gateway you are using with WooCommerce, could you please share a screenshot of your settings for that gateway ? (in a private reply)

Therefore, we and the customers do not receive confirmation emails.

Until we figure out what is going on, you could tweak the setting for the status that triggers the tickets under Events -> Settings -> Tickets.

I am not sure if that would help, but I thought I would suggest it anyway.

    Hang in there!

Good evening Bart and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Is there a way to make some events stand out ? (with font size or using colours, with or without image, …)

Yes, we have a couple of ways to achieve this:

    1. Using our built-in “Featured Event” option (which has it’s own set of CSS)
    2. Using the following third-party plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/

When a certain field has a value 1, then show the picture for that event in the calender, when the field has value 0 then don’t show the picture.

You could achieve this precise result by customizing your views.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

Good evening Alyson and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the display issues you are having with the Events Calendar pages.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Just to be clear i have set the settings on events calendar to be on list view but it seems to ignore this.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Secondly, could you please share a screenshot of your Events -> Settings -> Display screen ?

    1. On the pages where there is a week view the full weekly calendar is displays empty boxes and is squashed and then it shows the default view of lists. how can i remove the weekly calendar on small devices?

Would you mind providing me with a couple of actual URLs to look at where the week view is being used ? It does not seem to be available under https://meditateinsouthampton.org.uk/events/

In the meantime, you can redirect all your mobile users to a specific view.
You could apply one the following snippets in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top):

    1. https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/dff981933c950aebc3045b827eddc101
    2. https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/ad2d0879e2daec631074e2e15c0a9852 (try the second one if the first one fails)

    2. on monthly calendar the same only the there are boxes in the monthly view.

Could you please provide an URL example of the month view from your site.
With that in mind, I believe the boxes are coming from the third-party Event Category colors plugin.

You should be able to handle that with CSS I believe.

    3. and most important the event information is displayed at the very bottom of the page after related events which makes it very confusing. it should display at the very top.

What is interesting is that the Enfold theme actually contains customizations for the Events Calendar. I am surprised that they are refusing to support interaction with our plugins based on that fact.

In any case, you can actually customize any view to your exact specifications (including where each information is displayed in any view).

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

    Basically, you:

    1. Find the file(s) of the view(s) you want to tweak
    2. Download them
    3. Rearrange the displayed elements sequence in the file
    4. Upload your modified file back to the appropriate path in your WordPress theme’s folder (under the  /tribe-events/ folder).

    Hang in there!

Good evening Keshia and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I would like to know if the Plus plugin allows you to set multiple ticket types, e.g. Adult, Child, Senior, etc as well as seating types, eg. Table 1, Table 2, etc

    Yes absolutely.
You can have as many ticket types as you wish for each event.

Best of all, they can even share the same “global stock” (max number of tickets, no matter what combination of ticket types) if you want.

    ideally with seat selection?

We do not have that specific feature, but here is a workaround for that (hopefully that will be sufficient): https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ticketing-using-seating-chart/

e.g. allocating 10 seats per table, but can be any number of Adult, child, etc out of those 10 seats??

Yes absolutely, with the proper stock of each ticket type and perhaps the recommended article above, you should be ready to go.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!
