when it downloaded, it wasn’t in .zip format
As a first step, I need to confirm if you clicked on the Download link for the Events Calendar Pro on the following page https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ ?
If somehow the plugin is downloaded in un-zipped format, you still have a couple of options available:
- Re-zip the plugin folder (using Winzip or any other File compressor). This way you can install the Events Calendar Pro add-on (required to be able to register).
- Drag the folder to the the /wp-content/plugins/ folder of your site using an FTP client
