MemberGood evening Fabienne and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.1. Displaying of the three next events with date, city and title on frontpage via shortcode
You will need to grab a copy of our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
This will let you use both widget (better suited to your described need) or full calendar views via shortcode:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/
2. Display of event list with all necessary information (date, time, description, link, venue) sortable by category, city, state
All the described information is part of our default the Events Calendar plugin.
To make things sortable, you will need a copy our Filter Bar premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/
3. User submission form, submissions should be approved by admin
You can achieve this with our Community Events premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Carla and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.I have an event where some people can visit free and some need to pay.
Is this possible?Absolutely.
You will need the following plugins:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/
This will allow you to have several ticket types per event, mainly:
- Free RSVP tickets (with very basic user registration: name, email, RSVP)
- Integration with WooCommerce which allows you to charge for tickets AND “sell” free tickets.
There is no limit on how many ticket types you can create for each event.
Do the free visitors get a free ticket code?
This will be up to you.
Would you want them to ?Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Alyson,
Thank you for replying.
You are correct, events are custom post types.
They are typically displayed as WordPress archives. You are right, you might need to:
- Find a plugin that supports both custom post types and archive pages and configure that plugin correctly.
- Customize an existing plugin so that it does.
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you

We’ll be glad to answer your questions.… if purchasing a license will allow me to install it on a development version of the site and then move to a production domain?

MemberGood evening Hassan and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us and for your great words of support!
I would love to help you with this topic.– How can I change the banner picture for only the page of the events calendar, without also changing it for my posts?
I believe you are referring to the header picture.
The simplest solution is probably to use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-display-header/
– How can i make the gap smaller between search bar and the banner?
– How can i make the gap smaller between the search bar and the calendar?
This will depend on your specific site. I would need to be able to see it.
Would it be possible to know how to do that ? (URL, instructions, etc..)– How can i install that all the events will open in a new tab?
You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/4406403775fe4efab39b9d5baae757ae
Let me know how that goes.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/incomplete-translations/
As you can see, normally, the calendar will follow the language defined by WordPress.
You can also tweak any term in German to your liking.Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberOh and one very important note: Do not upgrade to WooCommerce 3.2
We just found a couple of bugs with that release (that we are working on fixing).
In the meantime, 3.1.2 should work great.Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Lisa,
Thank you for the credentials.
I was able to go in and take a look around.Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. But let’s not give up on this.
Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme (Avada 5.2.2) via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.In the meantime, here are a few things I would recommend to check:
- Deactivate the Event Tickets Plus Extension: Enhance Woo Order Templates
- Check if the payments for the tickets made it to Paypal (from the Paypal website)
- Check if the return URL is configured properly in your Paypal account.
Hang in there!

MemberGood evening Amaury,
Thank you for writing back.
I totally understand. My invitation still stands though.
1. Is there a way to add a category filter to the tribe bar?
Yes. You can do that (and much more) with our Filter bar add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/
2. This new filter, Could it be as a drop down menu?
Yes.
3. Cpuld we make the location filter also drop down menu?
You could probably do that with a bit of customization. But most of our users decide to use one or many of the additional filters that come with filter bar (city, state/province, country)
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Doris and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear that somehow the .zip file you downloaded was automatically unzipped.
I would love to help you with this topic. The simple solution would be to select the folder all these files are located in and zip it back up: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14200/windows-compress-uncompress-zip-files
If you have access to an FTP client, you could also upload the complete folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Joffrey and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this glitch. We are actively working on a solution for this.
Alas, I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed, as it’s in the development team’s hands now.
They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release. The good news is that you will be contacted as soon as a fix is available.
Thank you for your patience as we see this through. In the meantime, on our end, we have tested that downgrading to WooCommerce 3.1.2 fixes the issue.
As with any upgrade, it is always better to do a complete database backup first.
Best regards,

Thank you @joffrey for your input.
On my end I was able to see 2 bugs with WooCommerce 3.2.

MemberGood afternoon Brittany,
I am glad you liked the reply 🙂
I will let you go through the details of it.It looks like by your definition I’m not actually needing recurring events. I have events that need one ticket that might occur every Saturday for 3 weeks. So is there a way to specify that with the Event List view? Showing the user the 3 dates it falls on, but it’s only one ticket?
In that case, you actually need recurring events.
It looks like our current limitation is just perfect for your situation.Best regards,
Geoff B.
