    Good evening Mr. Peri,

Thank you for running those tests.
I am sorry we have still not solved your issue.

The bug ticket for faulty language files is still open, so if nothing else, that should get addressed very quickly.

On my end, I have ran a lot of additional testing.

It seems like my first solution (re-saving the pot files and updating the po files from it) is the only one that has had success for some of our users.

So here’s the breakdown of that solution:

    1. Download the /lang/ folder for each plugin
    2. Make sure you have the Poedit free software installed
    3. Go in the lang folder and find your .pot file
    4. Open it (it should open Poedit).
    5. There will be an automated message that Poedit fixed the .pot file
    6. Save the pot file
    7. Open your .mo file (still using Poedit)
    8. Click on Catalog > Update from pot file
    9. Select your freshly re-saved pot file
    10. Save your po file once the update has been completed
    11. Repeat for each plugin
    12. Upload your po and mo files back on your server

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Secondly, most of the time, this type of issue stems from wp-mail being blocked at some level.

The fastest way to handle this is to use a third-party plugin that overrides wp-mail and uses a real email address.
    Here’s one such plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/installation/

Please follow the installation instruction carefully.

As per re-sending confirmation. At this point, it is unfortunately not possible to do so.
But, I can totally see how that would be a great feature. You are welcome to vote and add your comments for it here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/6898777-include-the-ability-to-re-send-tickets

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Adrienne and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you have been experiencing on your install. Yikes!

This will help me troubleshoot the cause of your issues.
As per your suggestion on how to handle Javascript, it has been noted and relayed.

However, please note that on 99.9% of installs, the way our plugin is structured does not have this type of impact.
So we just need to find out why that’s the case for you.

Furthermore, I just visited http://jwcdaily.com/events/community/add  + http://jwcdaily.com/events/ and they seem to render properly.
Would you mind expanding on what is not working for you at this point ?

As it stands, this could be caused by a glitch we have recently been experiencing with translation files for the Event Tickets family.

There is a bug ticket opened and this should be addressed fairly quickly. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds available:

    1. Go over to your language files for Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus (located in the /lang/ folder of each plugin) and download them.
    2. Still in that folder, download the .pot file
    3. Open the .pot file on your computer (using PoEdit). Poedit should fix a glitch in the .pot file automatically.
    4. Save the .pot file
    5. Open each .po file and choose (Update from .pot file)
    6. Save each .po file and put them back in their language folders.

As an alternative, you could use the following snippet in the functions.php file of your WordPress theme: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Hans and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

But is it posible to add customfields without using Woocommerce? I like to know this first before we buy the plugin.

    Yes absolutely.

The additional attendee information fields become available to RSVP tickets as well when you install Event Tickets Plus.
Not just WooCommerce tickets (which you don’t have to use).

You can read about these fields here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Brandi,

Thank you for writing back, running some tests on your staging site and sending the additional system info.
    It’s super appreciated.

I went ahead and tried to replicate your setup and I was able to.
The good news is that I have a temporary workaround for you.

If you install our free the Events Calendar plugin, everything works as expected. If you don’t, you are right, there is a bug.
You can find the plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/

Since this a legitimate bug I have opened a ticket for it.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.

Thank you for your patience as we fix this and let me know how my workaround goes for you.

    Best regards,

Good evening Alessandro and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the string that is proving difficult to translate.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Normally, that is string 155 from the Event Tickets Plus language files (%1$s available).

Also, would you mind telling me which language you are trying to translate to ?

The reason I am asking is that we have an online translation project for our plugins: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects

    Good evening Alex,

    Thank you for writing back.

I am glad you are making progress on your local install.

As stated before, I think you might have been a victim of a bad combination of things: server setup, script timeout setting, etc…

In the end, if my calculations are correct, there should be 1 event + 9 recurrences per week for that event.
    52 weeks x 2 years x 10 events a week should add up to about 1040 events, not 3000.

So something most likely went very wrong in the process.
Out of curiosity, if you get a chance, would you mind running some tests with a city based timezone as opposed to a UTC based one ? (make sure your WordPress settings are set to that as well, so that we leave no stone unturned)

The good news is that we have a couple of SQL scripts to control recurrence events that go out of hand if you are up for that.
Because you know exactly which event is faulty, you could simply:

    1. Re-save that event (should trigger the recurrence rebuild)
    2. Use the following script to remove all recurrences in batch (before re-saving): https://gist.github.com/elimn/e5de5d2037678de0b926c307022571c5

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Max,

So I asked for a bunch of tests as promised using PHP 7.0.10.

Admin pages all load at 1.9 seconds +/- .06 with iCal active.
They all load at about 1.85 with the same variance with iCal disabled.

So the good news is that your hunch was right.
It does not look like this is a “universal” PHP7 issue.

That being said, if anything else comes up, please hit us up!

And of course, you are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great weekend!

Good afternoon Sameer and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the fatal error message you had to deal with!
I would love to help you with this topic.

First of all kudos on finding the culprit!

There are a few ways you can tackle this. Normally re-saving the event would have fixed this, but since that will probably make your server run out of memory, I think we need a direct SQL solution.

After a database backup, you can try the following SQL script: https://gist.github.com/elimn/e5de5d2037678de0b926c307022571c5

Once that’s done, all the recurrences for that event will be gone.

You’ll simply need to re-enter that event and re-save it at that point.

Let me know how that goes.

Good afternoon Lorilee and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The good news is that you should be able to include the current (all day) event in the feed.
It’s most likely a question of tweaking settings and looking at your theme.

Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates you might have made.

Secondly, could you send me a screenshot of your settings for Events -> Settings -> Display ?

Finally, a screenshot of your widget settings would be awesome.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

We are sorry to hear about the imported event being added to a new calendar.
I would love to help you with this topic.

After a bit of research, it looks like you have 2 solutions for that. You can read all about theme here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ical-single-event-import-file-creates-new-calendar/

Let me know how that goes and if you need help for that.
