    Hi Fred,

Thanks for getting in touch and I hope you had a great weekend. 🙂

We’d be happy to help — but I do want to note that our pre-sales forum is used to answer questions about purchasing our premium plugins.

If you’re looking for technical support, it would be awesome if you could post your question to our <u>WordPress.org support forum</u>.

Or, if you already have an active license for one of premium plugins, will you please log into your account and post your topic to our premium support forum instead?

In the meantime, I would suggest trying to test for conflicts as a first course of action. That will allow you to provide more context when posting your thread to the WordPress.org forum.

    Thanks so much!

Hi 2ndwing — I hope you had a great weekend!

So sorry for the confusion here. We recently released a new service called Event Aggregator and it will eventually take the place of both our Facebook Events and iCal Importer plugins. As a courtesy to folks who already have the other plugins, we have provided you with a free license for Event Aggregator that you can use to test it out and see whether you want to make the switch.

It’s also worth noting that Event Aggregator is already included in The Events Calendar. In other words, it does not require you to install another plugin in order for it work — instead, you can enter your license on the Events > Settings > Licenses screen and it unlocks the features for importing events on Events > Import.

That said, I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re having with Facebook Events and I’d be happy to help troubleshoot it with you. Would you be willing to do a couple of things to help me help you?

    • Send me your system information. You can find it by navigating to Events > Help. Please copy the data and paste it here for me as a private reply and that will allow me to check your sites settings for reasons why importing may not be working.
    • Send me the Facebook URL. Also, please let me know if there are specific events that are not importing, or whether it all events in general. I will try importing from my test site to see if I can see the same issue.

Let’s start there and see what we find!

    Cheers!

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for writing in and I hope you had a great weekend!

I’ve gone ahead and deactivated your license for Events Calendar PRO and exchanged it for a Filter Bar license.

You can access the new license key by logging into your account on our site and navigating to My Account > License Keys. You will also be able to access a download of Filter Bar by navigating to the Downloads screen from there.

Let me know if you have any issues accessing your new license key and I’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hello Evelyn,

Thanks for getting in touch — I hope you had a great weekend!

Our plugins actually do integrate with WooCommerce, but in the other way around: an event is created, then a ticket for it is created, that ticket becomes a product in WooCommerce, and WooCommerce handles the transaction for selling the ticket.

I’m not sure that is what you’re interested in doing, but here’s the plugins you would need to make it happen:

    • The Events Calendar (free) – This is our core plugin that allows you to publish events in WordPress and display them in a calendar format.
    • Event Tickets (free) – This plugin extends The Events Calendar by allowing you to create free tickets (like RSVPs) for your events. It also provides the foundation for the next plugin.
    • Event Tickets Plus – This extends Event Tickets so that you can create and sell paid tickets for events. As mentioned earlier, it integrates with WooCommerce so that the tickets you create in the event post editor become registered products in WooCommerce, which handles the cart and checkout functionality when someone purchases a ticket.

All this to say that the way events are displayed on the site will be different from what you linked to above because The Events Calendar has its own views (List and Month) for displaying events. I will not, however, that you can both customize any of the calendar template by overriding it or you can create your own calendar template using this guide as a starting point.

I should also point out that the first two plugins I listed above are completely free of charge. I would encourage you to install them and use them as a test to see whether they will be the right fit for your site. And, should you decide they are, then you can snag Event Tickets Plus and we offer a nice refund policy should it not work for you for any reason at all.

    Cheers!

    Hi Isuru,

Thanks for getting in touch and I hope you had a great weekend.

I’m afraid that our plugins do not support the idea of having events within events. In other words, you can create an event and list that there are two activities (or shows) in the content, but there is no way to create shows within the event itself.

Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Hi Rion,

    Thanks for sending the links!

I tried importing the same event to my test site using the latest version of Facebook Events and the content appears to have imported correctly. Here’s a screenshot of the event after it has been imported.

That tells me there is something different between out sites that is causing the paragraph tags to get stripped out rather than something in the plugin that is doing it.

My test site is a default WordPress installation, meaning there is nothing installed on it except for the Twenty Sixteen theme and our plugins. Would you be willing to create a test site of your own with the same default environment that we can use to pinpoint what is causing the paragraph tags to get stripped out of the post? Please let me know and I would be happy to send over some instructions to help get started.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi David,

I went ahead and added the correct license renewal to your cart. Please let me know if you continue to experience any trouble checking out and I’d be happy to continue looking into this with you.

In the meantime, cheers and have a happy Friday!

You bet, Carol. Happy to help, even though I know it’s not the news you were hoping to hear.

We actually have an open feature request for the work we’re doing on this. Please add your vote to it and you will be subscribed to receive updates as they’re available.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread but let us know if any other questions come up and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Hi Carol,

Great question! I’m afraid that a Year View is not currently supported by our plugins. That said, it is indeed something we are working on for a future release and I know the development team is excited to release it. While I do not have a guaranteed timetable for it, I would imagine it will be included in either our 4.5 or 4.6 release, if all goes according to plan.

Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

Hi Rachel and thanks for getting in touch!

Great question, though I am afraid that Event Aggregator does not support importing images and attachments from Google Calendar at this time. I wish I could say it does, but that is not the case.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know if you have any others and I’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

Howdy Mike, thanks for following up!

The good news is that I tried importing the same event on my test site and it imported successfully with the featured image. Here is a screenshot of the import meta in the post editor.

That’s great news because it tells me that there does not seem to be a specific bug that would be preventing the image from importing by default.

However, this means that there is something different between your site and my test site. We need to pinpoint what that is.

I looked at your system information and it appears you are running the latest versions of the plugins, just like I am. That’s a good start.

I see you also indicated having tried the following:

    • Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
    • Switched to a default theme? Yes

Just to confirm., did you notice a difference in importing when you deactivated all other non-Modern Tribe plugins? How about when you switched to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Sixteen)? How about when you deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default theme together?

Let’s confirm that first. If the results are the same, then I think we’ll have to go through a deeper form of troubleshooting to find the difference.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Matteo,

Yes, I am afraid this is intended behavior. The same is true of the full Map View — the map is intended to remain at the top of everything while the list of events is where content officially begins.

If we were to change this, I think a feature request is the best way to go about it. While I can’t guarantee that we would build it, I’d be happy to write that up with you, if you’d like.

If you’re interested in a feature request, I have a couple of questions to kick it off:

    • Should this be a setting on the full Map View as well — in other words, not just applicable to the shortcode?
    • How would you envision the shortcode being written to determine where the map is placed? What sort of variables would those be? For example [tribe_events view=”Month” map=”after-content”]

    Cheers!

    Hi Jens,

Sorry for the frustration! I’m still with you here and will continue working on this with you — we’ll figure something out. 🙂

Just to confirm, is this your main calendar page:

    events

If so, is that the same as what you have entered in Events > Settings? If not, please update and make sure that the current page set up as /events on the site is deleted from WordPress.

    Thanks!
    Geoff
