ParticipantHi,
when I insert a map view in my pages with the shortcode [tribe_events view=”map”], the map is always placed on top of the page right below the menu. The search bar and the list of events are, instead, placed correctly where the shortcode is inserted in the page. What can I do to force the position of the map where the shortcode is placed in the page and avoid that the map and the list of events are placed separately in the page?
Thanks!

MemberHi Matteo,
Good question! I played around with the shortcode a bit and there unfortunately is no straightforward or supported way to move the location of the map. In other words, it will always be placed at the top of the page and the page content will be placed between the map and the beginning of the event list.
Sorry for the bad news and that I don’t have a workaround for you here, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
thanks for your answer. The answer saves me at least the time I would have needed to understand if there was a workaround. However, is this the intended behaviour? Is there going to be a fix soon?
Thanks!
Ciao

MemberHi Matteo,
Yes, I am afraid this is intended behavior. The same is true of the full Map View — the map is intended to remain at the top of everything while the list of events is where content officially begins.
If we were to change this, I think a feature request is the best way to go about it. While I can’t guarantee that we would build it, I’d be happy to write that up with you, if you’d like.
If you’re interested in a feature request, I have a couple of questions to kick it off:
- Should this be a setting on the full Map View as well — in other words, not just applicable to the shortcode?
- How would you envision the shortcode being written to determine where the map is placed? What sort of variables would those be? For example [tribe_events view=”Month” map=”after-content”]
Cheers!
