MemberThanks @nucreative!
We had the setting set to 24 months a few weeks ago, and only recently switched it to 3 months. And in fact, now that I look at the event in question, it was originally published on October 12th 2015, and has recurring events up to Oct 2017.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Changing that setting will only affect events on an ongoing basis after the setting has been changed. Any event created prior to the setting change will remain intact.
I’m guessing that if we delete any of these remaining recurrences beyond 3 months in the future, we won’t see any more anomalies like this.
That’s exactly what I was going to suggest. You could delete those events and create new ones in their place. From there, I would expect that the 3-month setting would be respected.
Let me know if that’s the case for some reason and we can take some other routes for troubleshooting from there.
Thanks!

MemberHi Rosie and thanks for following up!
I checked the ticket and it appears we’re still working on it. I’ll continue to keep you posted as I learn more, but I do know our next release is planned for sometime in the next several weeks. Again, I don’t have a firm date to share, but I’ll definitely post here when I know more.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation while we work on this–I really appreciate it!

November 17, 2015 at 12:55 pm in reply to: Share events across sites on a multisite network #1027147Geoff
MemberHi Rachel and thanks for reaching out! I’m so glad you’re checking out The Events Calendar and hope it’s a good fit. 🙂
While managing events across a multisite is not technically a feature that is offered, it would certainly be possible to achieve it with iCal Importer. Basically, you can install the importer on the sites that you are feeding to and set the importer to run on an automated daily (or even hourly) basis. That would keep keep all sites in sync with one site acting as the primary source. Plus, you could continue to use The Events Calendar on those other sites to add events that are specific to just those sites.
I do wonder if there is another way this could be handled and would be interested to pick your brain a bit to see how that sort of feature would work for you because I could see it being useful for other educational sites as well. We may reach out to you directly, if you don;t mind. 🙂
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know!
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHey Daniel–welcome back to the forums!
Interesting, the event template does not have a sidebar right out of the box. I wonder if you have a custom template and could modify it from there. If you open your theme directory, do you see a folder in there called tribe-events? If so, you might see a template in there called single-event.php and that would be the template to check. Let me know if you see that folder and/or that file in it.
Thanks!

MemberHey John–welcome to the forums! I hope you’ve been enjoying PRO and Filter Bar so far. 🙂
Good question. The Events Calendar does produce a URL to an .ics file that the plugin generates and can be used to send events to Google Calendar. At the same time, however, it would be a one-time import, sort of like manually uploading an .ics file to the calendar. In other words, it doesn’t sync on an ongoing basis. You can find the iCal URL at [your-site]/[events-slug]/ical
Not sure if it would work, but The Events Calendar does have an RSS feed for events and–if Google Calendar accepts it–that URL would push events on an ongoing basis. That might be worth a try. You can find the RSS URL at [your-site]/[events-slug]/feed
Does this at least help you get started? Please let me know!
Cheers,

MemberHey Susan and welcome to the forums!
I’m stoked to hear you made a custom event template–nice work. 🙂
The venue and organizer details are available in a handful of functions you can use to echo the data in the template. There are quite a few for each, so here are some results from our documentation to get you started:
Let me know if you need help looking for a specific function and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

MemberHey @nucreative and thanks for getting in touch! Sorry for the trouble here, but let’s see if we can pinpoint the issue together.
Can you send me a screenshot of the date and recurrence settings for one of the affected events? I want to try to try to recreate the issue on my end using the same information you are and that will help me a lot.
It doesn’t seem to be happening on all events though, just a few of them.
That’s interesting! Is there anything about the affected events that you think might be different than the ones that are not affected? For example, were they entered differently? Or perhaps some were entered previously and the plugin (or perhaps something else on the site) has been updated since? That might provide a clue.
Thanks!

MemberHello Pim,
Thanks for following up!
I’ll do my best to help out, but do want to note that we are fairly limited in how much we can support customization requests like this. That said, I’m happy to point you in the right direction, if I can. 🙂
George is absolutely right in the last thread you opened: it seems like this would need to be modified at the WooCommerce level rather than the WooCommerce Tickets level. Tickets are registered as Products in WooCommerce, so the likely solution would be to provide a filter for the WooCommerce function that calls the product cart URL, like the one George provided.
If that’s not doing the trick (or is too difficult), then you might want to try to <a href="http://
<strong>Update: There has been a lot of awesome conversation in the comments about the difference between responsive and adaptive design. The important takeaway is that the difference comes down to more than media queries and pixel units. The animated GIF example earlier in the post is one way to illustrate the difference as those terms are recognized here, but this post also provides a nice series of illustrations to drive the point further.
“>the suggestion offered in this thread. It provides another mean for manually editing the links within WooCommerce Tickets so they redirect elsewhere. This example redirects to the checkout page, but I imagine it could be modified to redirect to a specific product page as well.
Sorry I don’t have a concrete solution for you here, but I hope one of these methods at least help you get started!

MemberHello Sid and welcome to the forums! Thanks for reaching out. 🙂
I see what you mean–the layout is pretty janky whether the vertical or horizontal layout is used.
The issue is likely due to the custom layout used by Avada. I know the fine folks on the Avada team created a nice layout for The Events Calendar (and did a great job of it). At the same time, it’s possible they did not consider how the Filter Bar premium add-on would interact with it.
You may be able to correct the layouts with CSS. However, it looks like the source of the issue is that some of the elements that are either customized or added by the theme are interfering with the layout. I hate to push you to Avada’s support, but I really do think they would be better suited to provide direction on how to modify the theme to better integrate with the Filter Bar.
Let me know if any questions come up in that exchange that I can help answer and I’d be happy to!

MemberAwesome, I’m so glad that worked! Thanks for following up and confirming,. 🙂
Map View relies totally on the Google Maps API to display events on the map and in the upcoming list below it. We added the coordinate option to force the Google Maps API to focus on a specific point when it gets confused. That’s the best solution The Events Calendar can provide, but it might be worth checking that the addresses being entered are as specific as possible, down to the 4-digit postal code. You may also include the coordinates when creating venues to ensure the map displays them when used.
Thanks again for following up!

MemberHi Jennifer,
First off, my apologies for the issue! The situation you’re describing where recurring exclusions are missing is indeed a bug and I’m sorry for the trouble with it so far. Recurring events is a key feature in Events Calendar PRO and we understand the need to get the exclusions portion of it back in running order.
That said, we are in the process of working on it. I hope a fix is coming soon but unfortunately do not have a specific timeline for it. For the time being, the only workaround is to create a recurring event, then manually delete the instances you would like to be excluded.
I have added this thread to the ticket in our system and will be sure to follow-up with you here when I know more. In the meantime, I will mark this thread as Pending Fix.
Thanks for your patience while we work on this!

MemberHi Chris, and welcome to the forums!
Sorry for the trouble here with Map View. I see what you mean: the default point for the view is in Africa and there are no upcoming events listed.
I have seen this come up before and it was the result of the map (or rather the Google Maps API) being unable to pinpoint the coordinates of the event’s venue address.
If you head over to Events > Settings, there is a section called Map Settings. In there is a button that says “Fix venues data.” Please click that, refresh your Map View and see if that makes a difference. If it does, great!
If it doesn’t then head over Events > Venues. If you click Edit on one of the venues, there is an option to use latitude and longitude coordinates (screenshot). Click on that option for each venue, confirm the coordinates, save the venue, then see if that makes a difference.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi James,
Thanks so much for following up! The extra information you provided is super helpful and I appreciate it.
I’m afraid that, in looking into this further, the recurrence feature of Events Calendar PRO is not integrated with WPML. WPML recognizes the recurring instances as duplicated posts rather than unique instances, which is causing the error.
I do see that we have an existing ticket in our system to looking into adding this integration. I’ve added this thread to the ticket for reference but unfortunately do not have any solutions for you at the moment. I’m really sorry about that, but does this at least help answer your question and clarify why the the issue was coming up with recurring events?
Thank you,
Geoff -
