MemberGreat questions!
1. Events Calendar PRO will give Organizers and Venues their own page and show up and coming events specific to their Venu?
Yes, spot on. That is correct.
2. Events Calendar Community is part of the Event Calendar Pro or is this a separate purchase?
Community Events is a completely separate plugin and would need to be purchased in addition to Events Calendar PRO.
I’ll also add that all our products come with a full refund within 30 days of purchase, should they not work out as you’d expect. 🙂
Any other questions I can help with? Let me know!
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff

MemberHi @tutinom,
Thanks for reaching out!
I was just checking out your site (looking nice!) and found the test recurring event you had set up and it appears to only show once in the Month View (screenshot) as expected.
It’s worth noting that the setting to for showing only the first instance of a recurring series only applies to the List-style views in the plugin. In other words, a recurring event that has future instances will continue to display all the instances in something like Month View. Just want to mention that since it appears that Month View is the default view for your calendar.
Also I cannot change the “Clean up recurring” or “Create recurring events in advance for” settings.
That’s very strange indeed! I tried changing the settings myself on a test site and it appeared to work correctly (screencast). Is the issue that you change the values in those fields and they stay the same, even after saving your settings?
Thanks!

MemberHi Bridgett,
Thanks so much for he heads up! That’s something we happened to notice ourselves late last week and are planning to clean that up in the demo.
In the meantime, that should have no impact on most sites and ought to be isolated to the demo alone. Here’s a screenshot of the view switching on mobile when using the default WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme instead of the custom demo theme.
I think it should be good for you as well but, if it’s not for any reason at all, we’d be happy to help support that for you here in the forums. Plus, we do offer a full refund on all our products within 30 days of purchase, should it be something that ends up being a deal breaker.
Does this help a bit? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberThat does make more sense — thanks for clarifying!
I’m afraid that there is not a shortcode like that in Community Events. However, Events Calendar PRO does include pages specifically for Venues and Organizers to show a list of events tied to the venues and organizers linked to a specific event.
There is a nice overview of those pages right here in this post:
Does that help clear things up a bit more? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Stan,
Absolutely! Community Events includes the ability for those who submit events to see a list of their events–though I should note that they need to be registered members of the site and logged in for the calendar to be able to know which events to show that person.
If this is possible can we also have a main calendar on the site that all the separate calender’s would feed into?
The Events Calendar itself is the main calendar for all events on the site. Community Events adds an event submission form to the site and, once an event has been submitted to Community Events, it will be displayed in the main calendar view, where all published events are displayed.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Chris,
Absolutely! The Events Calendar is a free download and then you can purchase the Community Events plugin to add the functionality that allows users to submit events to your calendar–you can set it to accept events from everyone, or only those who are currently registered on your site.
Will this do the trick for you? It’s also worth mentioning that all our plugins come backed with a full refund within 30-days of purchase, should something not work out the way you had hoped. That should give you some time to play around with things. We also have a tutorial over here that walks through the various settings for Community Events that will give you a good idea of how it works.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey @hshelton,
Good question. I think the best way to accomplish this is to customize the widget template with one of your own.
There’s much more about how template overrides work here in our Themer’s Guide, but it basically boils down to this:
- Make a copy of the list-widget.php template. It is located at wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/widgets/list-widget.php.
- Make a new folder in your theme (or child theme) directory called tribe-events
- Make a new folder in that one called pro
- Make one more folder in that one called widgets
- Drop the copied list-widget.php template in that last folder
Now that the template is in your theme files, it can be customized to suit your needs. In this case, you can add in a “Find out more” link and subheaders as you see fit. 🙂
Will this help you get started? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHy Mark–nice to see you gain and hope you had a great weekend.
I just checked the site and it appears that the event is showing two tickets (screenshot).
Were you able to resolve the issue on your own? Or perhaps I’m missing something and you can help point me in the right direction.
Either way, please let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Austin,
Welcome to the forums! I’m stoked you’re using Events Calendar PRO–let’s try to work past this bit of frustration together and get what you’re looking for.
I want to have event list more like the one provided by the theme. http://imgur.com/2PC5w0C
Or event list just like from the calendar widget without the calendar. http://imgur.com/xxu3NtZHave you tried using the shortcodes that comes with Events Calendar PRO? The plugin includes several of them that allow you to embed any of the widgets into any page or post on your site. In this case, the Event List Widget looks like exactly what you’re looking for and you can embed it into your page/post by adding this to the content:
[tribe_events_list]This tutorial goes into much greater detail about how to use the shortcode, plus offers examples of how it can be used to show specific events.
Is this what you’re looking for and help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHowdy Benjamin!
Great question. The Events Calendar is a totally free plugin and can be downloaded and tested with no purchase whatsoever:
If you’re looking for more features on top of what is included there, then I’d suggest checking out our premium add-ons, all of which include a full refund policy within 30 days of purchase. That would give you a good amount of time to download, install and test drive the plugins to see if they are a good fit for your venue.
Our premium add-ons come in lots of flavors, so please let me know if you have any specific questions about any of them and I’d be happy to help!
Cheers,

MemberHi Rachel, thanks so much for reaching out and I hope you had a great weekend. By the way, the website is looking very good. 🙂
Performance issues can be very frustrating and I’m sorry that’s popping up for you. There could be many reasons for it and I’m happy to work with you to figure out how we can get things to possibly speed up.
First thing: what kind of recurring events are you creating? For example, do they have a definitive end date or are they recurring on an infinite basis? If you could screenshot the recurring settings for one of the events in question, that would be awesome and appreciated!
Secondly:Â is both the front end and back end of the website slow? Or is it one particular view, such as Month View, that is slow?
Third: Are you on a shared hosting plan, or a dedicated server? Just want to get an idea of what hosting everything is sitting on.
I also see that you have tried the following:
- Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
- Switched to a default theme? Yes
Did you notice any difference in performance when all non-Modern Tribe plugins were deactivated or when you switched to a default WordPress theme, like Twenty Sixteen? How about when you do those two things together?
These questions will help us get started, but I may need to ask a few more as we continue to dig in and figure this out together. I’ve seen the calendar work very well on sites with several thousand events, so we’ll have to see what’s happening in this particular instance and that might take some back-and-forth.
Thanks so much!
GeoffGeoff
MemberHey Lisa, and thanks for getting in touch! I hope the plugins will be a nice addition to your site. 🙂
Good question. You can indeed create private events. Here is a screenshot of that option in the event editor.
If an event is marked as private, then it will only display on the calendar for those who are logged into WordPress.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers and hope you had a great weekend!
