Hey Terry–nice to see you again and I hope all is well!

Good question. Instead of CSS, this will take something a little different. In fact, we have a nice little tutorial with a snippet example available to help with this right here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/altering-or-removing-titles-on-calendar-views/

Will this work for you? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

Hey @Myriam and thanks for writing in!

There’s definitely no need to purchase Events Calendar PRO with Community Events. The Community Events plugin will work seamlessly with The Events Calendar, without PRO installed. πŸ™‚

The Knowledgebase and Technical Documentation are the two best places for info on Community Events. Is there something you’re looking for specifically that I might be able to help answer? Let me know and I’d be happy to try!

    Cheers!

    Hey @SkillPro,

Great question! And, yes, Event Tickets Plus is a drop-in replacement for WooCommerce Tickets. In fact, the first release of Event Tickets Plus was merely a wrapper of all our existing ticketing plugins into a single package.

That said, there have been updates and changes since the initial release. I’d recommend following the steps outlined in this guide to help make the full transition:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/

Will this help you get started? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

Hey Dave, thanks so much for reaching out! I’m stoked to hear you and your client are looking into our plugins and I hope they’re a good fit for the project. πŸ™‚

Absolutely–Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus will get you everything you’re looking for with event registration.

Event Tickets is a free plugin that allows you to set up free RSVP tickets for events on our other free plugin, The Events Calendar.

When you install and activate Event Tickets Plus on top of that, it will connect Event Tickets to WooCommerce, which allows you to set up paid tickets for events.

Event Tickets Plus also has a feature that allows you to collect information for each ticket when they are purchased. This is helpful for things such as meal options, t-shirt sizes, or any other information you’d like to collect at checkout.

Does this sound like what you’re looking for? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Hey Sheldon,

What a great question! I haven’t seen this come up in the past and it’s certainly a cool idea.

I do want to note that it will take a fair amount of custom development to make that happen. While we’re fairly limited in how much we can support that, I’d be happy to at least point you in the right direction, if I can.

The function for grabbing an events featured image is this:Β tribe_event_featured_image()

You can use that to fetch the image for an eventΒ by adding it to the single-event.php template, which is located here:

    /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/month/single-event.php

(It’s worth noting that you can override this template in your theme directory so that your changes do not get lost on future updates. The instructions are here in our Themer’s Guide.)

Once you display the image in the template, you’ll want to use CSS to position the image correctly and display it behind the content. That will take some experimentation and testing, but should be achievable.

Will this help you get started? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

You bet! We actually have a guide available right here that walks though that process step-by-step:

Testing Conflicts With Themes and Other Plugins

The good news is that you not need to go that route at all. I was just checking your website this morning and see that the option does not appear to be displayed on the event page (screenshot).

If there are any events that have the option displayed and you’d prefer not to testing for conflicts by switching themes, then please send me the link to the event in question and I’d be happy to provide you with some CSS to hide the option. πŸ™‚

    Thanks!

    Hey Tommy,

Thanks so much for the screenshots — those help a ton!

It looks like the tickets in second screenshot (this one) have an end sale date of July 10, 2016 which is past today’s date. That means the tickets are actually not on sale any more and, as such, the tickets will not be displayed on the site. If you were to change the end date to something in the future of today’s date, then the tickets should be displayed.

Does that help clarify what’s happening a bit? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Hey Toby,

Thanks so much for checking out Community Events! I hope it’s a good fit for what you;re looking for. πŸ™‚

While the saved venue and organizer fields are there and un-editable, it is possible to hide those fields with CSS. Then, our Events Calendar PRO plugin does include the ability to create custom fields and those will be included on the Community Events submission form.

For example. you could create a simple textΒ field in Events Calendar PRO called Venue and that will appear in the form.

Yeah, the country field can be removed with CSS — at least, that is likely how I would approach it.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Hey Kam and welcome back!

There are quite a few shortcodes in Events Calendar PRO that will embed the widget that come with the plugin. Here’s an overview of what they are and how they work:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

I’m afraid that none of the shortcodes will embed a full calendar view, but that is something we are actively working on and hope to includeΒ in an upcoming feature release.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Hey Michael,

    Great questions!

Yes, there is indeed a setting in Event Tickets Plus that will try to force an order to autocomplete. You can find that under Events > Settings > Tickets (screenshot). That is specifically for WooCommerce, so it will not work with other ecommerce plugins that I’m aware. It’s also worth noting that the setting is an attempt to autocomplete the order and has not worked on every site. That said, there is a free WooCommerce extension to autocomplete orders.

    2. Can I display an event ticket on my product/shop page?

Absolutely. Assuming you’re using WooCommerce, you can edit the ticket by heading to the Products menu item in the WordPress dashboard menu, selecting the ticket, then changing the visibility settings to display the ticket in the product catalog (screenshot).

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Cheers!
