MemberOh yeah, we actually offer something like that already. We have Community Events, which allows folks to submit events to the calendar and Community Tickets that allows those folks to create and sell tickets for those events on top of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus. ๐
In fact, you might even be interested in our Community Manager bundle, which includes these as well as a couple of other plugins at a discounted price.
I see you marked this thread as resolves, so I will go ahead and close it — but please feel free to let us know if any other questions pop up and we’d be more than happy to help.
Cheers!

MemberHey Patti,
So sorry for the screenshots being made public! We’ve et those back to private and all should be good now. ๐
Thanks for using The Events Calendar!

MemberHey Mark,
So sorry for the trouble here with recurring events! This is actually something we discovered last Friday and we quickly released a patch for it in Events Calendar 4.2.2.1. I see you are currently running 4.2.2, so I’d definitely encourage you to update.
And, when you do, please read over our release notes. We included a mini plugin that will help clean up all those duplicated events along with instructions on how to use it.
Please give that a shot and let me know if the issues continues from there. ๐
Thanks so much!

MemberHey Gabriel and thanks for getting in touch! I’m stoked to hear you’re checking out the plugins. ๐
It’s totally possible to get what you’re looking for with with Events Calendar PRO and Event Tickets Plus.
Events Calendar PRO will indeed provide the venue pages you are looking for and they will display events being held specifically at the venue being viewed.
Event Tickets Plus will allow you to create and sell tickets for the events on your calendar by connecting it with an ecommerce plugin (like WooCommerce) that acts as the shopping cart for checkout and handles the transaction.
So your configuration will look this:
- The Events Calendar (free) – This provides the main calendar functionality.
- Events Calendar PRO – This provides the venue pages, in addition to other great features you might need down the road.
- Event Tickets (free) – This sets up the ticketing functionality to create free tickets for events.
- Event Tickets Plus – This connects Event Tickets to WooCommerce to create and sell paid tickets for events.
- WooCommerce (free) – This is the ecommerce plugin that handles the transactions for selling tickets.
Does this make sense and sound like a good fit for you? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHi Tricor and thanks for writing in!
I do want to note that we use this Pre-Sales forum to answer questions about the premium plugins features and support with purchasing them, and that you can find technical support in our premium forumsย (with an active license), or general support in our WordPress.org forum for The Events Calendar.
That said, I’d be happy to help point you in the right direction here, if I can!
The first thing I notice is there there are no upcoming events on the calendar you linked to and the search functionality is currently designed to look specifically for upcoming events. It would be possible to alter the search functionality to show past events, but I do think that will take a fair amount of custom development. For that, I’d encourage you to check out our Themer’s Guide and our documentation as starting points. Specifically, you can find where the search bar is created here in the code and where the search looks for upcoming events here in the code.
Sorry I don’t have a concrete answer for you, but I do hope this at least helps get the ball rolling!
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff
MemberNice, thanks Tom! I’ve successfully received the theme and will be looking at it with one of the developers on our team. Again, I wish I could promise a resolution here, but we’ll certainly do our best.
I’ll keep this thread marked “Waiting on us” in the meantime to make sure it doesn’t fall through the cracks. ๐
Thanks a ton for your help and patience with this!

MemberOh shoot, that’s not what we were hoping for!
Would you be willing to provide us with a copy of your theme? You can ZIP it up and share it with a Dropbox link, or some other file sharing service.
I can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to figure this one out, since the theme author is so much more familiar with the code, but we’d be happy to at least take a look and go from there.
Thanks so much and sorry for the back and forth!

MemberHey Tom,
Oh yes, looking at this it appears that the page you linked to is using a custom query for tags.
The reason we made the change is because there were instances where a query for tag results in events and posts displaying together, where they should actually be separated.
I’d be really interested to know how the query for the posts on that page is created. Is there any chance you can reach out to the theme author to check? Depending on the method being used, we ought to be able to specify theย tribe_events custom post type in that query and all should work as expected–but I’ll need that extra bit of context to confirm.
And, at worst, the theme author will be able to chime in with additional thoughts, if possible.
Thanks so much for working with me on this! We’ll get to the bottom of it so you can use the latest versions. ๐

MemberOh, are you using pretty permalinks? If not, then that would clarify things quite a bit because the calendar performs much better with them enabled.
Thanks!

MemberHi Tom and so sorry for the trouble here!
We did make a recent change to the way tag queries are handled in The Events Calendar 4.2.2:
Fix โ Only add the events custom post type to the tag archive queries and not custom queries with tags
Are you using a custom query with tags? If so, would you be willing to share a link to where we can see that on your site? It might be something as simple as needing to specify theย tribe_events custom post type in the query, but I’d be happy to confirm that by looking at the link.
Thanks a ton!

MemberHi Ben, and thanks for writing in!
Man, that’s an odd issue and admittedly something I haven’t come across before.
I just tried creating a paid ticket on my test site and it seemed to stick without reverting to an RSVP. Here’s a screencast of what I tried.
Are you seeing something different? If so, it would be great if you could detail that for a bit and I’d be happy to look into it!
Thanks so much,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHey there and welcome to the forums!
I see you tried the following:
- Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
- Switched to a default theme? Yes
Did you happen to notice a difference when running the latest versions of the plugins (4.2.2)? How about when deactivating all other pluginsย and switching to a default theme together?
The reason I ask is because I do not get the same JS error in the console on my test site (screenshot). That makes me think there is a conflict with either the theme, another installed plugin, or both.
Let’s start with that and see what we find. ๐
Thanks!

MemberHey Noel,
So sorry for the trouble here! I went ahead and refunded the order for the larger amount (#1139152) and went ahead and extended your Events Calendar PRO license for an additional year free of charge for the hassle.ย The funds should be back in your account in the next 5-10 business days.
Please log into your account here on this site and head to My Account > Licenses Keys to confirm that you have the two active licenses you need and let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help.
Thanks so much!
