MemberHello sabinevi,
Thanks for contacting us!
You may find the Event Rocket plugin to be very useful. It is experimental and we are not able to support it, but it was created by one of our developers and it might give you some of the answers you’re looking for. It has a shortcode functionality that I believe does exactly what you need for your homepage.
As far as removing the category from the filter bar, for now the best solution we can offer is to remove it visually with css. In our upcoming maintenance release (due imminently) there will be a filter to control these categories.
Does this make sense? Can you give the plugin a spin and see if that works for you?

MemberHello kellymarie2001,
Thanks for upgrading and thanks for contacting us! Sorry for the delay in our response, we do a full forum pass every 24 hours, not including weekends and holidays. We typically don’t log into customer’s accounts, for liability concerns.
To fix your 404 errror, you may need to “flush permalinks,” by resaving your permalinks in the Settings > Permalinks admin page. If that doesn’t work, it could be a number of different problems.
This may sound silly, but are you sure your events have a ‘published’ status? If they have a ‘draft’ status they won’t display. ‘Find Events’ will work once we figure out why your events aren’t publishing.
At Modern Tribe we work hard to release polished and clean, professional software. However in the open source market place, this is not always the case.
Before submitting a support post, we ask users to deactivate all plugins and change to a theme like Twentytwelve, as a proven way to check for conflicts.
Ideally, they will do this on a local, development, or staging environment. It’s possibly a little tedious, but it is the surest and most efficient way to get to the root of a complicated issue. We know this after years of combined experience troubleshooting technological problems of all shapes and sizes.
If the issue still occurs on a normalized system, there is more than likely a problem with our plugin (a bug).
If the issue goes away on a normalized system, there is more than likely conflict with another plugin or theme that is not ours.
This is an integral part of our troubleshooting process. By reactivating plugins one at a time, checking the problem with each activation, you can immediately find out where the conflict is. Otherwise, it is a difficult (impossible) guessing game.
Can you please deactivate your plugins and theme, to confirm the problem goes away and your published events show? Please reactivate each piece, until the problem comes back. Please let us know which plugin causes the problem.
It looks like your Community Events plugin is activated and working. You can find the URL for the ‘add event’ page at http://www.labeerbloggers.org/calendar/community/add. To add it to the menu, just create a menu item with that link. Let me know if you need more help with adding it.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

MemberHello hsale, thanks for contacting us and sorry you are having this issue! Would you mind starting another thread? You may be having a different issue than bobski and a different thread will allow us to give you individual attention!
Bobski, your link to http://217.199.187.73/corkracecourse.ie/ seems to be gone. Can you offer another link so that we can troubleshoot?
Cheers!

MemberHello unpublishedauthor,
Are you using a theme or template override at all? There is even less data in the tooltip now.
In the single event view, the date is still missing but the start time is there now
I wonder if this is a problem left over from the reoccurring events issue. Maybe somehow the data got damaged? I’ll check with a dev on that.
Could you could check for a ‘tribe-events’ folder in your active theme’s directory? That is located in your wp-content/themes/[theme] folder. This is a template override that might be cause problems with the tooltip.
Also, could try temporarily activating a normal theme like Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen and see if the problem persists?

MemberHello castledesign,
Please make sure you have a recent backup of your site before you start! I’m assuming nothing bad will happen, but better to be safe than sorry.
Here is an example of my functions.php file, I am using the Twentytwelve theme. I suggest you stick this at ‘the top’ of the file. Make sure the first ‘<?php’ is in front of the line (Yellow arrow), make sure the code is after any comments (Blue arrow), and feel free to stick it in there right after that (Red arrow).
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

MemberHello grahamstacey,
I tested the template override and it appears to be working on my install jut fine, no duplicates or other mess.
Also, as of this evening, your widget isn’t displaying any events, so it is even more difficult to troubleshoot.
It appears you have some events coming in a few days though, so I will keep an eye on this thread to make. Actually, I’m not sure why your widget isn’t populating, as the events are in a few days.
Could you post the configuration of you widget’s pane?
Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!
Cheers!

MemberAs a developer and sysadmin I definitely empathize with your frustration. When there is a functioning difference between two identical instances, troubleshooting ideas dry up fast. 🙁
The maintenance plugin sounds like good idea. Depending on the size of your site, I can’t imagine it would take too long to update, especially if you do it during a traffic lull.
Please make sure you have a recent backup of your site before you start! I’m assuming nothing bad will happen, but better to be safe than sorry. I’m assuming you already know this, but still wanted to make an effort to have your bases covered.
Let me know how it works out!

MemberHello iterutravel,
I’m not sure what happened here, but I want to apologize profusely! I just found this thread in my queue, somehow buried at the bottom!
Even more confusing, I distinctly remember answering this question. Some how my answer must have gone missing.
From what I can tell from looking at your site, you are no longer using The Events Calendar. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get it installed!
Cheers!
