Hello centrefemmes, sorry you’re having this issue!

I think I may have a solution, if you could try these steps:

    • Make sure all other plugins are deactivated
    • Switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twelve
    • Manually flush your permalinks, by resaving them in WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks

If that fixes your problem, go ahead and reactivate your theme, and then you plugins. If the problem comes back after turning everything on again, there may be a conflict.

Does this make sense? Let me know how it turns out!

    Cheers!

    Hello epixmedia and jany,

Here is a solution that I believe will help you both. http://pastebin.com/WpjU1Eyi

Add this code to the bottom of your theme’s functions.php file (be careful there isn’t extra space or lines at the end of the last semicolon).

It will filter our date formatter, and format them the same way as they are formatted in the WordPress General Settings.

We are currently improving our plugin so you won’t need this code in the future.

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work!

    Cheers!

Unfortunately there is no other solution than the one you currently have in place. 🙁

Pagelines will have to update their theme for any elegant long-term solution.

I imagine you or another developer could create a hack to make it happen, but that level of customization is beyond the scope of these support forums.

Sorry for the headaches you’re experiencing!

Sorry reddishpink, I can’t offer any help with a tangible timeline. The best I can offer is that we are working on a solution, but it would be a disservice for me to give you a predictable time frame.

We were excited to release 3.5, as it made this and many other features possible in the future. With so many ideas in the pipeline though, it’s difficult to know when each will be ready for release.

The nature of software development makes it difficult to predict the future. We hold quality, simplicity and backwards-compatibility to a high standard, and bugs, feature requests and industry trends are obstacles to predicting the rate of development. Especially when projecting for any length into the future, sometimes even we find ourselves unsure of what a few months forward might bring.

So we remain diligent in our active development, so that when we ship, we are confident it is the quality our customers expect.

What we have now is our current feature set, until we release another update.

Does that make sense? Sorry for the opaque answer! It is the best answer I can offer at this time.

Thanks for your support so far! Cheers!

    Hi again!

After checking with our developers it seems Pagelines hasn’t been updated in nearly a year. http://wordpress.org/themes/pagelines

In the last year, WordPress has seen some major updates, especially the admin UI updates in version 3.8. The Pagelines theme tries to add some very unconventional functionality, and it seems your website is caught in the crossfire.

We’d be happy to offer guidance to the Pagelines developers on how to register our featured images. They will have to update their theme however, in order to achieve maximum feature compatibility.

If the Pagelines theme is no longer in development, switching to a theme under active development might save you headaches in other ways, including security and updated functionality.

Does this answer your concerns clearly? Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

Hello spinline, thanks for your support thus far! As you mention, we are actively developing several features, while maintaining simplicity and backwards compatibility.

Thank you for sharing your concern with us. I completely sympathize with your position and I wish I could offer you more information.

Unfortunately, there are just too many popular feature requests that we can not guarantee the release of any one of them. In the last year we have released several updates (including new views, a new search, and rewritten recurring events among others) and have many more exciting features and updates in the pipeline.

Thanks for letting us know your concern, and feel free to submit your feature requests! We take user submitted feedback seriously and we welcome your contribution!

Let me know if I can offer any other help or answer any other questions.

    Hello econclubtampa!

Sorry to hear about this! I believe you uncovered a theme conflict. I am able to reproduce the problem with the free non pro version of Pagelines Platform.

Just to confirm, you are using The Event Calendar 3.5.1, The Event Calendar Pro 3.5.1 and the Pagelines Platform Pro theme. When you didn’t have The Event Calendar Pro, you were able to add a featured image. But now that you are using The Event Calendar Pro, you are unable to add a featured image. You must switch themes to do so, and this is obviously not ideal. 🙁

Since I can reproduce this, I will be contacting the devs to see if we can fix it for a future release. We do our best to maintain compatibility on popular themes like Pagelines Platform. In the mean time, you might want to contact the Pagelines support team and see if they can offer a more immediate fix.

Otherwise, it seems the solution you have in place is currently the best available. It might be somewhat faster if you deactivated The Events Calendar Pro, instead of switching themes.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

    Hello reddishpink!

Converting the way recurring events are stored was a big update for us in 3.5.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/march-release-responsive-and-recurrance/

The other big note in this release has to do with recurring events. We’ve fully rearchitected how recurring events work. You won’t notice a huge difference in this release, but the updates will allow us to do some really cool things in the future including custom recurrence and finally getting recurring events to work with our ticketing plugins.

Unfortunately, recurring ticketing with WooCommerce is not yet supported, as discussed in the Roadmap section here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-wootickets/

So while there is no solution right now, we’ve heard quite a bit of demand for this feature and hope to release a solution at some point in the future.

We take a great interest in what features our users would like to see. You can vote for this feature and others at our UserVoice forum.

    http://tribe.uservoice.com/

I hope this clarifies things 🙂

    Cheers!

    Casey
