MemberSorry for the delay hansford77 – this unfortunately slipped off the radar and I can only apologize for the delay.
I believe you have found a bug here and your correction seems sound (plus, it looks like, one of the team corrected something similar in related function tribe_get_meta()). We’ll need to do a few further checks and this change realistically won’t make the very next maintenance release, but hopefully we’ll slot the fix in shortly thereafter.
Out of curiosity, after making that change in the core code yourself did you find your snippet worked? I’m asking only because it seems to me like wp_head may be too early for that code to be successful (though if it works, it works!).
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Sean,
Apologies for the delay however as per the forum overview it can take 24-48hrs during the working week to deliver a reply to requests for support and that does not include weekends – it looks like you only posted on Friday and so your thread was probably missed by a narrow margin, but even so we’re still within our stated response times here.
You’ve also posted questions about a range of different issues, can we ask you to break these down into separate threads? This can avoid a lot of confusion and can often allow us to provide you with more timely support (as different team members can take on different threads).
First, I did have the issue of October starting on the wrong day, so I updated the php file.
OK – so if I’m understanding you correctly you applied a fix and this issue is now resolved? If not/you need further support, please create a new thread.
Second, on the month view, one of my months (june) is significantly larger than the other months? Thoughts on that.
You’re basically trying to fit a calendar grid into a fairly tight space there and have some pretty long event titles – June 2014’s a great example of this – but we can clamp things down by adding some additional CSS rules, like these (which you could for instance add to a custom tribe-events.css file – please see our Themer’s Guide for details of this process).
Let me know if that helps – and, again, for any of the other issues please create new threads as needed.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberOK – well that would be a shame but you can in any case keep this “in your back pocket” should you need it. I’ll go ahead and close this thread now.
Thanks again!
Barry
MemberGreat that worked for you – and we’ll take note of adding this to our documentation. Thanks again!
Barry
MemberIt does sound like a conflict, certainly, though I saw you noted when you opened the thread that you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme.
So if that didn’t resolve this then repeating that same test with our latest releases is probably the way to go 🙂

MemberHi Kevin,
I can’t actually replicate the very same thing so long as I go to the earliest instance of the event to make the change. However, if I edit (for example) the fourth in the series and apply the change to all then yes that will create a new chain of events – so the 1st-3rd events from the original series become one “chain” and the 4th-onwards a new chain – and they will indeed be given a new slug (which is appropriate, as a new post is generated for them and they are to all intents and purposes separate entities at that point).
Is it possible then that that is what’s happening here – that you are editing something other than the very first event in the series?

MemberHi paulpetch,
The ability to embed views in other pages/posts has not been a design goal of The Events Calendar and has a number of challenges attached – so this really has to be a piece of work that you pursue yourself (not that it’s impossible by any means, just that it is outwith what we can offer support for).
It does sound like you’re very close but really you’d need to keep digging through the code here to arrive at a solution 🙂
Thanks for getting in touch though – it’s always great to see people building interesting things on top of The Events Calendar – however on this occasion there isn’t too much more we can offer and so I’ll go ahead and close this thread.

MemberHi mastafu – since it sounds like this question related to Community Events I’m going to move it across to that forum so our expert there can assist.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi millie6, thanks for getting in touch 🙂
This sounds like it may be a CSS issue and so although a screenshot can be useful at times it would probably be better to provide a link to the relevant page (that way we can inspect the CSS rules already added by your theme and so on).
I did take a look at the URL you provided when you opened this thread but was unable to locate the calendar. Can you confirm which URL I should look at?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi accessrose,
The Events Calendar was not built with this (embedding it in other pages) as one of its design goals – so although it’s possible you’d need a solid grasp of PHP and WordPress development to implement it. For that reason, it’s beyond what we can offer support for here on the forum and I’ll go ahead and close this thread.
Remember also that if you want to see better tools or guides to doing this sort of task we very much welcome any suggestions and you can post them over on our UserVoice page.
Sorry we can’t offer more on this occasion, and thanks for posting 🙂

MemberHi @givehope since we didn’t hear back from you and it’s been at least a couple of weeks I’m going to assume this is resolved and will close this thread. Of course if there’s anything else we can help with please don’t hesitate to open new threads as needed.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberGlad you found this thread – and that it solved the problem 🙂
Barry
MemberGreat, well I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but if you do develop a shortcode solution for The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO that you’re happy to share with the community that would be awesome to see 🙂
Thanks – and good luck!

MemberHi millcreekpark,
We definitely appreciate your position and are genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. To give you a sense of when this may be fixed, it is again unlikely it will make the very next maintenance release (due imminently) but quite possible it will make the following one – and we aim to turn out maintenance releases on a rolling monthly basis.
From our side we’d love to jump on this, determine a fix and release it instantly. In practice though we have finite development resources and for each release we also need to perform quality assurance checks on any new bits of code or amendments – this all takes time and the greater the number of fixes we stack into one release the longer, of course, it takes to get that release out of the door.
I hope that gives you some idea of how things will progress and to what approximate timeline – and I will go ahead and close this thread. Of course if you have any other questions or any other issues crop up please do feel free to create new threads as needed 🙂
Thanks!
Barry
MemberNo problem at all. I’ll go ahead and close this now – but if you need to relay any questions from the theme developers (or you just have other questions) please don’t hesitate to create news threads as needed.
Thanks!
