ParticipantHey guys. Love the plugin (s) they are beautiful! I have a site recently launched. Months of development. It is a photography workshop commerce site. http://shop.paulpetch.co.nz/
Currently i have pages with a variable set to date. Great for this short term. Not so much long term so want to use tickets and calendar.
1. I’d like to call individual calendars to the workshop page. For example http://shop.paulpetch.co.nz/shop/workshops-for-photographers-new-zealand/visual-story-telling-workshop-auckland/
I’m going to remove the OPTIONS as you currently see and then once user finds date they want then its off to the next step > then checkout.
What code do i add to add specific calendars / categories to a template?
2. The second thing i’d like to do is change field names so it fits with ‘workshops’ rather then ‘events’.
– Details to>> Workshop Details
– Event Category to>> Workshop Name
– Website to>> Workshop Details
– Organizer to>> Tutor/s
– Phone to>> Tutor PhoneVenue to>> Workshop Location
I hope this makes sense.
THANK YOU. You are awesome and don’t you forget it 🙂

MemberHi paulpetch,
Thanks for the kind words 🙂

You can pull specific views in with tribe_get_view(), however it’s not quite that simply as most of the time you will also want the support JS and CSS to be available – you’d need to take care of enqueuing that yourself.
An alternative then could be making use of our widgets and embedding them either by creating a new sidebar specific-to-this-role or else make use of the WordPress API to embed them directly.
It definitely sounds like a great project but, I’m afraid, we can’t help much further with customizations like this.
The second thing i’d like to do is change field names so it fits with ‘workshops’ rather then ‘events’.
Have you checked out our tutorials page? In particular you might be interested in:
* Changing labels for iCal/Google Calendar links in single event view
* Relabeling the Venue/Organizer sections in single event viewThey may not precisely cover the same changes as you want to make (the first in particular is really more to give you a feel for customization work with The Events Calendar) but they definitely ought to give you a taste of how it all works – remember also that we have a comprehensive Themer’s Guide and technical docs, too.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks! We are looking at it as we speak. Shortcodes. That is all 😉
I’ll keep you updated.

MemberGreat, well I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but if you do develop a shortcode solution for The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO that you’re happy to share with the community that would be awesome to see 🙂
Thanks – and good luck!
