ParticipantSorry if this is addressed elsewhere, but I’ve just realised that the upcoming events widget on a website we’ve recently sent live is only displaying events for the current month.
The result of this is that come the end of a month, or even in the last week, there maybe only 1-2 or even no events showing, depending on the calendar.
Is this standard? Is there an easy fix for this?
Here’s the website: aucklandseafoodschool.co.nz/upcoming-cooking-classes/
Thanks

MemberIt certainly shouldn’t behave that way.
I do note you are one version behind the latest release, though. In the first instance can you try updating all your Modern Tribe event plugins to 3.1 and then if necessary repeat the initial troubleshooting steps (deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme)?
Thanks!

ParticipantOk will do some testing and see if we can’t figure it out our end.
However I don’t think an update is going to fix it as we’ve had the widget for a while and in the last release when it was up to date still behaved the same way.
Perhaps a conflict….
Cheers

MemberIt does sound like a conflict, certainly, though I saw you noted when you opened the thread that you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme.
So if that didn’t resolve this then repeating that same test with our latest releases is probably the way to go 🙂

MemberHi antoninplusmargaux – please do feel free to monitor this thread but if you need help that is specific to you/your installation it would be appreciated if you could create a new thread of your own.
Thanks!

MemberGreat: scratchdigital how are you getting on here, did you have a chance to do some testing?
October 29, 2013 at 2:01 pm #73647Marcy
ParticipantI am experiencing the same issue. We have no more events for October, so instead of the Upcoming Events widget showing events in November, it just is blank. Site is at: http://sbdcfortlewis.org

ParticipantBarry, thanks for the followup – no we haven’t had a chance to do any more testing – but seems I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.
The issue is quite evident at this time of the month, check the sidebar out on this page: http://aucklandseafoodschool.co.nz/our-chefs/
Appreciate any further insight – otherwise when we get to testing it we’ll let you know if we find a conflict.
Cheers, Ed.

MemberThanks Ed: for anyone else experiencing this, please do take the time to create a new thread of your own (so you can share your URL, indicate what troubleshooting steps you have completed so far, etc) and ideally also post your system information from the Events → Help admin screen 🙂

ParticipantOur developer just checked this and found out we are actually using the calendar widget, which only shows current month (we’ve just hidden the calendar).
So, anyway to make the calendar widget easily display more than just the current month..?!
🙂

MemberHi Ed,
That would certainly explain why you’re facing this! I’m sure you can see now why we like people to take their installation back to a basic state with no other plugins and only a default, unmodified theme (partly in case of conflicts with code from other vendors, but also to detect issues resulting from customizations) – it can save a lot of time and effort 🙂
What you want to do here is possible with the calendar widget, but it’s not what the calendar widget is designed for. It would probably be more appropriate to use the list widget – which by the sounds of it provides the functionality you are after here – and, if appropriate, style it to look like the list that appears below the calendar widget (if the appearance is the reason you/your designer chose to do this).
We’ve got some great information linked to in the Useful Resources widget over on the right you might make use of – otherwise I’m afraid we’ll really need to leave the details of such a change up to you.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread – of course for anyone else experiencing this but where the cause is something other than it was for Ed please do create a new thread.
Thanks everyone!
