Need more occurances than 200.

I think I asked this before, but don’t know if there is a way to change this since they upgrade. Is there a way for an event to recur indefinitely?

I have a client who uses their calendar as a fitness schedule: http://www.mvmansionhouse.com/health-club-schedule/. Previously we were having them set the recurrence of classes into 2016 since I was told there was no way to make an even recur indefinitely. The client told me that recently he started getting a message that says “Your recurrence pattern would create greater than 200 occurrences. Please change the pattern to have fewer recurrences.” He is trying to create a class that happens twice weekly, set to end in late 2016. As you can see this will cause over 300 recurrences. If he can’t do this, this is a major problem.

What suggestions do you have as a workaround? Ideally we’d prefer to have the classes recur indefinitely.

Would a snippet like this one (which you could drop into your theme’s functions.php file) work for you? You could of course adapt the value to suit – I set it to 1000 just to illustrate how it works.

Do bear in mind the potential impact this may not only when those recurring events are created but when they are queried by visitors to the site.

Thank you. I’ll keep this in mind. The client is now thinking they want to revert to using regular pdfs they create on their own, and dropping the plugin completely, so it may be a mute point.
