MemberGreat!
I’ll close this thread, but of course if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to post new threads as needed ๐

MemberI’m sorry you’re facing so many issues. That said, much of what you listed in your last reply are really things that you are free to customize – such as tailoring the checkout/cart pages to display additional event information – rather than problems with the plugin itself.
Please also remember that we try to stick to one issue per thread: with regards to the recurring events issue, which is what we were dealing with here initially, I can really only emphasize that recurring events are not currently supported by WooCommerce Tickets. We’re definitely interested in making some changes in that regard but right now it’s a limitation which you would need to workaround yourself, if you need to do so.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but please do feel free to post additional threads for any other issues that are still outstanding (though bear in mind if you wish to implement more advanced customizations we can probably only point you in the right direction) and one of the team will be only too happy to help.

MemberI’m glad that worked and our apologies once again for the disruption: this certainly shouldn’t happen in the future – and thanks for bearing with us ๐

MemberOK, so we’re investigating ways of making the countdown widget more tolerant of a large number of events: right now though you can workaround this by disabling that widget, as described here. It’s not ideal, especially if you wish to use the countdown widget, but it may form a practical and temporary solution.
There are thousands and thousands of events โ didnโt realize. I guess due to โrecurring foreverโ? Although the dates are wonky โ so yes, I suppose there are unwanted duplicates.
Unfortunately it sounds like you’ve been hit by a bug that occurred for a number of users upon updating the plugins recently. The duplicates resulting from this bug could certainly have pushed the volume of events past the point that the countdown widget can deal with in the admin environment … but don’t despair! We do have a cleanup plugin to help with this. Please see:
https://theeventscalendar.com/release-events-calendar-pro-3-5-2-hotfix/
That blog post provides a download link and some basic instructions. Between that and the other technique of disabling the countdown widget (though hopefully you find that isn’t necessary after cleaning up the duplicates) you should get things up and running again.
Sorry again for the inconvenience and let me know if we can help further (kairosdesign hopefully this also helps you, but if not please do create a new thread of your own and one of the team will be happy to assist ๐ ).

MemberHi Jane – great questions!
Just about anything is possible especially if you’re happy to do a little customization work and it does indeed sound like you’ve got some of the skills that would be needed for this ๐
Additionally, there are numerous plugins out there – albeit unofficial – such as Event Rocket that can help you to put the main events page on the front page of your blog.
All that to say, both of the things you wish to implement are absolutely achievable and there are a wealth of support resources and bits of existing code out there to get you on the right track.
I hope that answers your questions but please don’t hesitate to let me know if we can assist with anything else ๐

MemberHmm, I’m afraid I’m not familiar with Autochimp. What you outlined sounds like a reasonable workaround though – if it isn’t working perhaps you could reach out to the Autochimp authors and ask them what the criteria are for triggering notifications?
For instance, it may only “listen” for posts in the conventional sense rather than custom post types like events.

MemberHi lowtotheground,
I’m sorry you’re experiencing a smoother-than-ideal situation here: can you confirm if it looks as if everything “stops” on that screen after the appearance of the Event Countdown widget?
Can you also tell me approximately how many events you have and (especially if you recently updated) if it looks as though some may be unwanted duplicates?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi jscarlett,
Sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
Are you using another plugin to control when and where widgets or sidebars display? If so, could the logic used to control that be the problem?
It sound like you’ve got a working solution in place, though, so if you’re happy to run with that that’s totally fine, too ๐

MemberHi!
I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties here.
The Countdown Widget unfortunately can fail (in the context of the widget admin screen) in some hosting environments if you have a large number of events. It would be great if you could confirm approximately how many events you have as that will help guide us as we make future improvements.
Though this will disable that widget entirely, perhaps if you aren’t using it (or can live without it for a while) you could try adding this short snippet to your theme’s functions.php file:
remove_action( 'widgets_init', 'tribe_countdown_register_widget' );That might provide some temporary relief here.

MemberHi!
Simply because it looks like you have a license for more than one of our plugins (and I’m not sure which you were referring to when you provided a note of the version number you are currently using) can you confirm which version of Facebook Events you are currently using?
We did make some recent changes to help with this situation and to the best of my knowledge they have been successful to date – but of course if not we can certainly take another look.
Thanks!

MemberHi!
We can certainly leave this open in case other members of the community can chime in and offer their services – beyond that it may be worth posting on a suitable freelancer advertising board (and even email us directly at pro [at] tri [dot] be if you want a list of independent freelancers who might be able to help).
Thanks!

MemberDoes this only happen when you have a translation plugin (qTranslate) activated? If so, unfortunately, there may not be too much we can do to help as especially in this case it sounds like the problem is with the way that plugin adds extra markup and the location it is added to.
Have you reached out to the authors of the other plugin?
Barry
MemberHow odd …. can you confirm you used the correct email address, namely pro (at) tri (dot) be?
Please don’t reply to forum notifications, though (if that’s what you tried) – as that will not work.
Barry
MemberDefinitely: we’ll leave this open until you can do that ๐
Barry
MemberNo problem at all – I hope you figure it out ๐
