Missing Sidebar

I have Event Cal Pro installed on a Yootheme theme and it was working fine until the sidebar widget attached to the Events page stopped showing. This widget contains the Events menu for the Events section.

I originally set up the Events Calendar with the Events URL Slug ‘events’ ( I have now changed it to ‘cdcevents’). I also had a page ‘Events’ with the slug ‘events’ and added an event category ‘Events’!!!!(both now deleted) Could this have caused the problem?

The sidebar widget ‘Events menu’ is set up in the theme to appear when the following are displayed:
– Tribe events
– Tribe venue
– Tribe organizer
– Tribe events categories

The side bar DOES appear when a Venue or Organizer is selected but not an Event or the Event Calendar.

I have got around this problem by using Event Categories instead of using the events slug(cdcevents) so this means my events page url is:
http://scarlettdesign.co.uk/dev/cdcfinalsite/cdcevents/category/all/
instead of just:
http://scarlettdesign.co.uk/dev/cdcfinalsite/cdcevents

Sorry you’re hitting difficulties.

Are you using another plugin to control when and where widgets or sidebars display? If so, could the logic used to control that be the problem?

It sound like you’ve got a working solution in place, though, so if you’re happy to run with that that’s totally fine, too 🙂
