MemberHi all,
Translations are very much a community effort and, following upgrades like the recent one, some pieces of text change and that unfortunately means new translations are required.
To help with the translation effort, please register for an account at translations.theeventscalendar.com and start making changes and updates where you see a need for them – your help is very much appreciated!
You can further download the corresponding .mo file and set it up locally to take advantage of the very latest set of translations (it is important not to confuse this with the .po file, which is not actually used by WordPress itself).

MemberHi Karolina,
If you open a project such as The Events Calendar over on our translations site, do you see a Project Actions link (just below the project description) – and on click that, do you further see an Import Originals link you can use?

MemberHi Valentina,
I’ve successfully used (and seen customers here on the forum using) Genesis child themes so I suspect the problem is not the Genesis framework itself, but rather the specific child theme in question.
Unfortunately, it’s really difficult to suggest a magic PHP snippet without knowing what sort of things that child theme is doing. If you feel comfortable doing so, how about starting with this approach:
- Crack open the child theme’s functions.php file
- Systematically work through it, commenting out one section at a time / disabling action and filter calls
- Test as you go along (you may need to combine this with permalink flushes) until you potentially discover which hook or section of code is causing the problem
Of course, some amount of care is needed since one section might depend on another – but it might offer you a way to get to the bottom of this and take corrective action until you can move to a different child theme.
Would that work here?

MemberThanks for testing, @jocwebsites.
The notes on the unclickable ‘saved’ button are particularly interesting. I’m not sure why you are experiencing that but I can’t but suspect a conflict somewhere along the line.
Were you able to complete our standard troubleshooting steps, as requested? If not, are you comfortable with opening your browser’s dev tools and looking in the console for any errors that might appear while viewing the Appearance → Widgets screen (with the problematic ‘saved’ button in front of you)?

MemberHi Piotr,
Just to confirm, did you download and setup the .po file or the .mo file? It is the second of those that WordPress actually understands.
The Events Calendar itself also ships with translations, including a Polish translation and – just as with Events Calendar PRO – you can grab the latest files from translations.theeventscalendar.com.
One other thing to bear in mind is that, following recent updates, some pieces of text may not yet have been translated or may be in need of an update, in which case you are welcome to help out and submit new translations 🙂
Does that help?

MemberAwesome, I’m glad that helped 🙂
I’m going to close this topic for the time being – but we’ll do our best to re-open and post an update as we progress the substantive fix.
Thanks again!
Barry
MemberGlad you were able to find the conflict 🙂
I think the best course of action then is probably to turn off the other plugin (unless you need it elsewhere on your site) – and hopefully there will then be no further issues.
Barry
MemberGlad you found what you were looking for with our settings 🙂
I’ll go ahead and close this topic, but of course please don’t hesitate to create new topics if we can help with any other issues in the future.
Thanks again!

MemberHi Valentina,
I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough ride so far.
It looks like you’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting work with no result, so I’d like to suggest a slightly different angle.
Can you create a new WordPress site for testing purposes in a subdirectory (if your hosting account provides CPanel access this is often a simple task taking just a few minutes). Start on that site and install nothing initially except for the latest releases of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO.
Next, create a few test events. At this point, do you still hit the problems with 404s? If you do, can you link me to the test site so I can take another look?
Thanks!
