MemberHi Suleyka,
Using CPanel’s file manager is certainly one approach.
The translations used by The Events Calendar can be found in the plugin’s lang directory, so replacing the existing translation with the new one should be done within this directory:
wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang/
Does that help?

MemberHi Cindy,
It looks like you are using Filter Bar which does add a bit of a twist on things. The basic idea behind the advice you noted is that you can craft links to specific categories, such as:
example.com/events/category/some-category
Users following that link, which you might position in the main navigation menu, will then only see events in that category.
However, though this is generally a great and easy way to do things, nothing stops visitors from navigating to a different category or from seeing all categories – some more extensive customizations would be needed to impose real “locks”.
If as you seem to be doing you are using Filter Bar then, again – without any customizations to stop them from doing so, it is certainly easy for visitors to de-select that category.
All in all, the advice provided is a straightforward and practical way to split what is truly a single calendar into what appear to be separate calendars, however if a greater degree of separation is needed this approach may not be ideal.
I hope that clarifies things 🙂

MemberHi Allison,
You’re right that the kind of automated syndication and import of events you describe in your first point is not an existing feature (remember, though, you can submit and up-vote features on our UserVoice page).
We are working on an iCal importer, however it is not ready for public consumption just yet – but definitely monitor our blog for further news on that front 🙂

MemberHi Sheila,
I’m sorry first of all to hear that someone was unable to view the calendar on their phone.
Like you I find that everything works as expected when testing with emulators for a number of different Android devices – but I also find it works nicely on a real Android device.
Of course, that’s not a guarantee that it will work on all Androids but it’s certainly encouraging. Is there any more information you can share to help us, here?
- Can you provide more information on what’s missing – is it all of the event content, is it just the events that should appear below the calendar grid, etc?
- What Android device specifically are you/is this person using when they see the problem?
- What version of Android are they using – are they using the default browser or something else to view the site?
- Are you or have you been able to test to see if the problem is related to your theme, by switching temporarily to a different default theme?
I realize if you don’t yourself have the ability to replicate this that could be tricky information to collect – but I wanted to list some of the additional information we’d need to take this report forward, given we can’t see it (even with a real device).
Barry
MemberMy pleasure 🙂

MemberThank you! I’ve uploaded that file 🙂

MemberHi Valentina,
It wasn’t that I misunderstood you (re Genesis), more that I was “thinking aloud” about possible causes and wanted to highlight and make it clear that it wasn’t looking like a compatibility problem with Genesis itself – mostly for the benefit of other users scanning this topic in the future 🙂
I will have to take some time before getting back to you with the results I got from testing.
In the meanwhile, please, if anything else comes to mind do let me know.Definitely – we’ll keep this topic open for the time being (if a few weeks do pass without an update and we close it, please simply create a new topic if needed).
Thanks again, and I hope you find the cause.
Barry
MemberFantastic – glad that’s working 🙂

MemberMy mistake: apologies for the confusion – we’re still getting used to the new system.
Right at this time you won’t have the ability to upload, unfortunately. Rather than update each string individually, though, if you could upload your translation to your WordPress site, or to a service like Dropbox, and share the link here I’ll be glad to process it on your behalf 🙂
Barry
MemberFor me, it translates as Anstehende Veranstaltungen (if I set my sight to operate in German) and the key string in question here is this one:
Upcoming %s
Currently translated to:
Anstehende %s
Which you can see if you look here. Are you positive you downloaded the correct file (ie, .mo format and not .po format)?
