French half translated

Hi, I just read another discussion about having half translated content, and I am having the same issue with the french translation. I get UPCOMING ÉVÉNEMENTS, and ÉVÉNEMENTS FROM… I read the other discussion about downloading the new .mo and .po files on the http://translations.theeventscalendar.com so i did but I don’t know where to upload them. In my wordpress or in my Cpanel file manager?

Hi Suleyka,

Using CPanel’s file manager is certainly one approach.

The translations used by The Events Calendar can be found in the plugin’s lang directory, so replacing the existing translation with the new one should be done within this directory:

wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang/

I’m having the same issue. Is there an email I could use about this instead of this forum?

I’m trying to either have it fully translated on the French side, which it’s not as it is now. Or just display it everywhere in English (, but I’m having issues on the French side, where it’s half translated.

We generally deliver support over the forums – I would ask though that you create a new topic of your own if you’re having difficulties 🙂

If the reason you want to communicate by email is to share translation files, etc, please remember that:

• You can edit and update translations directly over here
• If you need to share a file, please just upload it to your WordPress site or to a service such as Dropbox and then share the URL here

I deleted the old .mo and .po files and replaced them with the new ones, and now the calendar is only appearing in english….I’m at a loss now…

Hi Suleyka,

Sorry for the further inconvenience. Thinking of the .mo file in particular, if you rename it to:

the-events-calendar-fr_FR.mo

Does that resolve the problem?
