MemberHmm, that’s odd. Would you be able to share your system information in case that provides any insights?
Could you also (temporarily) enable WP_DEBUG and let me know when you have done so, so that I can quickly test things at that point?
Barry
MemberHi Bob,
I was able to access those views on the frontend – but I didn’t want to include the actual URL in a public reply since you don’t seem to have referred to it publicly, either.
Also, though we appreciate you sharing your credentials, our current policy is not to log into customers’ admin environments (which is why Geoff was seeking a public URL for one of your single events in a previous reply).
In any case, try going to your.domain/calendar/week/ and you’ll see what I mean (there was no problem clicking through to individual events, either). Would you be able to follow up on my other points, re:
- Your system information
- Which views are enabled
- If you can try re-enabling the normal search bar (rather than the “classic header”)
- If you can create and replicate the issue in a clean testing environment
Thanks!
Barry
MemberOK, so the issue isn’t so much that users are returning to the same month and re-importing the same data again (though, if I try that whether on your site or our demo site iCalendar seems intelligent enough not re-import the same events) but that users are subscribing and are then returning to do a further manual import?
Thanks for clarifying!

MemberHi Keira,
We’re happy to help – but we do try hard to stick to one specific problem per topic.
In this case the original problem – specific pieces of information missing from single event pages – was caused by some custom templates and now seems to have been resolved, which is awesome.
These new issues most likely have a different cause, so here’s what I would suggest:
- Like the original problem, it’s very likely these further issues are also related to customization work or else are the result of a plugin/theme conflict
- With that in mind, please try our standard troubleshooting steps (I can appreciate you may be reluctant to do this on a live site, but perhaps your developer can do this on a staging/testing site?)
- If that doesn’t allow you to identify the source of the problem please don’t hesitate to let us know and summarize what you tried – but it would be best to create a new topic for this 🙂
I will now close this topic – but, again, please don’t hesitate to follow up in a new topic for these further issues.
Thanks!

MemberHi Bob,
Wow – it’s certainly been problematic tracking the source of this one down! Geoff asked me to take a quick look just to get a fresh pair of eyes on the problem and I do indeed have some ideas and further questions 🙂
System information
Previously you shared your system information however it looks as if it was cut-off, so I was unable to garner as much information as I would have liked. Was there a copy+paste issue there? If my next suggestions don’t help, can you try and again and copy all of the system information?
Available views
I can access week view, day view and single events: however not everything is as I would expect, there.
You seem to have disabled the event search bar (via the Events → Settings → Display screen) which is fine yet, oddly, there is no view selector (to switch between week, day, month view etc) – which I would normally expect.
- Can you try re-enabling the search bar via that same admin screen?
- Can you let me know which views are actually enabled via the same screen (normally I could obtain this from your system info, but as above it seems to be missing)?
Theme
I don’t think it relates directly to this specific issue, but I’m concerned that – at least on initial appearances – your theme doesn’t appear to support things like a body_class() call which is often needed for smooth operation.
Now and again we’ve found that this sort of thing can be a sign of various other standard practices being missed, too.
Testing
Are you able to create a test site in a subdirectory and replicate this problem there, using only a default theme and our plugins?
If you give that a try and it works, could you begin adding the same theme and all of the same plugins and see if the problem is triggered at that point? I appreciate you have already done something similar but this approach can sometimes give us a fresh perspective on things.
Thanks!

MemberHi @soulofyoga,
I’m sorry you’ve hit up against difficulties.
When possible, please include your system information when creating new topics – it’s not always useful but sometimes it gives us a quick insight into your problem and let’s us help you more quickly 🙂
In this case, it looks like week view is not actually activated … can you confirm if that might be the case by visiting the Events → Settings → Display screen?

MemberHi @hikeitbaby,
I’m really sorry for the continued frustration.
We want to help you – but we do depend on your cooperation to make that happen.
Very recently you reached out to us and Josh provided a number of action points to help us progress this further – can you confirm if you were able to move ahead with any of these?
From that previous topic:
- Try updating to the latest versions of our plugins. There have been some performance updates with the latest maintenance release that could potentially help.
- Additionally, do you currently have any caching set up on your site? I see you’re not currently using the calendar view however, with the latest version of our plugin we do have built-in caching for that view which could help.
- Finally, we would to get a database dump of the events on your site. We could use it to test and see where the issues are occurring when scaling.
It sounds like you may have downgraded, instead of upgrading. What versions did you downgrade to? Would you consider upgrading now (especially if you found the downgrade made no particular difference)?
I’d also love to know if you were able to set up caching and if you could describe the caching setup you put in place, but most critically we would really love to get a copy of your database to give us more insight into what you’re facing.
Are you able to facilitate that? Please do let us know if anything is unclear or you have further questions before proceeding.

MemberHi @wfsec28,
I’m sorry for the continued difficulties – but I’ll check in on the status of that bug.
Can I ask if (like in the other topic you linked to) the problem happens in iPhones, or are you finding generally this happens no matter which calendar application you import into?
Barry
MemberHi Anita,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced difficulties.
In the first instance, can I ask you to visit WordPress’s General Settings screen and confirm that your local timezone is configured appropriately?

MemberHi Bill,
I would struggle to help you formulate a question to your local ISP as I really doubt that’s at the heart of the issue.
I do think our standard conflict testing steps are worth trying, however, though I appreciate you would be reluctant to do this on a live site. Perhaps you have a test/staging site you could use?
Similarly, I would shy away from posing a question to W3TC until you’ve completed those steps. If they indicate that the problem is with W3TC then we can re-eavaluate at that point, but right now we just don’t know.
Barry
MemberThanks for sharing – I’ll be sure to note that in the bug report 🙂

MemberHi!
As far as I know there aren’t any customisations…I really don’t know what it could b
So it looks to me like there are at least a few event-related customizations within your child theme (“Unicorn Child”) – one is simply a stylesheet but there are several template overrides in place by the looks of things, too.
If you weren’t aware of these might they have shipped complete with the theme, or could it be you hired a developer/designer to do some work? It could be worth making contact if so.
Alternatively, or additionally, if you are comfortable with this idea you could locate:
wp-content/themes/Unicorn_child/tribe-events/
Rename this directory to something like:
wp-content/themes/Unicorn_child/disable-tribe-events/
This simply prevents those customizations from loading and restoring the original name will enable them again: if you find this resolves the problem, that’s a strong indicator the issue lies within those custom modifications.
Does that help?
Barry
