ParticipantSince the last update when you go to individual events in our calendar, the venue and map is missing from the bottom and the tool bar at the top has disappeared, see this example – http://www.welovebrighton.com/event/matt-smith-solo-show-trouble-with-history/2015-07-24/
Any ideas?

MemberHi Keira,
I’m sorry you’ve hit up against some difficulties.
That’s an odd problem and not one we’re seeing wide-ranging reports of following the recent releases. Is it possible it might relate to any customizations you’ve made targeting our views?

Member… Do also note that it looks as if a number of your plugins are now out of date, for instance Filter Bar appears not to have been updated (generally its best – and safest – to keep all plugins in sync, so if our core plugin The Events Calendar has a version number like 3.11.x then all linked plugins ought to be 3.11.x, too) 🙂

ParticipantHi,
Ok thanks, the filter bar is currently the only plug-in thats out of date because our users don’t really use it so we’re thinking of not renewing it. Could it really just be because the filter bar is out of date?
Thanks.

MemberProbably not, it was more of a friendly note than a suggestion that that could be the problem (but you could of course try deactivating it, temporarily, and see if that makes a difference).
To come back to my previous question, have you made any customizations and have you tried temporarily removing these? Or could you even run through our complete troubleshooting steps?

ParticipantAs far as I know there aren’t any customisations…I really don’t know what it could be!
We’ve also got an ongoing problem with Community Events where when I edit a pending event (maybe the time was wrong or something) and then publish it the changes disappear so I do it again and when I press update they stick…

MemberHi!
As far as I know there aren’t any customisations…I really don’t know what it could b
So it looks to me like there are at least a few event-related customizations within your child theme (“Unicorn Child”) – one is simply a stylesheet but there are several template overrides in place by the looks of things, too.
If you weren’t aware of these might they have shipped complete with the theme, or could it be you hired a developer/designer to do some work? It could be worth making contact if so.
Alternatively, or additionally, if you are comfortable with this idea you could locate:
wp-content/themes/Unicorn_child/tribe-events/
Rename this directory to something like:
wp-content/themes/Unicorn_child/disable-tribe-events/
This simply prevents those customizations from loading and restoring the original name will enable them again: if you find this resolves the problem, that’s a strong indicator the issue lies within those custom modifications.
Does that help?

ParticipantHi,
So i’ve spoken to our developer and it turns out there was custom code so he has renamed the tribe-events folder to something obscure and it’s fixed everything that was a problem before. However it seems to have flagged up a new problem in that when you go to the page view for a single event all start times now say 12am. In the month and day view the times are right and if you go to edit the event the time is right in the backend… any ideas?
Thanks.

ParticipantI’ve just tried putting a few events in and it’s really strange, they are showing other random times in the single event view, for instance this event is supposed to be at 3pm – http://www.welovebrighton.com/event/hetty-feather/2015-07-29/

ParticipantAlso that event is a recurring event that ends on the 2nd August but when you hover over ‘Recurring Event’ the date shows the 8th Feb!

MemberHi Keira,
We’re happy to help – but we do try hard to stick to one specific problem per topic.
In this case the original problem – specific pieces of information missing from single event pages – was caused by some custom templates and now seems to have been resolved, which is awesome.
These new issues most likely have a different cause, so here’s what I would suggest:
- Like the original problem, it’s very likely these further issues are also related to customization work or else are the result of a plugin/theme conflict
- With that in mind, please try our standard troubleshooting steps (I can appreciate you may be reluctant to do this on a live site, but perhaps your developer can do this on a staging/testing site?)
- If that doesn’t allow you to identify the source of the problem please don’t hesitate to let us know and summarize what you tried – but it would be best to create a new topic for this 🙂
I will now close this topic – but, again, please don’t hesitate to follow up in a new topic for these further issues.
Thanks!
