Thanks for flagging this, we’re very sorry for any disruption it has caused.

We’re aware of the bug already however and so I have attached this conversation to the relevant report: as soon as we have news on a fix, we’ll drop an update in here.

Thanks so much for your patience while we look into this πŸ™‚

Hi Drew: closing this one out (looks like you inadvertently posted twice). We’ll keep the conversation going over here πŸ™‚

Thanks for your patience so far – it looks like a lot of ground has been covered.

If necessary, you can update your plugins manually – the latest versions are available here – however it might be that you find you can update automatically so long as you do so from the network-level admin screens (important, because you appear to be running our plugins within a multisite network).

Let me know if that helps: I definitely recommend updating all your plugins as we shipped a few more updates today and a fix for a problem with Event Aggregator imports was included in those.

Can you let me know if you need more help with the update and/or confirm if updating everything resolves the problem?

    Thanks!

Much as we wish this sort of thing didn’t happen, occasionally there can be regressions and a bug we solved previously may resurrect itself.

We of course understand the importance of fixing this and we’ll update this thread in due course.

In relation to Google Calendar imports, I think that – similarly to the situation with eventbrite.com – you need to use a different URL.

    calendar.google.com/calendar/b/2/r?tab=mc&pli=1

URLs like the one you shared above are what we humans use πŸ˜‰ … but the list of events you see if you access it are different for different users, so they actually aren’t very useful if you want to pull data into another application (Event Aggregator included).

To discover the actual URL you need, follow these steps:

    • Log in to Google Calendar (the above link is probably a good starting point)
    • You will see a list of calendars – typically on the left hand side of the page
    • Hover over the one you are interested in, click on the options link then Settings and Sharing
    • Scroll down until you find either the public or secret address in iCal format (both will work)
    • Copy and paste the URL: this is what you need to supply to Event Aggregator

    I hope that helps πŸ™‚

    Hi Brenda,

Unfortunately to share files you need to post directly on the help desk. If you reply by email and attach files that way we are unable to receive them.

Focusing on Eventbrite initially, I see in our logs several attempts to import from https://www.eventbrite.com/myevents/” … I don’t believe this is a valid event URL, however. It’s important to note at this point that if you are using Event Aggregator (rather than Eventbrite Tickets) – which you are – you have to specify specific event URLs, for example:

    http://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-international-bubble-flashmob-tickets-37077259080

If you would like to import events from your own eventbrite.com account, without manually discovering and entering the URLs, you will need Eventbrite Tickets (and let me know if you’d like to do a license swap).

Does that help at all, in relation to the Eventbrite portion of the problem?

That’s strange, Bart, especially if things were working previously.

Can you think of any events that took place immediately prior to this set of problems emerging — for example, did you update any plugins or add a new theme, or anything of that order?

    theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts

When you opened this topic you noted that you had already tried these steps, but I want to revisit this. If you deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar and also switch to a default, unmodified theme and then flush permalinks, does the main events page begin to work as expected? (You may prefer to conduct this sort of testing on a staging site.)

Additionally, are you using a multi-language plugin – which one if so (and can you share your system information)?

    Thanks!

    Hi @themal,

Thanks for your patience so far.

I think I see the disconnect, which is that you are expecting the required field logic you added to work in the frontend edit screens for organizers and venues whereas it is designed only to function in the context of the event editor.

I realize this may not be ideal, and will log a ticket to make things a little more flexible (and will also update the knowledgebase article to make the limits of this approach a little clearer).

Our apologies for any confusion that’s been caused.

I’m sorry for the delays in responding so far, Minda. I’d love to pick this up and help work towards a solution, but I’m finding the credentials you provided for the test site do not work. Can you confirm they are still accurate and update them if necessary?

    Thanks!

Thanks for your patience so far. To help us progress our investigation it would be fantastic if you could enable SCRIPT_DEBUG (this involves a minor adjustment to your wp-config.php file):

    codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress

Once that is in place, please do let us know (I realize you will be unavailable for a period of time, no rush – we’re following up with others and will update you if we figure things out before then) πŸ™‚

    Hi there, @homeb1950aol.com πŸ™‚

Sorry for any confusion! Yes, I’m sure that can be done — we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction if we can, but please note custom development tasks like this one largely need to be driven forward by you.

Line 101 displays the featured image and line 106 displays Upcoming Events. There is no code between that displays custom fields.

By copying that template (single-venue.php) to your theme – instructions on doing this and where to put the copy, which it sounds like you’ve already followed, can be found here – you can add some additional code to help with this, something like:

    <a href="#" class="popmake-567"><?php echo esc_html( get_post_meta( $venue_id, '_field_name', true ); ?></a>

I’m unsure of the actual field name you used for the custom field, so you would need to adjust that. Does that help at all?
