    Hi Dave,

Regarding the license key notices: this is, essentially, a bug. You are using a business license within a multisite network (which is actually fine given the total number of sites you’ve deployed the plugin on) however it is of course creating some unnecessary noise via those notices.

We’re working on a fix for this, however in the interim please know that that particular issue will have no operational impact on your site.

All our posts are showing up in ‘events’ within the WP admin (screenshot); they appear in posts as well, which is where we expect them.

This is a little more worrisome … did you have a chance to test for conflicts (which can be done on a testing or staging site rather than your live/production site) as Shelby suggested?

If we had to delete and re-install, how do we ‘save’ our event settings data; venues, organizers, actual event posts, etc.

There’s no perfect answer to this.

    • If you literally mean deleting and then reinstalling the plugins without making any other changes, then there’s no further work to be done: the event data will have remained in the database
    • If you are planning on wiping and rebuilding the entire site/entire multisite network, then making a backup of the database is of course a sensible precaution — but you could possibly also lever WordPress’s own import/export tools to push out and pull back in event, venue and organizer data specifically

    Does that help at all?

    Hi Chris,

    regression testing anyone? #sigh

Can you clarify — are you still experiencing the same issues as before?

Awesome, glad to hear you’re all sorted with this one 🙂

I’ll go ahead and close out this topic — but of course if you hit any other issues please don’t hesitate to open a new topic and one of the team will be only too happy to assist!

OK, in that case let’s simply leave this open for a while longer 🙂

That is definitely a strange situation and I can’t think of anything on our side that would result in such sporadic behaviour.

I’ve tried deactivating everything, resetting to 2017 WP theme, deleting the keys from the site and re-adding them, however I am not able to get the shortcodes to work properly.

You were already pretty clear about this, but I just want to revisit quickly: did you also deactivate all other plugins? Was it possible you continued to use Site Origin Page Builder through this process?

    Hi Cim,

    Yes – I don’t see why not.

You could activate it (the SMTP plugin) and supply credentials for a mailbox under your control then run a test purchase for one of the tickets, then deactivate afterwards.

Awesome, thanks Bobbi (also, I linked this forum topic to the proposal on our internal issue tracker, so we should be able to post an update in here once relevant changes have been made).

    Thanks again!

    Hi all!

We receive large number of feature requests, this is just one of them. At this point in time, work on introducing support for past events (in the context of our shortcodes) has not begun and is not currently scheduled – simply put, it remains a proposal.

Also I would like to ask how it stands. How many voices must it be for you to start it?

The number of votes can certainly help us to gauge demand, but is not the only thing we need to consider. We’re not ignoring you by any means, we’re simply balancing this with other project needs. As Hunter noted in the other post you referenced, we’ll be sure to communicate the introduction of any new functionality like this via our blog and of course via the changelog.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

It looks like you are using a staging site … is there an event URL containing a free ticket so I could make a test purchase and see what is returned to my mailbox?

That might provide us with a few insights (it doesn’t look like there is anything wrong with your email template override, best I can tell).

    Thanks!

    Hi Jason,

I took a look at some of the URLs you referenced however they either redirect elsewhere or lead to a 404 Not Found page: have you removed them/are you still interested in following this through?

If so, I would love to identify any critical differences between your local dev environment and the production site. For our purposes here, the presence or absence of license keys should make no difference.

One reason a [tribe_events] shortcode might produce no output is if it is used within an existing events page (or if WordPress thinks it is an event archive – perhaps due to the page slug matching the current single or archive event slug) or if the shortcode already executed earlier in the request.

Knowing that, does that bring us any closer to an explanation for the problem?

    Hi!

Thanks for contacting us — though I’m sorry to hear you’ve hit up against some difficulties.

I’m not sure that this is the result of our most recent update, however. Have you recently added any security plugins – or changed settings such as to serve the admin environment over HTTPS while the frontend still defaults to HTTP – or anything else along those lines?

When you click on the next or previous month links, we send a request by ajax (in essence, that means we don’t instantly reload the entire page) to fetch whichever month you are interested in. In this case, your configuration means it is using an HTTPS URL for this purpose even though the site itself is served via HTTP. That’s problematic, unless you add support for cross origin requests.

Essentially the same problem can be seen with some of the fonts you (or your theme) are trying to use:

Access to Font at ‘https://your.site/fonts/Elusive-Icons.woff’ from origin ‘http://your.site’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://your.site’ is therefore not allowed access.

Does that help at all? If you’re wholly unfamiliar with some of the terms I’m talking about it may be worth seeking assistance from your web host and/or switching to HTTPS everywhere – frontend and back.

    Hi Rob,

    Great question!

If you visit the attendee screen for one of the events, and select those attendees you wish to relocate, you will find a Move option in the bulk actions dropdown. This can be used to reassign attendees to a different ticket type belonging to a different event.

With that done, you could remove the event you don’t need and perform any stock adjustments that might be needed with regards to whatever remains in place.

    Might that work here?

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for contacting us and I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced problems.

First off, though, I want to emphasize that we aim to stick to a policy of one forum topic per problem – this helps us process the different issues as quickly as possible while minimizing confusion. However, let’s at least kick things off by running through some of the items you listed.

Once number of tickets available is entered for the a series, it only displays the number of tickets available for the first event in that series

A number of the problems you cited seem to relate to the use of tickets with recurring events: this is not something we currently support. It’s certainly possible to attach tickets to a recurring event – but it means that each ticket you add is shared across every instance in the series … for some users that actually makes sense and for others it does not — either way, though, it isn’t officially supported at the present time.

Dates do not seem to be working correctly for recurring events – we are seeing “Event on unspecified date” for recurring events

This is, unfortunately, a current and known bug. I’ll attach this forum topic to the corresponding bug report on our internal tracker and that way we can update you once a fix is released.

Can an email be automatically sent to the organisers email address (as well as the admin team’s) when a booking is taken?

That isn’t a default behaviour but is certainly possible as via some light custom development work. It could also make for a great feature request 🙂

Can there be the option to ask a question per booking, as well as per attendee. This would be useful if, for example, you’re asking for dietary or access requirements.

I can definitely see the value in that though, again, it isn’t part of the current feature set and so a new feature request (or else up-voting any suitable existing requests) would probably be the best way to go here.

When you search for a venue (e.g. Event Venue) events do not show in date order, they show in the order that they were uploaded

In this scenario, are you performing a regular WordPress search? What sort of date order would you want to see here (given that venues themselves are not directly associated with any dates) – would it be ordering by the date of the first event attached to each venue?

Global stock doesn’t display anywhere – e.g. if there are 15 tickets total available for an event with multiple ticket types, it looks like there are 30 tickets in total available

There’s not quite enough detail here for me to understand the problem, but if you could create a new forum topic for this we can explore it in more depth.

Can WooCommerce tickets set up through the events platform be automatically coded to the ‘Event Tickets’ category?

Yes, that’s entirely possible — and used to be the default behaviour but was changed owing to the number of users who disliked this.

Perhaps the advice in this topic would help?

    Hi!

I just wanted to drop by and add a little more clarity in case it helps you or other users reading through this topic.

You can indeed import from one calendar to another (via Event Aggregator) and you don’t necessarily need to wait on new features rolling out to do so. As an example, if you setup an iCalendar import and use a source URL like this one (which I grabbed from our demo site):

    http://wpshindig.com/events/?ical=1

You can effectively pull in event data and tell Event Aggregator to continually check on and pull in any new events on a daily or weekly basis (or some other time interval).

I may wait for the fix if it is coming.

I do want to be clear that this is not a fix, as such, as there was no bug to address here — rather it’s a completely new feature that will allow Event Aggregator license holders to import from other sites running The Events Calendar with a richness and level of detail that isn’t currently possible when using iCal-based imports.

In any case, as Hunter noted we’ll do our best to drop an update in here once that is available 🙂
