ParticipantAs of recently, the shortcodes for my site are no longer working.
They work for my local machine, despite the keys not being allowed for it. I’ve gone and deactivated the plugins on my local environment, however they still won’t show up on the development server.
I’ve tried deactivating everything, resetting to 2017 WP theme, deleting the keys from the site and re-adding them, however I am not able to get the shortcodes to work properly.
I build them into a plugin, but I also tried using them directly in the WYSIWYG editor. Any ideas?

MemberHi Jason
I’m sorry this is happening. Can you confirm that you’ve also deactivated all other plugins? Also Testing for Conflicts suggests clearing out the cache.
Let me know what results you’ve had with either of those as well.
Thanks,
Courtney 🙂March 30, 2017 at 1:56 pm #1262278Jason Frey
ParticipantHi there,
Yes, I’ve turned off all plugins, reset the Theme to WP 17 theme, WP 16 theme and WP 15 theme.
I cleared the server cache, and reset, readded the license keys.

MemberHi Jason
Can you send me the shortcodes that you are using with links to the pages that they appear on?
I’d like to take a closer look.
Thanks,
Courtney 🙂March 31, 2017 at 9:41 am #1262706Jason Frey

MemberHello Jason
Sorry for our delay. We answer forum requests throughout the weekdays.
I’ve asked a few others on the team to also review what is happening on your site. We are stumped as we can’t see the shortcode even using Chrome inspector. Could you provide us with a screencast or a few screenshots of how you are adding the code into the links that you provided> .
I like Jing for a free tool to create screenshots/screencasts.
We’d like to get this worked out soon.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi,
Since I am using a shortcode, it wouldn’t show up in the HTML. I said that it shows up if I deactivate the plugin.
Here’s where I am adding the shortcode within the WYSIWYG editor.

MemberThanks Jason
Have you tested the shortcode outside of Siteorigin within your site? Can you determine if a shortcode works on a post/page/widget area while using a default WordPress theme?
Are there any settings in Siteorigin that need to be activated for it to integrate with Custom Post Types, such as “Events”?
I really hope we find this solution soon.
Thanks,
Courtney 🙂April 4, 2017 at 7:14 am #1264065Jason Frey

MemberHi Jason,
I took a look at some of the URLs you referenced however they either redirect elsewhere or lead to a 404 Not Found page: have you removed them/are you still interested in following this through?
If so, I would love to identify any critical differences between your local dev environment and the production site. For our purposes here, the presence or absence of license keys should make no difference.
One reason a [tribe_events] shortcode might produce no output is if it is used within an existing events page (or if WordPress thinks it is an event archive – perhaps due to the page slug matching the current single or archive event slug) or if the shortcode already executed earlier in the request.
Knowing that, does that bring us any closer to an explanation for the problem?

ParticipantI reuploaded my database backup, and now it works. I’m afraid I don’t know what the issue could be, and would have to have this keep happening.

MemberThat is definitely a strange situation and I can’t think of anything on our side that would result in such sporadic behaviour.
I’ve tried deactivating everything, resetting to 2017 WP theme, deleting the keys from the site and re-adding them, however I am not able to get the shortcodes to work properly.
You were already pretty clear about this, but I just want to revisit quickly: did you also deactivate all other plugins? Was it possible you continued to use Site Origin Page Builder through this process?

ParticipantI’ve turned off everything except Event Calendar and Event Calendar PRO.
