KeymasterHello Justin,
That makes absolute sense and thank you for your time to create such a detailed explanation! Much appreciated!
The additional fields and the filters in Filter Bar should indeed work like how you would like to.
I have created a screen recording to show you how I achieved it. You can take a look at it here:
And I forgot to include how the filter bar is set, that one is here:
I hope this helps, let me know.
Cheers,

KeymasterHello Ken,
Thanks for your answer.
Meanwhile we have tested this functionality as well in several ways and all worked fine.
1) Plugin network activated. Admin user on a subsite was able to run an import and edit imported events.
2) Plugin activated on a sub-site. Sub-site admin was able to run an import and edit imported events.
If EA is activated on some sub-sites only then the super admin needs to add the EA key on those sites to enable imports for them.
If it is still not working, then could you do a screen recording showing the issue? Some steps I would recommend including is:
- showing that TEC is not network activated
- activating TEC on a subsite
- adding EA license key on a subsite (wait for green success message, then click save)
- running an import as site admin on subsite
- editing an event as site admin on subsite
Would this be possible?
Thanks,

KeymasterHi Andrew,
Sorry about the confusion. Let me try to clear this up for you.
Although we are not providing support for Outlook related questions 🙂 when creating an event in outlook you can assign categories to it like this:
- in the Outlook application: https://cloudup.com/cP1BybykIz8
- on the web interface: https://cloudup.com/ckte7RB4QnK
When importing the feed, if the feed contains the category data, then the category will also be imported and automatically assigned to the event.
When importing with Event Aggregator, then you can assign one additional category to the event like this: https://cloudup.com/cHXMGNpgi-4
Note, this category needs to be created before the import is set up.
Does this help?

KeymasterHi Mary,
If you went through the conflict testing based on our guide, and it still doesn’t work when:
- only calendar plugins are active
- with your theme
then I don’t have any more ideas you could test. It looks like there is something in your theme that is causing this.
I would be happy to take a further look into that. For this could you please zip up your wp-contents/themes folder and share it with me through a cloud service? I’ll see what I can find.
Thanks and cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterIt would be helpful if you could get some error logs from your hosting provider. Might contain some information we can work with.
Also, we tested this event without issues:
https://www.oeuvredesretraites.fr/evenement/23-au-28-juillet-2018-retraite-femmes-de-st-ignace-initialement-prevue-a-la-bergerie-mais-deplacee-a-nd-de-myans/Do you have a specific event / ticket that has this issue a lot? Can you share that?
A.

KeymasterHi tixiego,
I’m sorry to hear that our plugin didn’t make it for you.
I have processed your refund request, you should see the amount back in your account in a couple of days. I would appreciate it if you could let me know when that happens.
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterHi Robert,
Thanks for reaching out!
In case you were importing from Facebook, then I’m afraid I don’t have good news. Please read this article for further details: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/
In case you are importing from another source, then please:
- share with me the URL you are importing from
- share a screenshot of how the import is set up if it is a scheduled import
Cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHello Justin,
If you are importing from Facebook I don’t have good news.
You probably have heard about the things around Facebook in the last couple of weeks. They have changed how their API works (this is how external sources like Event Aggregator can, could access events) and we are no longer able to fetch almost any events.
Please read this article for further details on the topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/
Let me know if you have any further questions.

KeymasterHi utahfast,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I’m sorry to hear about this issue. I checked your site and actually I don’t see anything on a PC either.
As a start I’d like you to do two things.
Please share your system information with me.
Please go through our conflict testing guide and see if that brings anything to the surface.
Let me know what you find.

KeymasterHi ciaranobriendonegaletb.ie,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m happy to help you with this one.
Can you please share a URL with me where you would like to show the current month?
A screenshot with same markings would also be helpful.
Probably we will be able to fix this with a template override.

KeymasterHi Steve,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry to hear about this issue with ACF.
I just installed ACF 4.4.12 on my test site and I don’t have any errors in the console. Also the edit post and edit event pages are loading as they should.
I’m thinking another plugin, or maybe the theme you’re using has something to do with this.
Could you do the following test: switch to a default theme like twentysixteen, deactivate all plugins except for TEC and ACF and check what that does?
If that works, then activate your theme.
If that still works then start activating the plugins one by one and check at every step how that goes. (Might be one of the ACF add-ons.)
I understand if you are hesitant to do all this on your live site. In this case there are still 2 options. You can try the Health Check plugin which will allow you to run a conflict test like above without your visitors noticing anything.
Alternatively you can copy your site to a staging site and test it there.
Let me know what you find.

KeymasterHi johnbownas,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. I will do my best to help you solve this and get your site working again.
I would like to request some more information about the case, mostly about your site:
What theme are you using?
What are the other plugins you are using?
How many posts and events do you have?
I see you are importing from 600+ pages. Wow! How often do the imports run? Decreasing the frequency of the imports can also ease up a bit on the needed resources.
Do you have recurring events? A few or a lot?
What content and how much do you have on your home page that can make it slow?
Do you maybe have a backup (files and database) of your site that you could share with us?
Thanks,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHi Kelsey,
We are unfortunately unable to provide support through our Pre-Sales forum channel, but you can head over to The Events Calendar WordPress.org support forums for assistance and answers.
If you have a PRO license, you can log into your account and get assistance through the PRO forums. If you need to reset your password, you can do so here. This will send an email to the account used when you initially registered for the support forums.
As for your question, even without search you will see the ‘no results found’ message. This is actually interesting so I’m going to note this down and we might change it in the future.
Thanks and have a good day!

KeymasterHi Justin,
Thanks for reaching out! Let me try to help you with this one.
So, I did some testing based on your post and the sample site you shared. This is what I did and what I got:
Under Events > Settings > Additional Fields tab I created a checkbox field with the distances: https://cloudup.com/cAnxYW1KYKb
On the event page this gives me the checkboxes for the different distances, so you can select more: https://cloudup.com/c395PKFMoL2
Under Events > Settings > Filters tab I added ‘Swimming’ to the filter bar and set the type to be checkboxes: https://cloudup.com/cA-63A8ETqD
On the front-end this gives me the checkboxes in the filterbar: https://cloudup.com/cXy7U8bMrwv
Is this what you would like to achieve?
Cheers,

KeymasterHi brandco,
Thanks for reaching out! Let me try to help you with this one.
How is The Events Calendar activated on the site? Is it network activated or each site owner has to activate it separately?
Thanks,
