ParticipantHi,
I’m having an issue where there is a conflict with ACF and the Event Calendar. When I am in my backend admin—like when editing a page— the page gets javascript errors and doesn’t finish loading. So major sections of the backend are missing.
When ACF is on and TEC is off, things work.
When The Event Calendar is on and ACF is off, things work.
But if they’re both on… errors!
I included a console screenshot.
Wordpress and all plugins are updated.
Help!

KeymasterHi Steve,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry to hear about this issue with ACF.
I just installed ACF 4.4.12 on my test site and I don’t have any errors in the console. Also the edit post and edit event pages are loading as they should.
I’m thinking another plugin, or maybe the theme you’re using has something to do with this.
Could you do the following test: switch to a default theme like twentysixteen, deactivate all plugins except for TEC and ACF and check what that does?
If that works, then activate your theme.
If that still works then start activating the plugins one by one and check at every step how that goes. (Might be one of the ACF add-ons.)
I understand if you are hesitant to do all this on your live site. In this case there are still 2 options. You can try the Health Check plugin which will allow you to run a conflict test like above without your visitors noticing anything.
Alternatively you can copy your site to a staging site and test it there.
Let me know what you find.
Cheers,

ParticipantI’ve spun up a staging site for this. I will attempt the suggestions above and get back to you shortly.
Thanks.

That does the same thing as with my theme. It doesn’t work when both TEC and ACF are activated. All other plugins off, Most updated version of default 2017 theme is the theme now. Still the same problem: When I am in my backend admin—like when editing a page— the page gets javascript errors and doesn’t finish loading. So major sections of the backend are missing.
I also tried the Health Check plugin and nothing concerning was returned.
And, again, the conflict is between ACF and TEC. If one or the other is on, it works. If both are on, it does not.

KeymasterHi Steve,
Thank you for testing that.
I also checked some more variations like php 5.6 and 7.1, apache and nginx. And in every scenario they work well without any notices or errors in the console.
I will pull in an extra set of eyes to take a look at this and get a different perspective. Please hold on.
Thanks and cheers,

ParticipantWould it help if I provided login credentials to the staging site so you could see what’s happening? If so, let me know how I can send those privately. Would it just be a matter of replying with the “Set as private reply” checkbox activated?
