KeymasterHi Karly,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I believe it is generated by WordPress, and not our plugins. I will need some time to check and confirm that, including whether it can be influenced somehow. Thanks for your patience!

KeymasterHello again Ole,
When you set up a ticket, then in the ‘Advanced’ section you do have the option to set up start and end dates for when the ticket should be available for sale. Here’s a screenshot.
You need to set this up manually for each ticket.
If you want to do this automatically for every ticket you create, then will need custom development which is beyond our support coverage.
Does this do the trick?

KeymasterHi Ole,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your question.
The Other URL import functionality is intended for importing events from another website running The Events Calendar. It will likely not function with an Exchange calendar.
If you can get an ics / ical export from the exchange cal, then you should be able to import it to the website.
Does this clarify / help?
Cheers,

KeymasterHi Joe,
Thanks for hanging in there. Let me try to help you with your questions.
1) I have the map feature working OK, however, since I added new events it only shows the single event on load with MAP as the ‘view as’
Could you explain this in a bit more detail please? What are your trying to achieve? What actions are you taking? What do you see instead? Please give me as many details as possible.
2) In ‘month’ and ‘week’ view if there is an event that is recurring then on the sidebar widget “UPCOMING EVENTS” those events show up for each day. This is despite, “Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events” being checked. Is there a way to ensure that the recurring events do not all show up?
I tested this with the twentyfifteen theme and it worked fine for me. When I ticked the “Recurring event instances” box to show only the first, then it hides the recurrences.
Please switch to a default theme like twentyseventeen and check.
If that doesn’t help it would be great if you could go through our conflict testing guide. Let me know what you find.
3) On the side bar I have categories, however this is only related to blog post categories. Is there a way to get this to pull from EVENT categories (either by combining or just event categories themselves?)
This is not possible out of the box. It would require some custom development. A colleague of mine recommended a solution in this thread. Please check it out and let me know if that helps you get started.
4) Is there a way to make an entry that is without a date? For example I would like to also add businesses etc related to the events and have them appear on the map. Then people could clikc on a category of ‘restaurants’ and see restaurants.
No, unfortunately that is not an option.
What you possibly could do is add those with a date (sometime in the not to far future) and hide the dates with a snippet or with css for these.

KeymasterHello again Dennis,
Thanks for hanging in there. Let’s take a look at this.
An important note about the .po/.mo translation files is that if you leave them in your plugin folder, then they will be overwritten with a plugin update and all translations you did will be lost.
If you put your .po and .mo files under wp-content/languages/plugins then they will not be updated with a plugin update and these translation files will be loaded instead of the ones in the plugin folder (e.g. wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/languages). So the first step would be copying your translation files there.
The second note is updating the translation files. With almost every plugin update we make adjustments to the strings, remove some and add some new ones. For these to be reflected in your files under wp-content/languages/plugins you need to update those.
The easiest way to update with PoEdit is the following:
- Download the .po / .mo files to your computer
- Download the .pot file of the plugin which is in wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/languages
- Open the .po in PoEdit
- Go to Catalog > Update from POT file … and choose the .pot file you downloaded. This will make the necessary changes
- Review your translation whether they are still ok, then save
- Upload the .po and .mo to wp-content/languages/plugins
You should be all set.
Let me know if that does the trick, or if you need any further help with this.
Cheers,

KeymasterCould you share the ics file / feed with me? I can take a look and check what can be done.
Thanks,

KeymasterHello again,
Thanks for reporting back.
Sorry to hear about the timeout. When does the timeout happen? When you try to create an event and you save it? Or when you try to add a ticket / RSVP?
Can you share with me who is your hosting provider and what package you have there?
Which are the plugins that are causing you a conflict?
Could you potentially share with me a full database dump and the contents of your wp-content folder in a zip file? (Through a cloud service would be easiest.) I could then fire it up on my computer and run some tests.

KeymasterHi Kevin,
Thanks for getting back to me on that.
We have also received some other reports on this as well, we will look into this.
It would greatly help us if you could share your system information with us for the time being.
A workaround would be rolling back to TEC 4.4.19.
I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released.
For any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and we’ll help you out.
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterHallo Uwe,
Hmmm… that’s a bit strange.
I believe you shared the same screenshot twice.
Could you also share with me a screenshot of the attendees page?
Thanks,

KeymasterHi Nikolas,
Happy to hear that it worked out with creating a new ticket. I also hope this was a one-off and will not come back. We haven’t seen any other reports on this behavior so far so chances are good.
Please do a video and share. I’m curious to see. Might be that it is specific to a browser, so check in a different one as well, if you can.
Due to the size of the video you will not be able to upload it here. Also, email attachments don’t get transferred to the forums. You can share it through some cloud service like dropbox and share the link here in a private reply.
Cheers,

KeymasterHallo Uwe,
Wir sind ein bischen überlastet, aber es geht schon. 🙂 Danke für die Frage.
Froh zu hören das es mit WPFC geklappt hat. Cool.
Happy to hear that WP Fastest Cache works out.
