MemberAwesome to hear that did it, Youna! Glad to be of service – and thanks for your words of praise. We appreciate the support and will be here if you need anything else down the road. Just let us know.
I’m going to close out the thread here since it looks like we’re set. Cheers!

MemberHey Peter. I’m not sure whether this is a Facebook API issue or something we have control over, but let me get our lead dev Paul to take a look and see if he can identify what’s up with this. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience so far.
Rob
MemberHey Peter. Thanks for the note. This duplicate issue (and to a lesser extent the incorrect time issue – which is related) is currently the top priority issue for the item; as we release products on a monthly maintenance cycle, this fix will be included in the next build when it arrives sometime over the next few weeks.
As with any plugin when it first launches (this has only been out a couple months so far), users are going to find issues that we missed…we’ll work our quickest to get those patched as they come in. It seems a potential workaround for this would be to just disable the auto-import and bring in events manually as they’re added using the broader list – relying on the checkboxes to know which had already come in previously. Would that solution not work until an official patch is released?
All that to say…while we’d hate to see you go, if you feel a refund is fair, email me (pro @ tri.be) and we’ll take care of it for you.

MemberHey Neil, thanks for bringing the discussion over here. Based on the link you sent over in your initial email, I am seeing this….the time it is showing appears to be the current time in UTC +0 settings (it’s 2:16 local time for me, showing as 9:16 on your site). This seems to be happening with all Events too…not just those on Eventbrite.
I see you have a handful of other plugins on the site there. Can you try the deactivation route (reverting back until just The Events Calendar is active on your theme), and testing again? Then reverting to the 2011 theme with the same setup to see if it’s a theme problem? If we can identify a conflict that’d be a good starting point to getting this resolved.
Thanks in advance!

MemberHey guys. Thanks for the updates here, and for explaining the situation so succinctly. Definitely sounds like something is up and as Jonah is out for the next month, I’ll do what I can to assist.
Mari’s point is correct, and in re-reading John’s situation (and attempting this myself) I think that’s the cause here. (In my tests my event was scheduled for August 30, with ticket sales from August 1 – 10, and it worked fine). Ticket sales need to start and end at least 1 day before the event itself takes place. In addition, ticket sales cannot end before they start.
John: could this be the cause of your issue?
Rob
MemberThanks for the note here, Kyle – solid ideas on all fronts. I can see your point on the MU aspect and we’re in fact ultimately working towards exactly what you’ve noted here (more with the core Events plugin, which will of course extend over to the add-ons as well).
For the labels: have you tried modifying them for the core Events plugin to see if that carries over to Community? If not, couldn’t changing the language files allow for a workaround solution?
Rob
MemberHi Youna. Thanks for your report, and sorry to hear you’re encountering problems. I am unable to submit an event on your site since the form requires an account to access…but can you confirm a few things for me in the interim? Specifically:
* Make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress (3.4 or higher).
* Make sure you’re running the latest version of the Events plugin (2.0.8) and the Community plugin (1.0.2).
* It could be a permalinks-related issue. Resave your permalinks page to reset them. If you have permalinks turned off, turn them on with a structure like /%postname%/.
* Switch to a different templating option under Settings –> The Events Calendar, using the dropdown.
* Try increasing the PHP memory for your website: http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/
* Try the plugin deactivation route: deactivate your other plugins one-by-one, until just The Events Calendar/PRO are active, to see if it’s a conflict on that end.
* If that doesn’t do the trick, is there a staging environment where you can test all plugins off (except Events) AND reverting to the default 2011 theme?
* Please confirm that you haven’t modified any of the core plugin files or the Community template in any way yet.Let me know about those and if the deactivation route clears up the issue. (My guess is this is a conflict either with another plugin or the theme). If that doesn’t bring any luck, can you enable anonymous submissions and let me know so I can attempt on my end? We’ll do what we can to get you through this!
Rob
MemberHey John. Thanks for reaching out here. Is this a custom role you created, or does it occur with all the default WordPress roles? Have you already checked whether it is a conflict with another plugin via the old deactivation route (assuming you have a test environment on which to do so)?
Let me know and we can try to troubleshoot from there. Appreciate your patience and sorry for the inconvenience in the interim.

MemberHi Andrew. Thanks for reaching out here. This is something we unfortunately don’t have baked into the plugin yet; as we just launched a couple of months ago we’ve focused pretty heavily on just the submission aspect and segmenting between anonymous/logged in users up until this.
There have been quite a few requests for this since launch – based on this it is likely we’ll be adding something into the plugin when we can figure out how to more gracefully approach it. It is no small effort to build something for this (or we would have put up a tutorial by now walking users such as yourself through how to do it)…but it is in the radar as an issue in demand.
You might be able to build something to allow for it, using Gravity Forms or another plugin, but it’d probably take some effort. Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. If you have other questions or if I can do anything else please let me know.

MemberHey Andrew: what is your site? I didn’t see any credentials come to the PRO account…let me know.
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-up, Philipp, and for confirming as much. (Believe I just addressed another thread you had on a similar point as well). We have had a lot of requests for more random/configurable recurrence patterns even since this thread was initially posted, and I have no doubt of the value they’d add. We’ll be gradually working these in throughout the 2.1 lifecycle and look forward to hearing whether they are in line with what you guys wanted.
Thanks again for the feedback and apologies there isn’t more I can offer in the short-term. If anyone has any further questions please do let me know.
Rob
MemberHey Philipp. Thanks for reaching out here, and for your purchase of Events Calendar PRO. Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Both of these problems you’re reporting here are certainly not the intended core behavior of the plugin, and since we’re not able to recreate them locally it does seem like there is something specific to your install at play here. We’re happy to do whatever we can to help get this sorted.
The first item: the few times this has come up for users in the past, it usually was either a PHP/memory issue for their site or a conflict with another plugin. Any chance either of those could be at play here? There is one other situation that could be at play here: if you had a saved recurrence pattern, then attempted to publish it without electing if you wanted your changes applied to this event or all future events, the infinite spin would occur. Here’s a screencast of that: http://screencast.com/t/RlWYN2ZL4z. This can be avoided by simply clicking one of the options in the pop-up instead of closing it. Could this be related to your situation? Does it share any patterns with it, based on what you see in the screencast?
For the second issue: not positive I understand here, but if you modify an individual event in a broader recurrence patterns and apply those changes just to that event (using the popup showed in my screencast above), it will break that instance out of the broader recurrence pattern and make it into a standalone event. Only when changes are applied to all future events does the recurrence stay true. Could that be related here?
Thanks for your patience so far. Let us know about these points above and we’ll do what we can to assist.

MemberHey again Scott. Are you saying here that you just want to be able to drill down to directly link to specific categories in list view, in the same way you would grid view? Let me know if not. Otherwise you should be able to do this by just adding /upcoming/ to the end of the URL.
Ie if it is this for a specific category in the calendar: mysite.com/events/category/my-category. You could make it show the list of that category by formatting it as mysite.com/events/category/my-category/upcoming.
Make sense? Let me know if not, or if I misunderstood your request here. Thanks in advance.

MemberScott: is this the same problem you are having (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-the-events-calendar-navigation-from-template-get-lost?replies=15), or are we misconstruing what you’re seeing here? If the site isn’t live mind posting a screenshot, should we have misunderstood the request? Thanks in advance!

MemberHey Alex. We haven’t heard any reports of this theme not working with the plugin; it’s possible, but let’s test a few things first to see if we can figure out what’s up. Can you check a few items for me? Specifically:
* Make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress.
* Make sure you’re running the latest version of the Events plugin (2.0.8) and the Events PRO plugin (2.0.8 again).
* Does this also occur when you are running the site in English, without translation? Or could the problem be specific to the translated version?Let me know about these and we’ll try to troubleshoot with this best we can. Thanks for your patience and support so far.
