Hi there, Site. Thanks for the note and my apologies for the inconvenience. As I mentioned in our email exchange it can take us up to 2 (two) business days to respond to a given thread on here and appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through the queue of issues.

On this problem: I appreciate your explanation. This isn’t an issue that has been reported before and doesn’t seem to be occurring on any of the other sites we’ve helped out with so far, and as such my guess is that something else is at play here. I assume you have already tested the deactivation route, for both plugins and the theme? This would entail first, deactivating your other plugins one-by-one until just The Events Calendar/Eventbrite remain alongside the theme. If the problem still persists there it’d involve reverting to the default 2011 theme, still with no other plugins active. Can you confirm whether you’ve done this?

I’ve got a dev looking into specifically what your theme developer reported and will comment here once he’s been able to validate as much, or provide any more information on this end. Should be sometime this evening but may be tomorrow morning. It’d be helpful to have a link to the site so we can view this directly (and would help expedite a resolution). Mind sharing one or sending the link to the email account we exchanged messages with previously? Thanks in advance, and for your patience so far.

Hey Michael. Thanks for the follow-up. Happy to answer these questions best I can; though just to set expectations a bit, when you send an email to pro /a tri.be (or post a comment here on the forum) it can take us up to 48 hours to get you a response. Sorry about that, but it’s just the nature of the fact that we’re all freelancers (nobody is a full-time employee) and that 2/3 of the support staff is out this month.

    1. I am seeing this on your site, but the fact that it doesn’t occur on a default 2011 install (and all the fields appear fine) makes me think this is a conflict with the theme. Before trying the broader theme reversion route, though, can you let me know if this is fixed by changing to a different template under Events -> Settings -> Template? Make sure to try each of the options there.
    2. While we haven’t received any reports of conflicts with this other plugin, it’s definitely possible there is one. We try our best to ensure the plugin will integrate smoothly with everything else out there but obviously there is no way to get that 100%. The form itself is not a “post”, per se; does that plugin give you the option to tie into pages as well?
    3. This is a good catch and may be a bug, though I’m weirdly not seeing it on my end. Can you confirm that you’re on Community 1.0.2? If so, I’ll get a dev to take a look and try to provide a workaround as we get this fixed for the next build.

No worries about the site link; as what you sent over via email is fine and gave me what I need to see the product. Let’s keep the discussion going here versus via email though, so it’s all tracked in one place and so we can get you responses in as timely a fashion as possible. Cheers!

Hi Joseph: I’m not quite sure I understand your last message here…can you elaborate? Were you able to identify a conflict or are you saying this only happens since the 2.0.8 update?

Thanks RM: confirmed and noted in our existing ticket. The more requests we have for given features, the more likely they are to be included sooner…and this one has come up a lot…

Thanks again for the tip. Let us know what else we can do in the future or if you have any other questions.

It is definitely still in the shortlist (culled from the long list) of fixes we’re working through, and apologies that I wasn’t as clear about that as I could have been. Sounds like you’re set here now but if you need anything else, please let me know. Otherwise watch the release notes sticky forum post for the next couple maintenance builds – once the fix is deployed, we’ll note it therein.

Sean: the easiest way to do this would be to customize the form with an override; it could probably be done as simple as making the category names invisible if you were looking for the most straightforward method.

Let me know if you needed something more specific than that and I’ll get you what you need. Cheers!

Hi Leonard. Thanks for the note here, and my apologies for the inconvenience you’re faced with so far. We have been dealing with a related issue of mysterious 404s on The Events Calendar that may be related to this. Are those links coming from a tag cloud somewhere on the site?

Hi Alex: thanks for the follow-up. If there is an existing thread on this issue, I’d appreciate a link as it would help me gather some context on this. While we obviously do what we can to ensure integration with as many themes as possible, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

We do have a fairly substantial template update coming in 2.1 (which I suspect is what my colleagues referenced in the prior thread); that’s on track for release sometime in the fall. Until then we can try our best to help integrate…some of these issues sound broader than just a theme compatibility issue but if you can point me to the past discussion I’ll adjust my response accordingly.

Thanks for your patience and understanding on this so far.

in reply to: HTML in calendar tooltip #23011

Hey Achim. At this point HTML is not supported in the tooltips; there may be a way to work around that via a code tweak but I’ll have to get a dev to speak to that directly…no guarantees but if they can point you in the right direction they’ll do their best.

Adjusting the tooltip hover duration would probably be doable, but it would require modifying the core plugin files (which is not advised and unfortunately not supported).

Hope this helps. Stay tuned on the first point and I’ll have someone comment directly as soon as possible. Appreciate your patience in the interim.

Hey Joseph: thanks for the update. I’m not 100% sure I understand, but it looks like that’s partially because the code got lost. Mind putting your code into a pastie.org link or something similar and sharing it there so I’m up to speed?

Thanks in advance. Apologies for the lack of official code support here in the forums; we’re working to change that but haven’t found the right solution yet.

Hey Carter. Awesome to hear you got this figured out; yeah, anytime the plugins are running out of sync you’re likely to encounter such issues.

Seems like we’re set here so I’m going to mark your solution as the answer, and close it out. As usual let us know what else you need in the future.

Hey Matthew. Thanks for confirming as much; this is an interesting issue and at this point is outside my area of expertise. Let me get a member of our dev team to take a look and respond directly when they do a forum pass this afternoon.

Thanks again for your patience so far.

Glad to be of service, Kyle. Also awesome to hear you got the labels issue figured out.

You should be able to customize the mini calendar display pretty extensively, if I understand what you’re going for here. Have you checked out Jonah’s guidance in a thread that seems related to yours (specifically… https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/mini-calendar-pop-up-size/)? Let me know if that doesn’t point you in the right direction here or if I misunderstood what you were going for and I can adjust my response. Cheers!
